There seems to be some things in the video that were not mentioned in the 2.0 discussion thread on the forum (about 36:00 in the video).

Perhaps these would have been important things to know for people who decided to leave NXT.

Did I understand correctly?

- Assets are global
- Assets can be traded with Bitcoin or USD, if somebody creates a childchain which is
pegged to Bitcoin or USD
- Assets are not tied to NXT liquidity in the same way they are now. There seems to be no reason for asset prices to drop, as some have speculated will happen with 2.0
- Childchain to asset trading is in effect what users have been asking for with a request for asset-to-asset trading

Marc your are now a great interviewer : I really enjoyed the serious & sharp topics Riker has developped. It was nerver boring

An overall, it was a precious talk for all of us ! Thank you to both of you !

I have a suggestion for you : You can become one of the professional interviewer of the cryptoworld. Who among the few of them is as much altcoin invested as you? This gives you an angle and a natural proximity to the viewer concerns that is stronger than none other. You do not need to be Nxt centric, and it will help Nxt anyway.

Smart fact : Is it only me ? But the noisy cafe background almost forced me to drink a beer  ::)

Haha, I did with Riker and Marc at that bar. :) It was a real pleasure to meet Marc, Bas, Testdruif and Lior of course in person. Nice guys!

The interview is really very good too. Lot of great stuff and extreme inspiring!!  :o :)

Thanks Marc!

Ps. I don't know how you do the interviews, but you could try a selfie stick and a microphone with cable. I saw Vincent Everts do the same while he was interviewing Paola Tasca from the Deutsche Bundesbank on Bitcoinwednesday in Amsterdam.

A NXT investor talking to a NXT coredev was what made this interview so interesting and helpful. The cryptoworld as a whole is too big. Stay NXT centric, even NXT core centric. IMO: A skype interview in the style of the above by Marc with Riker once per month or so would give the community of stakeholders a lot more confidence in NXT.

This is a great idea for Marc´s youtube channel. Skype interviews with Nxt people (foundation, devs) and even nxt´s competitors people...

This is not the first time these features are mentioned. Somewhere in the Nxt 2.0 thread are explained also.

Ahem...

SuperBTC should become a token for a child chain instead of the asset that it is now. As it is pegged to BTC, it is a different economy, with its own risks.

An asset should be possible to trade in NXT, or in SuperBTC, by submitting the ask/bid transaction on the corresponding child chain, unless the asset issuer or the child chain properties do not allow that. It is the transactions that need to belong to a specific child chain, in order to be possible to be able to prune them, and to have their fees in different tokens. But many entities such as assets will be global, since as I explained every node will need to be able to validate every child chain transactions, therefore needs the current state of every child chain. Which exactly objects will be global and which restricted to a child chain remains to be determined.

Concrete example: Could a coloured coin move from child A to child B?
If you are talking about assets, such objects will really be global. Whether a specific asset is hidden or not accessible on some child chain, and if such restriction is permanent or can be changed, those are details that can be decided later.

Ignored.

Asset to Asset trading is another potential problem solved by this design. Think about it.

Let's try again.

Assets being global does this mean that the assets we have today can be traded on childchains in these chains' "local" currency?
Yes, this is one important goal of the design. When ask/bid order transactions are submitted on a child chain, they will be denominated in the local currency of that child chain, even if the asset issuance transaction was done on another child chain. And a dividend payment can be submitted on a different child chain, resulting in distribution of that child chain local currency to shareholders.

Since some asset issuers may not want their assets to be tradeable on all child chains, or vice versa, this should be configurable to allow restricting an asset to only one child chain, or a child chain to not accept trades of assets originating from other chains. These are all details to be worked out.

I see. Thank you for confirming that.
The creation of a SuperBTC sidechain = a decentralised Nxt AE < > BTC market.

[edit]: Yes, we may need more videos. Thanks, marc + riker. :)
