Interesting tidbit that the lottery account sold. Shame, that was a good effort.

Returns from forging themselves will never be profitable - crypto moves like 20% on any given day... so how would even 5% per year income even make a difference?
At the end forging is about protecting the network. If the network dies, you lose it all - if the network runs well, the price will rise. It's profitable because it helps the coin.

And I think it always was like this - and is like this for any other POS coin. Others might inflate to give higher forging rewards. But that just means the coins you hold lose value at the same rate.

Returns from forging won't make one a millionaire like in bitcoin (for now at least) but it could provide a tidy small income once the blockchain gets busy.

The major problem is centralized distribution of NXT.
With a default PoS Algorithm, only the accounts with millions of NXT can profit.

In five years, it has been scattered and no longer focused.
Now that many projects ICO are not centralized?

Yep, pretty much everyone moved to slack/discord/telegram/etc.

Although truth be told, slack also doesn't have much activity lately.  :'(

Forum was better - everything was on the display, you just come in and see all the activity. Slacks are a walled garden - you can have 1000 active members, yet if you're not logged in, you may think that the project is dying.
Not to mention that google doesn't index chat rooms.

This forum is dead... The more you post here, the more fragmented the community gets as it makes other check this site. Lets just move to reddit and reddit chat.

For Ardor discussions, populate and grow Ardor Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ardor/

Ardor Chat: https://www.reddit.com/chat/r/ardor/channel/1451823_2d596bae6854a672974e59c7402f68f32b0d51da

Face it this place is dying... If everyone can forcus their efforts on building out Reddit Ardor, you'd have a winning chance.

This forum still has a value, but it is true that it feels dead.

Slack is useless as an advertising tool: "Hey everyone let's hide in the back and whisper to each other!" It is useful for devs to talk internally, assuming they are in different locations, but leaves no digital footprint, so no one else knows that anything is happening.

Reddit would be fine for price speculation talk with people that have never heard of a crypto-whatever, but I am not interested in that.

Here is my Price Speculation: There is no future for NXT. Would you by Microsoft stock if Bill Gates started a new company making a software he described as MS 2.0? Ardor will generally follow the movements of BTC, LTC, and ETH unless it can create its own awareness in the public psyche. NXT was doing that until the Devs decided to change the name (Ardor) and lock the doors (Slack). There's my speculation. You might as well just buy BTC, LTC, or ETH, even though BTC and LTC are junk-tech compared to NXT/Ardor, and ETH is only half as developed as Ardor (or even Nxt).

Whenever I am on Reddit and I see someone ask a technical question, I see dozens or even hundreds of irrelevant comments before I see a useful response. It is a great place to discuss popular things like video-games or movies, but can you imagine discussing a niche subject like the NBCK on Reddit?
