these bitcoin fund raising startups are getting lots of VC money and press but few are actually doing much as far as actual fund raising for crypto projects goes.

What can be done to stop him from calling NXT a scam and financially damaging so many people with his misleading and libelous statements?

Why do u need him to stop calling Nxt a scam? And why do u think that people r financially damaged coz of this?

This is exactly what I was thinking when reading the post  ;D

I like the idea of how we should keep our cool when replying and use the moment to the advantage of NXT--free advert for NXT!

This is how we should deal with FUDsters; they're just scared of the unknown, that's all. :)

Jeff is making himself sound like an idiot and giving Nxt free advertising at the same time.  Could you imagine if one of our core devs spent their free time spreading FUD on other alts, I would be seriously concerned if they did.  Jeff is afraid of Nxt.  Anyone who tries to "save others" from what they perceive as scam coin is just jealous.

This.

I personally don't need him to stop calling Nxt a scam, I just wondered what others thought could be done to read some interesting responses. I don't know if people are or will be financially damaged, but he does seem to be going out of his way to damage Nxt. If you read his recent Bitcointalk posts he says something like PoS needs to be "mitigated" and the Nxt blockchain should be reset.

How do you blackbox test a Bitcointard?  ;D

I'd also like to know how he comes to the conclusion that early investors are "central bankers".

More he talks - more publicity Nxt gets and worse Bitcoin looks. Our swarm team should keep him talking about Nxt constantly.

Will Bitcoin be 'hacked' by September 2015?

This guy says it will be:

Nicolas T. Courtois is a cryptologist. He has obtained a PhD from Paris University. Then for 7 years he worked as a cryptography engineer at the French smart card champion Gemalto. He is a highly influential cryptologist with more than 60 regular publications and more than 3700 citations. He is responsible for the cryptanalysis of many real-life ciphers used by hundreds of millions of people every day, such as the Bluetooth cipher E0, the automobile cipher KeeLoq and the MiFare Classic Crypto-1 system which is used in public transportation and building access control. He has 8 patents on industrial applications of cryptography. He has co-authored several research papers on bitcoin.

Bets should be made in USD NXT - Yes with BTC doesn't make sense, and therefore betting No doesn't make sense

It may be broken too, why not. Good news is that we will have #5 from https://nxtforum.org/technical-development-applications/ann-bounty-for-development-of-account-control-features/msg85841/#msg85841

This is fud against bitcoin.  Bitcoin uses SHA-2 hash function with a 256 bit digest size.  There is no attack that comes close to compromising all 64 rounds of SHA2-256.  I believe bitcoin uses 128 rounds which strengthens it.

SHA-2 is irrelevant. He explicitly mentioned EC-cryptography.

That, and perhaps this marked the beginning of a campaign for his own PoS coin, heh! Eventhough he said PoS should be mitigated.  :p
