Hi Guys,

I persist that we should not take Jeff's FUDs sitting down. Let's capture a bit of BTC marketcap.

It is my understanding that there is a kitty for technical/infrastructure development. I propose the committee offer bounties
for development of merchant plugins and appropriate marketing collateral. This way, more and more
people will get to curious about what NXT offers above and beyond BTC and will be hit with the answer.

The tools I refer to are similar to the merchant plugins offered by BitPay and Coinbase to integrate with popular FOSS shopping cart
software. These plugins should be freely available for anyone to integrate, including NXT community members who want to target various sectors using commercial portals. They should be in a NRS plugins subdirectory.

I also feel very strongly that NXT tech/infrastructure should offer a bounty for a DGS webstore that is delightful for customers and make it part of core release for anyone to tweak for their industry.

Secondly, we need to make NRS web ui mobile responsive and consider bells and whistles that would enable anyone with a public IP
able to host an NXT wallet service for the public.

As a group, we tend to be very defensive.

It's OK to correct misinformation, but to go on about it just makes it look there really ís a problem.

Jeff Garzik recently tweeted that Ethereum is economically broken. His argument is that if an app becomes popular, it raises the value of ether, making every other unrelated app more expensive to run. Do you agree? If not, what's your rebuttal?

He is completely and utterly incorrect. The economic arguments behind which fee miners have nothing to do with the price of ETH in real value. See: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/White-Paper#fees

Your argument does micro-focus on fees. See: However, Ethereum itself is economically broken. An increase in 'ether' value raises costs for unrelated apps A, B & C." "Costs" and "fees" are synonyms here; there's no proof-of-work requirement to participate in an eth-dapp, so all costs are monetary costs that you pay to other people, ie. fees.
Now, the question is, what kinds of fees are we talking about? For transaction fees, I replied above. For dapp-specific fees, I would say:
Dapps can incorporate arbitrary mechanisms for adjusting their prices over time. You can do a schellingcoin to fix the price in USD, you can use block.difficulty to estimate mining power, etc.
If it's really serious a problem, dapps can price in internal tokens; although even that approach doesn't even solve the real problem as we can see, so some kind of internal market or voting or schelling of futarchy mechanism is going to be necessary.
