Don't know if this was already mentioned in our little monster thread, but if anybody missed it:

The features planned for the next hard fork are coin shuffling, account control for phased transactions (which makes an account only allowed to submit phased transactions, requiring the approval of one or more other accounts), and 2FA using hash chains (using one-time hashcodes to approve each account transaction).

This release will however be called 1.7, because in the meantime we are preparing another major release which must be numbered 1.6, upgrade to which will be optional and will not require a hard fork. The main features that will go into this 1.6 release are account ledger (you will finally be able to see the received dividend payments in the client), peer services (being able to fetch expired prunable data from peers that archive them), and asset deletion (which until the 1.7 hardfork will still use an asset transfer transaction internally, to be compatible with 1.5 nodes).

Quite nice.

Some solid additions being added. NXT never fails to amaze.

This is amazing! As long as aditions have been made as this to the NXT we shouldn't be afraid about the future.

On an other note: Is there any plan to change the default theme settings to corporate? Looks way more professional than the "normal" one.  :)

So what exactly can Ethereum do that NXT can't and vice versa? What are advantages? I would like some answers from more experienced people here.

Thanks

Well apparently it can do at least 13x as many things as Nxt.

I feel like you would have to pay me to take the time to answer. :)  Ethereum is designed much differently than Nxt.  I would start here: ethereum.org and Nxt.org  Not trying to be a smartass, but they are both very complicated protocols and it would take pages to answer your question.

Does anyone think that the price has dropped as a result of people trading for ethereum?

The price was already on a downwards trend before Eth came out. It was pumped on Chinese exchanges beforehand was all, and corrections seem to lead towards a downwards nudge in price from their original place.

I think volume was down due to ETH trading, but has gone up a little recently.

Remember, we're in a new market and frontier. I know this has been said before but I can't stress just how important this is. We're essentially a bunch of internet geeks in the mid 80s, it's a project that very few have heard of which is populated by fanatics.

Etherium doing well can only benefit NXT, and vice versa. Any recognition in this space will undoubtedly lead to an influx of newcomers, including the projects which are not at the forefront of recognition but still widely used.

If you're in NXT for profit you better be in it for the long run one way or the other.

This means reading posts from the same members in 2020 or 2022 even. Be it because we're early adopters of a resounding success or sorry bag holders that look back at our foolishness with bittersweet chuckles.

I tend to agree, although ive noticed NEM has taken a hit after ethereum launched.

Anyway, i just hope we can compete with the competition, im amazed how Ethereum has got so high a marketcap, yet its not even completed and yet NXT is already delivering alot.

Either way, im in it for the long run, in 10 years time its really going to pay off.
