Maybe this is already answered but what happens to the assets?

If I convert my NXT to Ardor, the assets are still there in my NXT wallet. What to do with them?

You can beg asset issuer to migrate to the Ardor platform. Or keep using NXT wallet. :)

If the Asset stays on Nxt, just keep using Nxt :)
An Asset takes it value from the value of its company, so there is no real reason for it to lose value.
Nxt will remain active and be supported.

If you hold for 2 weeks between July 14 and October 12 and sell before end of snapshots, you will get 10,000 * 14 days * 24 / (24 * 90 days) = 1,555

Didn't you forget to divide by 2? New example:
10,000 * 90 days * 24 hours / (90 days * 24 hours *2) = 5,000

Which one is correct?

NXT: Ardor = 1:1

If you have 10.000 NXT before the snapshot and hold it till the end, you'll have exactly the same Ardor as Nxt after the snapshot.

During the snapshot period, averaging will be the key, what lurker10 explained.

Every hour there is 1 snapshot (24 snapshots a day), during approximately 90 days (block 1.000.000).

It should be 10,000 * 14 days * 24 hours / (90 days * 24 hours) = 1,555

An Asset takes it value from the value of its company, so there is no real reason for it to lose value.
Nxt will remain active and be supported.
If the value of NXT drops, the Nxt 1.0 block-chain becomes less secure. At some point migration becomes the only safe option, assuming Ardor thrives.

As a separate topic, what's involved in migrating an asset? Am I right in thinking Nxt 1.x has basic support for atomic cross-chain transactions, and that 2.x will inherit this, so that we can have atomic cross-chain transactions between 1.x and 2.x? Is there a plan to wrap this up with a nice UI to make it easy to move assets and currencies in a trust-free way? Or are we supposed to trust the asset manager? If the latter, how easy is it for an asset to migrate? Will there be some kind of script that sees assets being sent to an address in 1.x and then sends out corresponding assets on 2.x?

This may be a silly question but better to ask than not. I'm wondering if we have to keep the NXT client active on the network in order for the snapshotting to measure our NXT balance. In other words can I just leave the wallet offline for the 3 month period the snapshotting is happening?

Yes, you can leave your wallet offline for the 3 months period. Ardor will be automatically distributed to all accounts with NXT.  :)

100% for the coins you had before July 14.
~86% for the coins you'll buy today.
Both numbers are true if you don't sell until October 12.

If you have NXT in your wallet, you will get the Ardor asset automatically as a Bonus on top of your NXT that you will still keep. If you look in the Nxt client you can see on the top left : Ardor distribution. Here you can check the Ardor that you will receive.

Thanks Wolffang  :) I do not yet see or I do not know how to look to the right place. I'll probably need to install a new version of the wallet. I use the 1.7.4 version.
