I can't imagine taking snapshots of accounts is dependent on the client people did or did not install locally.
Maybe the way the snaphots or Ardor tokens (=assets) are displayed to you, is dependent on your client version.

@stadtfeger:  nope, the snapshot process doesn't run on local clients, so this is not a mandatory update:

Change log:

This is the first stable release in the 1.9 series. Update to this release on
mainnet is optional up until block 1000000 (Oct 12), however users are advised
to do it earlier, as after July 14th updating will trigger a blockchain rescan.

The main new feature in 1.9 is the distribution of ARDR assets. See the 1.9.0e
changelog for details.

Than the different exchanges must inform that the User can  update and store the nxt coins on the New Client unter the snapshot begins.

Exchanges must inform their users that they should withdraw their coins from the exchanges to their local wallets? ;)
I think it's more likely that the exchanges that have one big NXT account, keep the Ardor assets themselves, do an easy one-time snapshot distribution, or maybe can be convinced to do multiple snapshots just like happens with the local clients.

Price has come down about 20% from the June 28 peak and is back below 3000 Sats. Buying opportunity in my opinion.

Did that

Call me paranoid but I never keep anything more than the tiniest amount of nxt or btc on any exchange.

I'm talking to the exchanges that trade NXT to ask them to organise an internal NXT balance snapshot and to distribute ARDR to their customers.
It's not a huge technical challenge, and I expect that most exchanges will be able/willing to implement it. More details will follow soon, probably at the end of this coming week.

NXT seems to have less volatility than NEM. Possibly because of the longer period of flushing out weaker holders.
You call them weaker holders, I call them smarter by cashing out with a profit  ;)

wtf happened to SuperNET?
seemingly dead... James occassionally posts some nonsense here and there (not on this board though) and folks tweet that out to seemingly show some sense of progress... but it ain't there - seems to be pretty much in the same shape as mid 2015.

Just remember these words:
EVERYTHING James touches NEVER gets finished to a fully working state.

You've known him for how long? SMH. Its people like you that are the reason NXT had a 3 year bear market.
Since early 2014 (february/march?) to be precise. I have tested several of his "workings".
I know one of his developers and the stuff I heard from him... It's good that that never gets public.
Over the years I've had my personal share of interactions with James in public and through PM's.

So you might say I know James  ;)

No, that doesn't qualify you as "knowing James" or saying nothing he ever works on ever gets done.  Its just a stupid inflammatory opinion that is so easy to offer on a forum like this.  If your developer friend thinks the same why is he working with James? Maybe, since you've tested "his workings" you can share the technical details of these that lead you to the conclusion that none of them would ever be finished. Please, educate us...
My developer friend stopt working for him  ;)
He did make a nice buck though.

James never finishes anything. The devs around him try to finish the stuff he thinks of. That's why I don't speak ill of those devs, THEY are the ones that make it work or at least try to.

It's all my opinion, but fortunately I'm not alone.
Read back this forum and the old Bitcointalk forum. Should give you a different opinion.

But as always: once someone lets people make a lot of money they are considered a god and untouchable.  ;)

Thanks for the explanation, but I was just testing your knowledge. As I expected, I have forgotten more about James than you've ever known about him. You are just spouting circumstantial claims based on motivations of a typical crypto daytrader.

Come back in 2020 and if James hasn't delivered an awesome product(s), we can start to have this conversation.
I've held NXT coins from jan/feb. 2014 till april/may 2015.
Funded several people to do stuff (conferences, that rocket project from EvilDave, paid and translated a NXT commercial, paid a designer for a project that didn't complete), but yes I'm merely a day trader ;)

Peace out! :-*

Sometimes I need to remember myself why I'm following cryptoes:

Quote
Rising concentration of global wealth.
Estimates suggest that almost half of the world’s wealth is now owned by just 1 percent of the population, amounting to
$110 trillion—65 times the total wealth of the bottom half of the world’s population (Fuentes Nieva and Galasso 2014).

For instance, a third of the total wealth in the United States is held by 1 percent of the population (Figure 10, left panel). In most countries with available data, the share held by the 1 percent wealthiest population is rising at the expense of the bottom 90 percent population

page 15 paragraph 22

Quote
Disparities in financial services access.
There are large disparities in the use of financial services between advanced economies and EMDCs and across income levels within a country (Figure 14). More than 80 percent of adults in advanced economies have an account at a formal financial institution—twice more than in EMDCs. Within EMDCs, the share of adults with an account or a loan at a formal financial institution is largely skewed toward the top income earners. The rest rely on their own limited savings to invest in education or become entrepreneurs, suggesting that financial inequality and income inequality go hand in hand. In many EMDCs, low-income households and small-scale firms often face challenges in accessing financial services due to lack of financial knowledge, complicated processes, onerous paperwork, and other market failures. Moreover, available financial products tend to be more limited and relatively costly.

Yes, assets are supported by both Nxt 2.0 (Ardor) as on Nxt 1.0.
Both system will remain operational.

Assets can move to 2.0 if they wish, but will not be automatically moved there.  :)
