What exchanges do before they die: Delist NXT.

Does someone want to reach out to them? Try and get them to change there mind, would be a shame to lose an exchange.

The *only* way they are going to change their mind is if the volume changes, which means people not clustering on bter.

If not, they have no sane reason to keep Nxt on their exchange. An exchange is a business, not a service.

Generally agree with you, although a quick conversation never hurts.

Anyone got an email address for them and I will send them a quick email?

I have been in communications with C-Cex for a long time And introduced Evildave to C-Cex to get NXT Listed in the 1st place.

As Damelon mentioned trades are needed, If you have a crypto with no trades it makes your exchange look bad and no users, simple solution remove the non-traded currency.

Yeah, as per the above replies: myself and l8orre helped C-CEX with their NXT integration,
(not that they needed much help, C-CEX pretty much hold the record for fastest integration of NXT ever  :o )
and we pretty much understand C-CEX' position on traded currencies: they want to see some volume, and some fees.
If no-one is trading, whats the point of continuing to list NXT on C-CEX?

So, this is really a decision for everyone in the community: are you going to carry on clustering on BTER, or give other exchanges (like CCEDK and C-CEX) some trading volume ?
C-CEX would like to see 0.1 BTC/day in trade volume (or about 2000 NXT.....)
Just one or 2 active traders would be enough to keep the market alive.

It's a bit of a chicken-egg thing isn't it?  HitBTC is another exchange that added NXT but sees little volume - https://hitbtc.com/terminal/NXTBTC

I'm surprised BTER has the majority of trade volume given the fact that they use a single NXT hot wallet account and users can't generate new deposit addresses.  If you just watch the NXT blockchain it's trivial to identify in/out transactions and correlate them with reused BTC deposit addresses.  It strikes me as odd that the big traders would prefer using an exchange that shares so much public information to allow their financial movements to be identified.

some bots could add volume, maybe LIQUID or MMNXT will solve this?

Sadly, there is no other NXT chart on BitcoinWisdom, and i choose not to trade blind.

Yep, I really tried to use CCDEK and other exchanges - but it's pointless even for small amounts unless you're willing to lose a lot to the spread. Go sell 1BTC and one really doesn't have a choice other than BTER (Multigateway was ok too, but declining in volume - havn't kept track lately).
But even BTER's volume is low as compared to other currencies.

Not aware of any solution. We have no mining (which seems to generate more action). And we don't actually want whales to sell too much.

If NXT would be used more in payments, then people would have to buy and sell... but in a way it seems like a pointless exercise if it's really only about creating income for exchanges. Also not likely to happen soon.
Maybe it's just ok to have low volume  - and I'm not hungry for big prices swings anyways.

I agree. Not a good system. But apart from this, BTER works well and has been reliable. Apart from the big hack BTER was also helpful to the community: Helping in other hacks and supporting JL777 with his asset sales.

Just one or 2 active traders would be enough to keep the market alive.

Well, let's look at C-CEX... 30 BTC/day on 700 shit coins...
That's about $12/day in exchange fees... minimum wage in Canada is $11/hour.

NXT needs to delist from fringe exchanges like C-CEX...
And, in fact, "cluster" all the trading on a few exchanges like BTER...
That's how you create liquidity... which shows up on the volume boards... and begets more liquidity.

One way BTER has maxed NXT liquidity is by dropping a decimal point...
You can only trade NXT to 7 decimal places... like 0.0000501-0.0000502... NOT 0.00005019-0.00005020

When the NYSE went to $0.01 spread from $0.05 spread liquidity tanked...
And Bots further trashed NYSE liquidity... Bots always exploit, never contribute.
In fact, virtually everything that you read about Bots and Crypto is bullshit.

If you want an easy way to increase Nxt AE liquidity...
Limit the decimal places on the bid/offers...
If a Bot can jump ahead of you by offering 0.0000001 more IT  KILLS  LIQUIDITY, baby.

Nxt has only 5-10 peers in China... why not build up BTER trading as much as possible...
While working on listing on a Big Time exchange.

In general, if health of NXT coin is not given serious priority...
I can see BTCD surpassing it and becoming the strong, liquid currency of Nxt...
And the Devs can then have their "network token" back after it collapses to near zero.
