Hey guys, Bitfinex_USD here!
The asset will be dissolved. Please send your USDbitfnx to NXT-BQK9-UDGP-2Q97-49H3L to redeem the USDbitfnx for NXT or BTC. Include a msg with a BTC address or a NXT address. Deadline for redeeming is 31.12.2015.
Today I am presenting you the first USD asset on the NXT asset exchange, that will be backed by real USD deposited on bitfinex.com (https://www.bitfinex.com/?refcode=1NrFf6t4Nr). The USD will be used to provide liquidity for traders on bitfinex and will in return pay intrest. This interest will be distributed once every 2 weeks to the asset holders of USDbitfnx. Assets can be either bought on the NXT asset exchange or by contacting me and depositing BTC or NXT.
Details about the swap program of bitfinex, can be found here: www.bitfinex.com/pages/howitworks (http://www.bitfinex.com/pages/howitworks)
Stats about the historical rates of those swap agreements, can be found here: www.bfxdata.com/swapstats/usd.php (http://www.bfxdata.com/swapstats/usd.php)
Forum Administrator Damelon agreed to do an audit every once in a while, starting from the point we reach 10,000 USD in the bitfinex account (https://www.bitfinex.com/?refcode=1NrFf6t4Nr)! Thank you!
First AUDIT done: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=3884.msg72567#msg72567
Second Audit done.
We have been added to coinist.co a coin and asset rating site. Please leave some constructive feedback of this asset here: https://coinist.co/nxt/nxt-assets/USDbitfnx-nxtbqk9udgp2q9749h3l

FAQ:
How to acquire USDbitfnx?
Right now the only way to acquire USDbitfnx is to buy on the NXT asset exchange. If you want to buy a bigger amount, send me a PM and I will put up an order big enough for you.
Who am I?
I am a hero member of the NXT and bitcointalk community that is very active and has been registered for over four years. Due to regulatory risks, I try to keep my identity as separate from this project as possible. Administrator and community member Damelon agreed to verify this and will confirm this in this thread soon. He also knows my real identity and if I go rouge he will release my identity.
How will the USD be managed?
The USD will be invested in the swap-market on bitfinex and this will happen actively, so I will likely outperform the average lender there.
How will the dividends be paid?
Every 2-3 weeks the dividends will be paid. Every asset holder of USDbitfnx will receive his dividends paid in USDbitfnx. Example (ignoring fees): Lets assume there are two USDbitfnx holders with 400 and 600 assets. Now 25 USD in interest was earned in the last two weeks. This will now be distributed in the following way: 25/(400+600)* 400 = 10 USD 25/(400+600)*600 = 15 USD. Assuming that 1 NXT is worth 0.05 USD, then assetholder 1(400 USDbitfnx) gets 9.95 USDbitfnx as dividend and assetholder 2(600 USDbitfnx) gets 14.95 USDbitfnx.
How much fees do you charge?
Withdraw with BTC: 0.1% exchange fee + 2% personal fee (min 5 USD)
Dividend Fee: 1 NXT + 5% of the dividend amount
These fees are possibly subject to change!
How do you prove that you don't run a fractional reserve? Audit?
I have already asked Damelon if he could make an audit once a month, and I am sure that I will find someone very trustworthy to do this once a month (or on request!).
What risks are involved when holding this asset?
-Exchange risk: Holding USD will make you experience quite some volatility measured in BTC or NXT.
-Insolvency risk: Even though Bitfinex is a registered company and currently very profitable, a market shock, a hack or severe mismanagement (like mtgox) could happen.
-Theft risk: I will try my best to keep the funds safe and will use all security measures provided by bitfinex (2FA ect) to secure the account, still it is not possible to prevent every aspect of attacks.
-Trust risk: You will have to trust me to not run away with the funds. Given the fact that the administrator of this forum knows my identity, this scenario is pretty unlikely though.
The spreadsheet is now online and I will try to update it daily

Oh, NXT-9E2Z-J8XM-HKYU-G2GC2 BTW :-)
The first good question!
I will try to structure my answer:
So, why is it better to have USDbitfnx than managing the own bitfinex account?
- simplicity: Several steps of work are not neccessary when using USDbitfnx instead of own account. E.g.: No managing of swaps, security concerns, everything is in the NXT AE account in one place.
- tradebility: When using the own account to provide USD for swaps you are bound to the lending time. To get good rates, one has to offer +15 day terms. This makes the funds stuck for a longer period and also never all funds are available at the same time. Once this asset takes off, the tradebility will be very good, with enough liquidity in the market for this asset.
- competibility: When using this service, the funds are actively managed, thus resulting in an average higher lending rate and shorter downtimes (funds not lent, this is a big problem). The time alone that is needed to do this would only be worth it for larger accounts!
- profitability: Given the points "tradebility, simplicity and competibility" you have to calculate with opportunity costs. Will the saved time, the higher lending rates, the shorter downtime, the higher liquidity be worth the fees, that I am charging for this? If yes: then you would be adviced to use this. If not: well, then you should actively manage your own portfolio!
Regards,
PS: Sent all funds!

So the market and ratios are always changing during the day, I take it.
Interesting asset nevertheless.

So the market and ratios are always changing during the day, I take it.
Interesting asset nevertheless.
The normal day on bitfinex used to have big spikes in the lending rate and with a good strategy you were able to exploit this quite a bit and still making sure that you don't have much downtime. The last few days were rather calm, due to the low trading volume and nearly no volatility. But as BTC is expected to keep some of its volatility those calm days are much more the calm before the storm then a longterm swap rate stability.
One more thing, I will always try to stay competitive with the fees charged for this service, so you will keep having a good deal here.

According to their website:
"The platform is owned and operated by iFinex Inc. (Bvi), and during this final phase the platform is being prepared to operate under a fully licensed model."
Obviously this is very vague and not very accurate statement. I have talked to Giancarlo (CEO of bitfinex) and came to the conclusion that the firm itself has simply no reason to go rouge. The only thing that could happen would be government intervention and frozen bankaccount ect because of the accepting of USD funds. I can't really assess this risk, but I very much doubt, that the additional risk will offset the added return of investment and make the investment an overall negative one.

Edit: To clarify: Bvi = British Virgin Islands and they have a very liberal offshore company policy but are still accepted and respected by US and UK governments.

Sent 10 USDbitfnx.
As the dividend will be about 1.5%-2% per week it is better to have more than a few USD because the 1 NXT transaction fee, will eat quite some of the dividend away otherwise. I am currently considering waving the 1 NXT fee for the first round of dividends so that everyone (even the 1 USD people) can see the dividend!
-

Thanks for your generosity.
We will be following closely.
When do you expect to start providing liquidity to the bitfnx network?
When is the first dividend expected?

I will payout the first dividend in about 12-13 days (every 2 weeks after that).
Also I am already providing liquidity! Yesterday for the very short time I started lending we got 0.15$ intrerest, today I am expecting about 1.7$ (~0.16% minus the fees that bitfinex charges)

This would be perfect for the newcomers and the users that don't "get" all the implications of your asset. :)

How about I send out a dividend after 7 days of lending and waive the fee for that round and then after this every 2 weeks dividend with fee?
This way the asset holders see results very soon. Also I will post the daily interest received + account balance daily!
-
So you already have the first drop of rain. It's a great feeling turning your ideas into reality.
Two weeks lead time should be fine, to build some meaningful NXT payout for each investor. You don't wanna pay .3 NXT dividend and pay 1 NXT transfer fee.
but in the meantime you can start a spreadsheet like this with as much details for your asset.

Reposting a question I got per PM:
Hi,
I'm new to NXT and still learning about it. I'm interested in the Bitfinex assets. Is there a minimum investment amount, or an amount that's only really worth investing more than - like forging, you really need more than 100000 to make it pay out etc.
For example, what would $100, $200 $300, $500 expected ROI be? (not holding you to this of course!)
Thanks
Hi!
This asset is only traded on NXT asset exchange, it has nothing to do with the forging requirements of NXT.
Basically the USD deposited on bitfinex will yield about 1.7-1.8% every 2 weeks. So if you have 500 USDbitfnx then you will get about 9 USDbitfnx assets sent to your account, every two weeks. From this amount the 5cent for the 1 NXT transaction fee will be deducted. That is why it does more sence to invest $500 rather than $50.
The yearly ROI for a 500$ investment would be about 55% at this moment, so at the end of the 12 month period your account would hold 500 + 275 USDbitfnx assets. 300, 200 and 100 investments would only have a slightly lower ROI. Everything under 25 $ would yield significantly lower ROIs.

Promotion is now over! Sorry everyone who missed it.

I have opened a new NXT account (NXT-3CAM-TZGK-8WZ7-FDU7Y) to use my part of the bitfinex balance to provide liquidity to the market. You can now buy USDbitfnx @ 23.5 NXT (800 pieces) in the NXT AE. Once someone buys them I will use the NXT to deposit at bitfinex and gather more USD. This way the asset will get more liquid every day!

How will you calculate the dividends if you're paying every 2 weeks but people are buying and selling all the time? Set time and whoever is holding them at that time gets the dividends for the past 2 weeks?

Exactly, I will upload the spreadsheet later this evening and there will be the exacte dividend date marked. So if you hold the funds on that day, you will get the dividend for the last 2 weeks. This is the only possible way to do this.
The 2 week period is a trade-off between convenience (vs e.g. daily dividends) and higher roi (daily dividends will kill the roi for smaller holders).

Pity - I would have bought some, particularly at that price.

Don't worry, as long as NXT/BTC price stays about the same, I will provide enough liquidity to cater all needs at prices similar to this!

- why "to late" ?
FAQ:
BTC deposit: Just send me a PM here or on NXT-BQK9-UDGP-2Q97-49H3L and I will provide you with a BTC-Deposit address. The BTC will then be exchanged for USD asap on bitfinex. The equivalent USD amount will be sent to your NXT account using the USDbitfnx asset.

how this thing is a equivalent to US dollars unless I canit cash it for a US dollar?

Because a "real" USD is deposited at bitfinex.com. So at anytime you can take this USD and exchange it against BTC LTC or DRK on bitfinex to receive the exact amount minus fees that 1 USD is worth. The amount of USD at our bitfinex account will be audited once a month too.

If you still want USDbitfnx, you can deposit using BTC or NXT or buy on the NXT AE once my funds arrive and I put a new ASK order online.

Then: I will handle the withdrawals and follow the given orders. E.g.: if you have 1000 USDbitfnx and for some reason decide that you think it is better to withdraw them directly instead of selling them on the NXT AE, then send me a PM and as soon as 1000 USD are not stuck within loanss, I will exchange them against BTC or BTC->NXT and then send them to you. I wrote some more details about that in the opening post.

Can it be made automated where people can transfer USD instantly (10 confirmation?) to USDbitfnx account? Why the PM?

What exactly do you mean? The deposit process or the withdrawal process?
I don't want to automate anything, because once there is a server in the game, the security risk explodes! Keeping everything manual will make some things slower at the start, but once there is enough liquidity, the depositing and withdrawing will become completely unneccessary, that is the beauty about this concept!

Deposit just came through!

Please tell me if my thinking and calculations are correct here.
If I buy one USDbitfnx asset, then I am putting a dollar's worth of liquidity into the Bitfinex market, and getting a dollar's worth of stake, in terms of fee generation.
Asset cost: 24.5 NXT
Right now, NXT is trading at ~$0.045837 per NXT
That gives a price of $1.1230065 per asset.
So I am paying 12.30065 % over the cost of that dollar's worth of stake.
I hope to gain ~0.16 % of interest per BitFinEx dollar (according to your OP).
If I intend to redeem USD from you, rather than selling on the AE, how long do I have to wait to break even (to pay for the 12.30065% premium to participate)?
(I will most likely sell via the AE at some point, or just keep this lucrative, dividend-paying asset for a long time. I just want to know how to calculate the break-even point.)

Hey sparta_cuss,
I put up the order just for adding some liquidity to the market and making it easier to buy into this. The markup is to encourage people to rather use the BTC deposit option. That way you pay only the 0.2 % exchange fee and nothing else.
At a 12% premium (wasn't intended, I just put up the order now because I need to go later and BTC price and NXT price was in a downwards trend) you would need about 80-100 days to break even, but I expect this asset to trade at a premium, so most likely much earlier!

Wouldn't it be possible to make a quick ~12% gain on Nxt by sending BTC to you, getting the assets, and then selling the assets on AE just below your offering price of 24.5?
I know this would not add as much liquidity to Bitfinex, but as long as your fee to do the deposit is so high, it encourages this arbitrage, doesn't it?

It isn't really arbitrage but yes, totally possible, also this would increase the liquidity! The more USD gets deposited, the higher the demand to trade should get.
But obviously, I would also lower my offer if someone would undercut me. That is what a market maker does ;) (As soon as we reach a good amount of USD, I will post a relatively good BID/ASK spread.)

Not really. I'm no whale, so I think I'll keep most of my assets and just collect the dividends.

;) No reason to not earn an extra buck. Also keep in mind, with a good trading strategy you could exploit the fact that every 2 weeks on the payment day an abritrage opportunity arises (buying USDbitfnx before dividend and selling after receiving)

The sale price for USDbitfnx is 24.5 but there is only 44 buy on the book at 20nxt
I see NXT at 4.6 cents now, so people are only paying $.92 on the market.. so there might be the perception of a market gap, there isn't any liquidity, nor is there any market for selling at the moment.
But this is all new, so lets see where it goes.

Nearly no-one knows about this asset and only about 6000 USDbitfinex are spread amoung people. I guess in about 1-2 weeks we will see some better liquidity in the market.
Also 24.5 is not the "sale-price" it is only an option to buy, the preferred way is to deposit BTC directly to bitfinex, thus resulting in a price at around 21.5-22 NXT

Ok... I am not very smart man. After I purchase asset on AE, then what?
Hi,
After you purchase the USDbitfnx asset you can use it for different things:
- Hold it to diversify your NXT portfolio. This works nicely, because USD and NXT is completely uncorrelated. Holding a mix of USDbitfnx and NXT will guaranteed take volatility out of your portfolioworth. (Less swings!)
- You can directly send USD to other NXT users without bothering to check the NXT price all the time
- You can just hold it and enjoy the ~1.5% interest you will get every 2 weeks (about 50-60% per year)
- Buy it and trade with it to exploit the swings and profit from the spread.
As you can see, it has many purposes and I am sure that within 2 months, we will have a lively market going for USDbitfnx, where you will be able to cashout/cashin multiple thousands of USD without moving the market!
-
Interest:
Day 1: $2.12
Day 2: $8.90
Accumulated: $11.02
Details can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bSej427-QIqm3ls-r3pIwV8XWWEm1aul9I2ToDIzHzA/pubhtml
The daily interest payment is increasing fast, this is due to huge deposits coming through every day. This also has a negative effect for the first dividend payment: Funds that where deposited later then others, will receive proportional dividend even if they weren't here in the first days. This will obviously become a lesser problem once the amount of funds deposited stays more constant.

In the NXT network, it is possible to send assets. Twice each month, I will send out the dividend with USDbitfnx assets.
Example: On the dividend day, you hold 1000 USDbitfnx. The dividend for the last 2 weeks is 2%. So I will send you 20 USDbitfnx to your NXT acccount. Your final balance will be 1020 USDbitfnx then.
Everything clear?

To "join," you simply purchase this asset on the Asset Exchange. Are you familiar with how that works?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I've studied the wiki page about the Asset Exchange.
So I think I'll manage.

For this asset, instead of using the Asset Exchange, you can send Bitcoin directly to the OP, Bitfinex_USD, and s/he will send the corresponding number of USDbitfinex assets to your Nxt account. Just PM him/her for details. You can save a few percent by investing in the asset this way. Using the Asset Exchange might be the easiest way to get started, though.
Just a suggestion: Be sure to always check the Asset ID. There are some fake assets out there with the same or similar names as the valid asset, so don't rely on the name. You can check this board (https://nxtforum.org/asset-exchange-general/) to research any particular asset and be sure you have the right one.
-
Hi,
yes, buying the asset on the asset exchange is currently significantly more expensive, because I want to encourage BTC deposits, so that the asset gets more liquid.
So either just log onto the exchange and buy the number of assets you want, or send me a private message requesting a BTC deposit address.

I have no intention of investing in Bitcoins at this moment, so I'll start with the NXT Asset Exchange.
I did check the Asset Id before (10294386916428132892). Purchased 10 shares from NXT-3CAM-TZGK-8WZ7-FDU7Y.
Then I checked the nextreporting webpage, but cannot find myself in de table of shareholders.
I hope this is OK.

I hope it's ok, too. Prompted by your post, I checked to see if my account is listed as an asset holder, and it, too, is not there. I will contact cc001, the creator of nxtreporting.com and tell him about this issue.
Is NXT-3JJY-EHRA-NWRY-ALFCT the account that has USDbitfinex? If so, what is the numeric id of that account?

I did check the Asset Id before (10294386916428132892). Purchased 10 shares from NXT-3CAM-TZGK-8WZ7-FDU7Y.
Then I checked the nextreporting webpage, but cannot find myself in de table of shareholders.
I hope this is OK.
Best regards
I hope it's ok, too. Prompted by your post, I checked to see if my account is listed as an asset holder, and it, too, is not there. I will contact cc001, the creator of nxtreporting.com and tell him about this issue.
did you regenerate the asset holder list? I think it doesnt update automatically so you need to specifically click and ask to get latest list
In any case if you have assets in your wallet, you have them, regardless of what any website says

It needs to be manually refreshed. I just did that, you can see yourself now in the list.

Is NXT-3JJY-EHRA-NWRY-ALFCT the account that has USDbitfinex? If so, what is the numeric id of that account?
I don't know that NXT account tbh.

Ok, I see. A page refresh is not enough. You have to re-enter the asset id at the top, or click the "detailed version" link under the Shareholder table.
The account number I was asking about is SamIbandii's account. I just didn't know the numeric value that corresponds to the RS number. By the way, how can I find out the numeric value from the RS number, and vice-versa?
Edit: Nevermind, I'll just use nxtblocks.info, at least for accounts that have a transaction.

Hello sparta_cuss,
Sorry for my late reply.
Yesterday evening, after placing the order I quickly saw in my wallet that I had 10 USDBitfnx shares. But wasn't to shure.
This morning I read your posts and checked the Nxt Asset Shareholder "Rich List" with the "backtracking tool".
All is well, I found myself as asset holder (numerical ID 10135828578646934046).
How about you?
Best regards

Yes, I am there, too. I had not been refreshing the data appropriately.
So all is well here. Thank you for asking.

Interest:

Day 2: $8.90
Day 3: $12.54

The daily interest payment is increasing fast, this is due to huge deposits coming through every day. This also has a negative effect for the first dividend payment: Funds that where deposited later then others, will receive proportional dividend even if they weren't here in the first days. This will obviously become a lesser problem once the amount of funds deposited stays more constant.

Your momentum is steadily picking up, congrats.
The design of dividend paying asset is such that anybody buying before the payment cutoff date will enjoy the benefits of payout, there is no negative impact to early investors.
Imagine someone buying on July 30th, not only they missed the first dividend but they will have to wait another two weeks for the payout.
It all eventually evens out in the long run.
Another request for you is to try calculating and posting the estimated payout as the dividend payment date approaches. This will help potential investors jump in at the last moment.

True for the most part, but later investors that did NOT buy their USDbitfnx on the AE will influence everyone else. Nothing I can do about that sadly, but the effect will fade over time.
The projected payout per USDbitfnx is a neat idea, will implement a solid system for that in the next days.

I've waited for few days if someone else comes up with the question but seems like I'm the only one who cannot see logic behind it.
What do we do with those assets?! What if I have 1000 assets instead of 10 and noone wants to buy anymore?
I don't get the part with having the dividens as shares instead of regular coins.

I answered this question in parts already:
In addition:
What happens when no one wants to buy those assets anymore? --> just redeem them and cashout BTC or NXT. The facevalue of those assets will always be 1 USD.
Dividends are in shares because it is the only thing that makes sence. Most people will buy this asset to hold it for the interest. If you get NXT as dividends you lose the compounded interest effect. Also the interest on bitfinex is also paid in USD, so it only makes sence to increase everyones shares from the balance.
Still something unclear?
Regrads
-
You can redeem those shares? If so how; you will be buying them back for 1$?
If that's the case all is clear on my side.

If someone wants to cash out rather than selling, I will sell some of the USD on bitfinex and send the BTC or nxt to that person.
As I said for every asset hold by other people, one USD will be held on bitfinex. This will soon be audited by the forum administrator too.

Thanks for the this info.
I haven't seen this mentioned before ( maybe I've missed it) that you will be offering buyback option.
Because without a firm "exit method" I cannot see how this differs from a ponzi (or maybe pyramid, not really sure which but you've got the idea) scheme.

Just stepping in to help out a fellow asset issuer:
This is a fairly liquid market, about 127,000 NXT volume this week.
Exit strategy is not a problem.
There are 99 different NXT account holders who own this asset.
http://www.nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=10294386916428132892&show_qnt=
With large number of asset holders it easily rules out any scam.
Paying assets as dividends is a unique strategy on NXT AE but it is quite common on regular stock markets.

127k is not liquid IMO.
Also most stakeholder have 1 free asset. 100 is also not so much really.
Stock market rarely does that yes and when they do it is called thesaurized iirc

http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/upcoming-splits.aspx
It has dried up in recent years, but back in 90's stock splits were all the rage. Companies like Microsoft, Dell were offering 2 for 1 stock splits almost on annual basis. It is kind of nostalgic, I won't go into much details here, but numerous millionaires were made because of the these stocks.
If you check the link on NxtReporting, you will see asset 10 asset holders with highest number of shares, roughly estimating about 7500 assets of USDbitfnx, no small feat for a newly listed company. This is the true love from NXT community.
You would need to spend a few months at least to build some reputation with some solid dividends before you start getting people's attention.
Imho, you are doing great for a newly listed asset ;D
-
It will definitely take some time to establish myself.
@stocksplits: that is not like paying dividends with the same asset. 99.9% pay in fiat roughly. In 0.01% a asset dividend is played at mergers and acquisitions.

With the price for 1 USD being around 22,5 - 23,00 NXT I have increased my ASK price to 24.25 NXT/USDbitfnx. I still want to encourage the direct deposits, as they increase the liquidity immediately!
1300 USDbitfnx up for sale.
Edit: Price of NXT declined some more, due to a retard posting a 500k sell order...

I know that you are not the same as Bitfinex, but could you provide some data in chart form from them? I would be particularly interested in seeing how many trades per account or trades per dollar are executed on a daily basis.

I will describe what I am interested in, and you tell me what sort of data/chart this might correspond to.
Your asset (in which I am investor) pays dividends as a result of the liquidity that it provides traders at Bitfinex, and the per-trade fees that Bitfinex charges, correct? So I want to see how many trades (in other words, how many fees) Bitfinex traders trade. This can be on a per-dollar basis, or per-trader basis, or perhaps something else. I want to see this data over time so that I have a sense for whether dividends of USDbitfinex are on the rise or the wane. Does what I am asking for, and why I am asking for it, make sense? If I misunderstand how your asset or Bitfinex works, please correct me.

There is a small missunderstanding yes. Basically traders that want to increase leverage on their BTC long positions (they hope for the price to rise) borrow USD to buy more BTC than they could otherwise buy. For this they pay interest (called swap payment on bitfinex). This is the only part, that I receive as interest, I get no share in trading fees that those traders make.
To see how high the swap rate (interest rate) was over time, just go to this site: http://www.bfxdata.com/swapstats/usd.php and choose a bigger time horizont on the "LAST USD SWAPS" chart.

I hope some day in the near future, it will be possible to buy NXT assets using Fiat.
This would be so awesome, if users of my asset, could just buy USDbitfnx with USD and cashout USD again.
The endgame would be: USDbitfnx becomes so liquid, that the spread is extremely close to the "real" value and people averse to cryptocurrency swings, could just hold USDbitfnx instead of NXT and when they need NXT, they just exchange it.

I just did the first audit of the account and can confirm that the tally on the account agrees with the tally in the google doc on the first page.
No withdrawals were made from the account.
I have asked for a CSV file of the account to be made available to me every audit, so i have a seperate administration should anything happen.

A total of 82 USDbitfnx assets (incl. 5% fee) were distributed to all asset holders. This time the 1 NXT transaction fee was NOT deducted from the amount, thus resulting in <10 USDbitfnx holders also getting a dividend! This was a one time gift from me, so please don't expect this in the future!

Thank you, mystery guest. I got mine!
In the spreadsheet, can you show the dividend payout as a net (minus your fee) percentage of holdings? I realize that this is dependent upon activity within Bitfinex, but I'm still curious to see what I am getting as a percentage of the asset.

Bitfinex_USD has posted the information in the asset transfer. Here it is:
Dividend total: $81.25
Dividend per USDbitfnx 0.0064 USDbitfnx
@Bitfinex_USD: Many thanks for the first divident payment!

If you own a small amount and your dividend is less than 1 NXT, does payout get paused and your balance accumulate, or does it just cancel out so that you never get anything?
Please ignore me - I need to engage my brain before asking questions. I skimmed my transactions and saw 0.something dividend and for some reason assumed that was 0.something NTX, but of course it is denominated in USD not NXT.

Got the dividend payment. Keep up the good work ;)

Received dividend. That's great!
And what I like is that all can easily be monitored on nxtreporting.com.

Wish you lots of succes!

Nxtreporting is a really awesome site, yes. Really smooth and intuitive handling!
Thank you, sir! I hope this takes off and we can reach a capitalization of >100,000 USD , so that liquidity on the market will be a non-issue.

Check my math, but I think that is an annual rate of 47-67%!!!! :o

Yes, the currently expected yearly return will be around this percentage. But this is obviously depending on the development of the swap rate on bitfinex.

USDbitfnx is a great asset, but it is not about buying NXT (actually it is about selling NXT or BTC).

Yes, and 23 NXT * 0.00007550 * 585 = 1,015 USD

Is there enough liquidity to buy the assets directly on the AE? Would think about joining your project if my order gets filled - would make it little below USD 1 ;)

Well, I will always offer USDbitfnx at around 2-5% markup, you can also send funds to my account directly. But for small amounts of funds you are best off not buying it really. 1 USDbitfnx is even to small to receive interest, because the 1 NXT fee would be higher than the dividend!
-
I wasn't talking about investing 1 US-Dollar :)
I invest if you offer me a sell order in the AE at 22.80 or if I can send you 2280 Nxt - both equal 100 assets at current market rates.
-

Oh, yeah I missinterpreted that. Sorry.
What happens when you send NXT to me is I will sell it on BTER, send to bitfinex and sell for USD. Whatever amount gets to bitfinex is what you get. No fees charged from my side. That being said, you will probally get a worse rate than 22.8 due to slippage and exchange fees.
I am not running a bucket shop, so I can't sell USDbitfnx without transfering USD to bitfinex. So I can't just sell USDbitfnx @ cost, as I also need to cover my fees. But, you can offer a BID on the AE and one of the existing stakeholder could sell into you, or the price could move again ;)

When I look at your overview sheet there seems to a a slight decrease in interest per day (%) over time, although the ballance is incresing (also slightly). Is there a reason for this or is this only an randon effect?
-
The daily interest rate the borrowers are willing to pay is decreasing. This is most likely die to stagnant markets.

I'm curious if the estimated 60% return per year takes into account the compounding? If so, is it compounding every week, or does it depend on how long you loan out the swaps on bitfinex?
-
Swap payments on bitfinex are simple interest . but I loan it out instantly after receiving interest. Thus makes the stream like compounding interest.

Hello
As a small investor in your Asset I would like to ask a question. Please forgive me if this seems uninformed, however I am new to NXT and the AE.
Questions :
1) As your assets are held in USD, how are you hedged against a NXT price rise to (for example only : NXT 1.00 : USD 10) compared to the current price of approx NXT 1 : USD 0.04) ?
2) How will the asset price be affected if NXT goes to NXT1 : USD 10 considering the underlying asset is in USD ?
3) Will the Asset price reduce accordingly, as the underlying asset is USD, negating the asset holders opportunity to take advantage of a rising NXT : USD rate ?
Thanks for the great returns to date - well received

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe that
-if nxt price goes to 10 usd, then usdbitfenix price drops to 0.1nxt
-if nxt drops to 0.001 usd, then usdbitfenix price goes to 1000nxt,
-it is safe, if nxt completely dies, then you could cash out for btc
all that the asset exchange listing does is make it easy to manage
-
Correct, irontiga. The assetprise is the inverse of Bitcoinprice*NXT/BTC.
Example: Bitcoinprice= 500$
NXT/BTC = 0.00005
Asset price = 1 / (500*0.00005) = 40NXT
-
I might have missed it, but how does one cash out?
Just send you a PM, send the asset back and recieve BTC/NXT at a chosen adress?
-
I might have missed it, but how does one cash out?
Just send you a PM, send the asset back and recieve BTC/NXT at a chosen adress?
Exactly. The current fee for that is
BTC: 0.1% exchange fee + 0.5% personal fee
NXT: 0.1% + 0.2% exchangefee + 0.5% personal fee
But you can always post a sell offer on the asset exchange and thus try to get a better price. Once this asset has much liquidity, it will always be possible to find a counterparty, because cashing out will give you 99.2% of the asset and most people will be happy to pay more than 0.992 USD per USD :D

Nothing is wrong. I will be back at home in a few days from the businesstrip. My hotel has very shitty internet and I dislike logging into sensitive accounts from non-secure lines.
Will update the spreadsheet now.
Also once I am home I will contact damelon and we will do the second auditing.
Sorry guys, I know this looks very unprofessionally.

I don't use Flash return rates. But even the Fixed return rates are down big time, due to the uncertainty in the markets.
Usually I am 10-15% over FRR

How can you get higher rates than FRR is there's already people often offering loans for less than the FRR?
-
With a good strategy of loaning, you can certainly fetch loans that pay above the market rates ;)
-
So, dividends today?
Also, when's the next audit due? It was supposed to be once a month, right?

What do you mean? There are often sell (lend) offers even under the FRR, how do you expect to get much than the FRR? Nobody would accept those offers.

Atm I am extremely close to the FRR. But once the loans are pretty volatile, there is quite a big spread between FRR and Fixed loans.

The interest is basically compounded daily, as I reinvest USD once it hits the 10 USD treshhold. (This happens every 3 days or once another loan runs out)

Also, have you seen the new dividend payment system located inside the nxtServices MGW build?
Yes, but this only works for NXT dividends, not asset dividends afaik.

Recap:
Asset ID:10294386916428132892
The USDbitfnx asset ran successfully for over 100 days and has achieved a compounded 9.15% interest in those 107 days and 833$ paid out and 52$ pending dividend.
Now we can calculate the average yearly return, that we can expect with this asset: 1.0915^(365/107) = 1.348 = 34,8% yearly interest!
Reminder: USDbitfnx is a USD backed asset, that has deposits on Bitfinex and uses that USD to participate in the swap market on that site. This currently yields 34.8% yearly with USDbitfnx's swapping strategy. The balance is always 100% and this was/is audited by Damelon.
There are two ways to get USDbitfnx:
- Send NXT or BTC to me, those will be sent to Bitfinex and exchanged for USD, you will get USDbitfnx tokens into your account.
- Buy them on the exchange.
(Both ways are also open for selling/redeeming the asset)
Why would you buy USDbitfnx?
- With USDbitfnx, you can speculate on falling BTC and NXT prices
- Gain more interest than on a bank account via dividends
- Trading gains (this asset was once sold for 17 NXT, now it is worth over 50 NXT, so much volatility)
Update: I have placed a sell order with the issuer account. Once someone buys USDbitfnx from that offer, the NXT will be immediately sold and transferred to Bitfinex.
-
Why should you hold USDbitfnx in your portfolio?
Dividend paying USD asset (backed by bitfinex swaps): https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=3884.0

Lets assume the following:
Investor A holds 50000 USD and wants to invest into the following 3 assets for exactly 1 year
-Riskfree rate is 5% (this is way to high obvious)
-Asset 1 = USDbitfnx --> 35% expected return with a SD of 10% (Sharperatio = 3.5)
-Asset 2 = NXT --> 100% expected return with a SD of 50% (Sharperatio = 2)
Also: No shorting is allowed.
He will allocate his funds in the following way, if he wants a return of (with the minimum portfolio variance):
ROI = 10%: RF=43240$ Asset1=6030$ Asset2=730$
ROI = 20%: RF=29723$ Asset1=18095$ Asset2=2180$
ROI = 30%: RF=16206$ Asset1=30159$ Asset2=3633$
ROI = 40%: RF=2688$ Asset1=42223$ Asset2=5087$
ROI = 50%: RF= 0$ Asset1=37500$ Asset2=12500$
Optimal Portfolio of only Asset 1 + Asset 2:
Asset 1: 89.25% Asset 2: 10.75%
This portfolio has a SD of 11% and a expected rate of return of 42%. (Sharperatio = 3.82)

You can clearly see, that under this assumptions the addition of USDbitfnx to the NXT portfolio has an extraordinary reward/risk ratio. Even if you tilt the number to extreme scenarios, you should still add considerable amounts of your portfolio into an asset like USDbitfnx.
Thank you for the attention

Business as usual. I updated the spreadsheet and I try to maximize the return of the swapping.
The asset is seeing some funds inflowing finally, we might see 10000 USD soon.

Updated the spreadsheet. We now are over 10,000 USD again!
Next step 15,000 USD!

I wanted to buy more for KNS, but there are bids for 6% and 7% up from the fund's value already, which aren't being filled. When can we expect an entry closer to 3-5%?

I put up 1000 USDbitfnx @ 52.5 NXT. If 1 NXT = 0.02$ this is about +5%
-
Added a 2000 USDbitfnx @51.5 NXT
-
Added 2000 USDbitfnx @49.5 NXT
will update the spreadsheet now.
-
Sold the 2000 USDbitfnx @ 49.5 already. Put up another 5000 USDbitfnx @ 49.5

It sure felt better having 250 sell orders. With 5000 and then 2000 orders I sure having doubts of ever getting ROI. Would it be possible to reduce those somewhat? Thanks.

I am not following?
The 5000 or 2000 USDbitfnx sell offers I am putting up are only up until the price comes close to it, then I will remove it. If the price for 1 USD goes to 70 NXT tomorrow, I will obviously cancel all orders. So if the price increases, you will most definately get a ROI. Also you will get a ROI from the Dividends, I am paying out.
-
As the BTC price keeps increasing, I put up a new sellorder for 2000 USDbitfnx @ 48.5 NXT
-
Dividend will be paid approximately on the 15th of November.

PS: This time I paid for the transaction fees myself, because I heard, that with the 1.4. release there will be bulk dividend transaction that will be much cheaper. Looking forward to that.

looking promising, when will the next dividend be payed?

There is currently USDbitfnx offered at a 10% discount. Someone should snatch it up ;)

Any updates?
Also, can we still cash out in BTC? Or in NXT for that matter? Seems that information disappeared from the OP?
Thanks!

For bigger amounts sure. But some people started sending back 30 USDbitfnx. I don't have time for that.
If you have below 1 BTC, just tell me and I will buy them from you personally a little under market.

I am a hero member of the NXT and bitcointalk community that is very active and has been registered for over four years.
Requested a swap a couple days ago, just leaving this here as the usdbitfnx account hasn't logged in for like 3 weeks. Check the PMs pls. TY

i am confused. You say "Requested a swap a couple days ago" but I only got a PM from your right now and you sent funds less than 24 hours ago to the account I only check once every week ;)
Anyway, will process the withdrawal asap. Once again, the speed depends only on the active swaps.

Ahh well what probably happened is I am experiencing some sort of time warp. The holidays have been doing that to me. I think what has happened is that I live a day ahead and I must have had a full sleep cycle and most of a day before you read this. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you had been slow. I just saw "Dec 16th" on the profile and probably conflated two things that didn't exist.
For the record the reason why I am selling is not a lack of faith in USDbitfnx, I like USDbitfinx a lot. But because I need the money to cover for my fund.

I sent the BTC printshop

Confirmed, yes. I will be accumulating this again, as time goes by. I wouldn't have sold but SafeHash is probably going to need the money soon ^^

next Dividends ?
what's new ?
-
Can I get some for free please? :D
-
next Dividends ?
what's new ?
I'll update now, but I will only pay out once atleast 100 USD are earned. Doesn't make much sense to burn so much NXT in transaction fees.
Can I get some for free please? :D
I am running promotions from time to time, but I can't give away free assets randomly ;) Also I am not earning much anyway on this asset.

not sure when the core will support asset dividends, if ever, so then the cost indeed is an issue

Hello USDbitfinex team,
When was the last dividend pay-out? I didn't receive dividend for February.
Is there some kind of delay?
Kind regards,

There was no dividend in february, because of low swap interest rates.
Please check this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bSej427-QIqm3ls-r3pIwV8XWWEm1aul9I2ToDIzHzA/pubhtml
Once 100$ are accumulated, it will be paid out.

As always, you can buy USDbitfnx directly from me. Just PM me, I can take NXT or BTC.
-
Hey Bitfinex,
would you mind answering PMs I sent you?
Thanks and regards,
mudshark
-
how about bitfinex btc?
-
how about bitfinex btc?
Possible, but the returns of bitfinexBTC are usually quite low. Only in very big downtrends is the rate above 0.01% per day.
-
Spreadsheet updated.
We accumulated a nice 2% return this month already.
Nearly 300 days running! In two months we will have the full year.
-
Dividend Paid!
2.42 % per asset.
-
Thank you!
-
Sorry for bothering again but would you mind taking care of my PM from last weekend?
Thanks and regards,
Matthias

Responded.
also updated the spreadsheet.

Would you consider doing a swap 1:1 with coinoUSD as a cash-out option?
Perhaps with a minimum (50 or so?) to avoid wasting time.
I think this would help the liquidity of your asset a lot.

How would this work? I have funds on Bitfinex, I can't just magically swap Bitfinex --> CoinoUSD myself. So, not possible

Dividend paid!

Is this asset still active and being maintained?

Is it correct that buying this asset is the same as a USD based hedge.
So the value of the 10294386916428132892 is $1USD?
Or can this deviate?

Can the asset be transferred to USD?
Upon sale or only through the NXT market?
I was thinking to buy NuBits to get a digital currency USD based.
Is this the same as that using NXT?
What another options do i have within NXT to hold a USD equivalent?
Thanks..
