I'm in! Thank you to both of you for making this is a possibility! I guess I should start mining over there to help pay myself back. Lol I'd love a reservation too if that becomes a possibility. ;)
I think the easiest way to manage this "reservation" is if people just put in a 10 NXT bid on AE
I am not sure, but I think it is filled on a first order place, first basis, so maybe we can deal with this via AE.
That would sure simplify things and allow pf to concentrate on getting the hashrate in place.

Will the pool only focus on mining SHA coins or is there any plans to transform it into a "proper-traditional pool" whereas people can mine all different kind of coins; namely 1 or 2 of every major algorithm (Scrypt/X11/CryptoNote)?

If no, why so? Isn't it worth the effort? I'm asking this considering the pool will be having top-notch hardware, infrastructure and human source behind it.

The only bit that dosn't quite sit pretty with me is the fact you James will have 60% of the shares, whilst I appreciate you are helping does that not though mean some of the community will not be able to buy into this ?

I mean 32000 is not really a lot of shares is it and if a few people come in and purchase high amounts, people like myself and lots of others that dont have vast amounts of NXT or capital lying around, will in effect be excluded from this.

Its tough as what you are doing is enabling the pool to purchase a lot of gear which is good, but then by doing this you could well be disqualifying small investors from getting on board this.

Could you not say give it 14 days from launch and make a statement that any shares left over you will purchase upto 60% of the total shares available ?

That way the small investors get a 14 day window to get involved ?

Please dont look at this post as negative I think what you do around here is great, I just worry that we/you are scaring off the small investors ?

Cheers
Mark

Edit : Thats 5000 sold all ready

I am taking the upfront risk to get this from concept to revenue producing asset and I did it at a pretty small discount as this is an important project for the community. I wont be keeping all 60%, the usual 10% will go into jl777hodl and 20% is already in NXTventure. That 20% will either be sold in the aftermarket or distributed out as a dividend, so I will only end up with 30% personally. I hope that is OK? I expect that just via NXTventure holders over 100 people will end up with HRNXTpool

This multipool is strategic for NXT as it provides the counter-demand for the NXT->BTC autoconvert payment functionality that we need. Once we have that NXT will effectively be accepted everywhere.

So, not sure how this scares off small investors. Just put your bids in sooner rather than later and they get filled first.

Well, if there are other "whales" looking to enter this pool, I think they might come with an offer to James and pf and will offer some nice additional capital to them. If the demand is there I see no reason for pf to not increase the volume/capital of the pool.

Heck, they might even create Hashrate2.org if there is enough demand.

Great, we definitely need to promote this first "community owned" mining pool.

Btw, sorry for being ignorant, but what is "RLH"?

ASIC hardware is only for SHA256 and scrypt, at least those are the ones I know about. I already talked about my view on scrypt coins and investing in GPU farm is a different type of operation where power really comes into play. So places with cheap power have a fundamental advantage, plus what happens to all the GPUs when the ASIC comes out?

Also, this is automated multipool so the system selects the highest profitability coin to mine.
Now the public hashrate.org pool will (already?) supports all the various options, not sure about cryptonote though. So for people with their hardware, definitely use the public hashrate.org pool. The more BTC hashrate.org gets, the more BTC is available for the NXT -> BTC autopayment module

There are actually some real world limits, like the number of miners you can put into a standard rack (or three). To go beyond what is currently envisioned, puts things in a different price bracket.

Of course, if there are some big whale guys who want to scale things up to the petahash level, then by all means PM me :)
It would be nice to have 10 BTC always funded for the NXT -> BTC autoconvert payment path!

Silly me.. hashrate.org is actually up and running already :-) I've always thought it's still in BETA and whenever I check it's down again. Seems like I cannot connect to the site from my own connection.
pf, can you please tell me what kind of restrictions are there? I can connect via TOR but cannot connect/ping 108.162.196.81 from my own connection (if that's the correct IP).

I'm now aware that the pool already offers lots of different coins for the public. I've specifically asked for CryptoNote because we do have some minor CN mining going on and would prefer to use hashrate.org if it would offer the service.

Congrats to pf and jl777

Mining always has been very popular and in demand commodity in crypto world. Plus your offer price is absolutely amazing.

I have placed my order for 200 shares at launch.

May your hash rates keep rising  ;D

BTW, will you provide the numbers of the hardware?
With that I mean, which miners you're going to purchase/already purchased, how much you've paid for them etc.

We have 2 mining assets on the AE (Ryan's and sepehr's) and even though they are not really operating the same way hashrate.org is going to work they are comparable nevertheless. Sharing the numbers will be much easier for us to compare all of them (on a 1ghs vs 1ghs basis).

Any asset price per GH number would need to be updated regularly as the reinvested revenue stream (initially 40%) will keep increasing the total GH, while the number of assets stay constant. So while increasing difficulty levels will not allow accurate prediction of future revenue levels, we can know that whatever hashrate is achieved initially will be the lowest hashrate per asset

as time goes on, this number will continue to go up. The real question is if it goes up faster than the difficulty level increases reduces revenues. That is a real risk, so this is by no means a guaranteed thing

Is the Asset Exchange first come first serve? If I put in a buy order now and someone does this a week later at the same price, I will be first to buy?

That's right James. Unlike the other 2 assets, the shares will not lose value over time (well, probably depending on the difficulty rise).

But I'm asking that because those other products are quite popular among NXT community. Having some numbers to compare 3 of them would be the best for the community so that anyone can choose what they want based on some numbers.
