Something must be really wrong with ether when they need bitshares help.

Same goes for darkcoin when they needed hirocoin dev to integrate checkpointing to make soft forks.

I do not see the importance of them teaming up.

Myself and Damelon entered into a conference call with the CEO of http://www.globalcoinreserve.com/ and the I am now working with them along side Adam from http://diacle.com/ to cover all legalities etc for there service.

Global Coin Reserve launched 4 weeks ago and to fullfill there customer requirement they was waiting on Ethereum to use there network and Smart Contract.

As of 2 days ago myself and Adam are putting the project together for Global Coin Reserve to USE NXT Asset Exchange to create tokens backed by Silver Gold Platinum and Paladium with potentially a new company based in Isle of Man to work with NXT in the Same way as Ethereum but using NXT within the NXT few weeks as they are able to use Secure AE platform to provide the service require.

Global Coin Reserve provides Multi Level Marketing service for CLoud Hashing of there own GCR Coin.

There members will take the GCR Coin and use it on the Secure AE to purchase the GCRSILVER etc Token to have Token backed BY BULLION.

Global Coin Reserve currently has 1000 Members but now that they have NXT platform to use opposed to waiting for Ethereum to launch the will reach 6000 Members in period of a few weeks and I would expect them to reach nearly 50,000 Just after Christmas by the time Ethereum Launchs.

So I was very lucky to be able to meet Robert the CEO and to discuss the opportunity of NXT Platform and to assist with the legal setups that he will require.

So YES looks LIKE Ethereum MAY have A reason to Team UP with BITSHARES

Technology is there existing already and NXT has people that can push it forward

Now you know 1 of the projects in development for NXT in regards to Business Services

Damelon and Sergey from Secure AE are in the Loop and this is 1 of over 40 projects that I will be introduced to NXT

NXT gold
Recently, Lee Gibson Grant one of the NXT forum members was introduced to the CEO of Global Coin Reserve. After some discussion the idea of smart contracts was discussed. GoldCoinsReserve are excited to announce that they are looking forward to adding new features to their GCRcoin by utilising NXT’s proven blockchain technology. This choice may come as a disappointment to Ethereum, who are also to be used by GCR, but choosing for NXT will allow GCR to begin work on the project immediately, as the launch of Ethereum is still almost 6 months away..
Grant is working with many enthusiastic businesses that are recognising the opportunities that using the NXT blockchain and systems can bring to their own business models. Overstock is not the only business that is interested in making a ‘crypto-stock’ issue and there are several businesses looking to work with NXT in similar ways.

I have no role in this. I sat in on the call and provided info on Nxt where needed.

This is a venture by Lee and this company and I am not involved at any stage, nor will I be.

This isn't clear to me. Are you saying that GCR is going to use NXT and Ethereum both or only NXT (since NXT is available right now)?

In either case, congratulations on a hopeful launch of the NXT smart contracts!

Bitshares and Ethereum are banding together, Vitalik thinks DPOS is the future (this is going to undermine beliefs of some in PoW world).

Does it mean both Vitalik and Dan are so afraid of NXT that they have to join efforts now? ;)

Something must be really wrong with ether when they need bitshares help.

Same goes for darkcoin when they needed hirocoin dev to integrate checkpointing to make soft forks.

Well, it basically goes like this:

Turing-completeness requires a lot of resources. PoW requires a lot of resources.

So, with PoS, they eliminate the latter and save more power for the former.

linked-tradebot custom blockchains require only resources from the nodes running the specific linked tradebots, so if it is running on PoS, then we get arbitrary number of parallel blockchains, efficiently

Does anyone have a mirror? Site is down and I'm trying to quote something on another forums post.

Any idea how to achieve sidechains/parallel blockchains with PoS? I feel this is related to the missing capability for SPV of PoS.

I posted my idea last week, cant find the thread, not sure if anybody responded.

I just made node specific C script. OK, so this is turing complete, but not decentralized at all as it is unique to each node.

But, we add the ability to deploy linked (identical) tradebots across a subset of nodes that agree to such a thing. Now we have the same code running on a subset of all nodes. Closer, but no nicotine stick yet.

Now add a data synchronization function to the tradebots. [I ignore the convergence time, etc. just some way for the linked tradebots to share data] If the tradebots are synchronizing data in a regular format (block) and do it on a regular basis with each block linked to the previous block (chain), I believe we just made a blockchain that is running on just the subset of nodes of this particular linked-tradebot.

Now make a Tradebot store where people can download their favorite linked-tradebot and they are part of this specific blockchain.

Isnt this parallel/side chain on PoS?

I am not sure. I mean this looks more like a peer-to-peer network, right? Not that is could not work the way you described it but that why do you need blockchains here at all?

I can't open the link. Does Ethereum decide to use the BitshareX DPoS consensus mechanism for their own blockchain/platform or use BitshareX blockchain for Ethereum like Mastercoin on Bitcoin?
