Why not? Links to images in any case. Images as well... Not sure I guess this would not be of high quality anyway so, you better go with links.

Include a main image with items you sell, and up to three additional images. Images are completely optional.

In the core Nxt Client Marketplace you could include image URLs in the description.

I wouldn't think the NXT core would ever provide image storage for two reasons:
1.) If images were stored on the blockchain, it would bloat the blockchain wouldn't it?
2.) If they are not stored on the blockchain, they would need to be stored on a server and that would no longer be decentralized.

So image links will work, I believe storing images will never be in the core

I'll think about it.. maybe I'll just go for a provisional patent, I can talk about the algorithm a little bit more openly, then release it free after a year. Or I might not go through with patent..  idk.  I was thinking only patent in US and probably Europe.  Because it is costly.

You'll just waste your money.  It will be unenforceable and people will copy the code anyway.

Maybe this should be implemented on a sidechain in the future.  If you want pictures, you must download another chain.

We could add a "transient data" attachment that can have larger size, but is only kept in the blockchain for a limited time, say 24 hours. The hash of the complete attachment will be included in the transaction bytes that are signed and will be kept permanently, so that transaction signature can always be verified, but the actual data will be deleted after this expiration period. Then the bloat to the blockchain and extra traffic will be limited to those attachments for the last 24 hours.
This wouldn't be that useful for images for goods that sellers keep in stock permanently, but for short lived items, or even message with picture type of attachment, may work. Just an idea.

Very interesting! So many uses, a definite must have.

For now couldn't we just have the UI show any png or jpeg URLs as pictures?

How about longer horizons, but still limited? I was thinking about the same maxtime, that forging leasing allows. Would offer much more use cases, imo.

Put up a new wall at MGW to buy 1 million NXT @ 0.00005882 (Sell wall of 60 BTC for 17000 NXT/BTC).
And another wall to buy 3 million NXT @ 0.00005555 (Sell wall of 168 BTC for 18000 NXT/BTC).
