Hello DeBuNe Asset Holders. DeBuNe had its first income of USD1'500 :) This means that each asset has an income of USD0.0015 (USD1'500 divided by 1'000'000 DeBuNe Assets available). Not much, but it is a start! Using nxt2btx.com I have the exchange rate where USD0.0015=NXT0.1166. I am thus paying dividend of NXT0.1166 per DeBuNe share. It is not much, I know. More will come soon! Enjoy :)

It is very little, but it is indeed a start. Better start little than big, so that expectation are not built and disappointed :)

DeBuNe will never sell more than 50% of shares, and the income of the dividends of the 50% DeBuNe hodl does pay for the expenses. All the staring costs have been covered by the initial sale of assets and DeBuNe still has 267k asserts to sell in case we need to scale :)

I can't see any transactions in NRS, are dividends still “invisible”?

Hmm...didn't get any, even though I hold 30 DeBune in A/C NXT-PSY8-B4SS-JQ7G-AJD86.

Did I miss out because my share would have been too micro- to send?

If you hold DeBuNe you did get the dividend. For some reason th NRS does not show the incoming transaction. If you had no transactions lately go check the confirmed balance and the available balance, make the difference, divide by the assets you own and you will find the dividend per share, as indicated in the message of the transaction. Do this before 1440 blocks are past since dividend payment...

Thanks Capodieci!

Anyone who wants to check "invisible" dividends, try putting your account (not the password, the NXT-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH address) into jaynxt
http://jnxt.org/nxt/#

Then click Plugins -> Dividend

I checked your account, you have recieved the dividend.

It was paid using some other way to pay dividends, thus it cannot be seen as a regular transaction. You need to use dividend plugin in order to see those dividends.

You can go to http://jnxt.org/nxt/, type your address, then go to 'plugins' ' -> 'dividend' and you will see it.

Your dividend directly went into your account. It just didn't show as a regular transaction.

I paid the dividends using the native system in Nxt, and while it transfer the amount, it doesn't show an incoming transaction.

I learned my lesson, I will use another system next time...

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I promise everyone has been paid correctly.

Yeah, I waffled on this with LIQUID, but in the end I decided the extra few dollars in tx fees was worth avoiding the confusion.

And this shows that fees are actually low by western standards. Asset issuers are willing to pay a few hundred times more, and spam the blockchain by including the same message to hundreds of users.

I think the issue is more about confuse shareholders than fee or asset isuer. They do that because this is less costly or cumbersome than to manage unacquainted Nxt user.

I know why they do it, but they have a choice, and the fee is less important than those other factors. Therefore, the fee (even multiplied a few hundred times) is not prohibitively high.

Concatenated arbitrary messages full of verbose JSON are another example of the fee not being a consideration. If it were, we would be seeing messages in binary, compressed, or at least minified json. Yet there is plenty of very verbose JSON in those, taking multiple messages instead of one, because it is more convenient for the programmers, and the fee is too low to make them worry about it. And they don't care about blockchain size either, or they would have tried to reduce message size even when it takes a single message only. To make them care, we will increase the fees for permanent messages.

To propose an idea here (sorry a bit out of topic).
Would be nice then if there were, in the GUI, a text to binary checkbox (with lower fee if size lower) while sending message. GUi could detect binary format and auto convert to text for reading.

What about making prunnable messages stay at least for a year? It will make the database only slighter bigger and will be almost as usable as permanent messages.

NRS already gzip messages before sending and it makes them essentially binary.

ScripterRon is working on a feature that will allow any node that wants to do it to act as backup service provider, i.e. be set to store prunable messages and data indefinitely, and advertise that it provides this service. Peers that are configured to store prunable messages longer than the two weeks minimum, will automatically look up and connect to such nodes when downloading block data, and this way be guaranteed to be able to receive the already expired (on other nodes) prunable data.

Since providing this service will be voluntary and not needed for the blockchain consensus, those who want to rely on having such backup/archival service nodes always available should think of a way to reward those who run them.

This is only for encrypted messages, and since 1.5 the compression is optional (probably still on by default though).

What about making prunnable messages stay at least for a year? It will make the database only slighter bigger and will be almost as usable as permanent messages.

Service provider infrastructure does not exist yet. And prunnable messages are already here. Please consider my proposal again. Many project will be hurt much less with 1 year prunnable messages.

Hello! We have a dividend to be paid with data as per a week ago circa.

I am going crazy to find a system to process the dividend properly, I will end up to do it manually.

For this reason dividend will be paid only to asset holders with 100 assets or more...

As soon as I manage to process it I will post an update here.

Use core dividends payment, 1.6.0e already have account ledger where dividends receivers can check paid dividends.

Well, not everyone is using the 1.6 yet. so most people will not see the payment dividend and complain :(

Just use the Supernet wallet and go to "Supernet" -> "Dividends+Voting". It's super simple.

If I do that I need to send a message to every person that gets paid with instructions on how to go check the payment at  http://jnxt.org/nxt/ ;) The first time I paid the dividend I had no clue, I used the native NRS function, and nobody noticed, very few at the end went to check. I need a system to pay the dividend based on the share status of a precise day (let say last Friday) and not today, and add a custom message for each dividend paid (different for each payment based on some calculations).

The only way I see this possible is with a shell script using curl to post the transaction to loclahost API. I am procrastinating the development of this as I am very busy :)

Just pay dividends using core and put information about them and how to check them here in thread. :)
