Testnet nodes on fork
« on: October 26, 2016, 07:02:15 pm »

Mainnet users and general audience, this message is not for you.

For anyone running a testnet node, please double check that your node is not on a fork.
The official testnet is now at height 963468 block id 2972427188900401101
If you don't see this block id your blockchain you are on a fork.

To get back to the official testnet branch popoff blocks up to height 900000 and let your node rescan then download the remaining blocks. Should take no more than an hour.
If you still end up on a fork post here and we'll provide further guidance.

Looks like I'm on fork now, height 963468 block id 4328622269125703485.

But I can see other famous test peers like "test.nxtportal.org,DragonFlyBSD amd64,Hyperboria-TestNet",is that means they all on fork? And how this happen? I just simple update my peers.

In general, open conf/nxt-default.properties and look for the nxt.defaultTestnetPeers
Specifically, I can recommend one of these peers 107.170.3.62, nrs.scripterron.org, bug.airdns.org as very reliable testnet peers.

Right, the Ardor distribution left several testnet nodes on a fork. The reason being that nodes which popped off blocks in order to switch to a better chain during the Ardor distribution period has sometimes miscalculated their Ardor balance.

So that was a bug that won't recur now the distribution is over? Did mainnet have the same bug?

I was on a fork for about 4 days. I guess that's when someone tried to send some Ardor asset that the main branch didn't think they owned.
