As far as the development effort on NXT after Ardor, NXT basically a completed project just adding features.  The developers are probably spending more time on ARDOR IGNIS, pre-release than post release, so they'll have the same amount of time and more funding to get more developers.  I'm guessing, but if things go well, it shouldn't be a problem keeping up with NXT which still has it's uses.  I think in most cases an ICO will be easier on NXT than creating your own child chain.
I imagine that the code for Ardor is similar to that of Nxt, so it would be relatively easy to port new Ardor features to Nxt if there is any demand.

If you want an ICO, I'd have thought it would be as easy to do it on Ignis as on Nxt. You surely won't need to create a child chain just for an ICO.

If Nxt remains in use, I think it will be because its security model is known good, while Ardor's  is still experimental. It may take a year or more before Ardor is as trusted as Nxt, at least by some people. But when it is, I don't see much reason for Nxt to continue existing.

Yes, I think it will be easier to create an ICO with NXT that Ardor.  I've created one with NXT before, haven't played with Ardor so I'm not an expert, but what you're saying is correct.  If you just want to raise money for a company, you might just need NXT.

I think ICO will be more convenient on Ardor than Nxt since assets are global on Ardor so each childchain may be able to participate. You will do so in the crypto most convenient to you.

You are not agreeing with me. I am saying it will be easy to create an ICO on Ardor, too. The Ignis chain will have all the features you need for an ICO.

Oh, I see, you'll just create it on Igins.  Got it.

What do you guys think will happen with NXT denominated assets like JINN, Supernet, etc?

I like that they have a new page on the client app, rather than typing in the asset name for the IGNIS ico.  good job.

Maybe it will be more of a dual system. Similar to a Bitcoin /litecoin setup. Tried and true & experimental and innovative.

This would be a great outcome in my opinion. There is plenty of room for both.

Hi guys!

I have already asked this in the Ardor thread, bumping up just in case you may have a more profound answer :)

Quote
We would like to create a currency in Nxt and also transition it to Ardor. In this regard we would like to ask, what changes in terms of the currency issuer account, currency supply, currency holders, etc., will be affected during the move? Detailed answers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

Maybe you should try to ask Support in the slack? Or drop a mail to Jelurida? I'm sure they are happy to help people that want to use the platform.
In short though: MS Currencies will be copied to Ignis (See the FAQ). It is then up to you to switch over or not.
Note that this is then not an Ardor child-chain. These works quite different than the MS Currencies.

Also a follow-up question, for the "Controllable" currency property, "It imposes the following limitations on the currency (1) Currency can be transferred only to/from the issuer account", so holders will not be able to exchange the currency with others?

Yes.
