...B. If such scale of growth continues, we will become unsustainable around 4 months from now at which point we'll need to shut doors to new sign ups and sustain our present user base. This will become a major problem as we won't have a potential for growth or further monetizing....
Sry, but could you elaborate on this a little w/o spilling any trade secrets?
I'll probably require a graph to explain this but lets hope a wall of text does the job.
Startups in their early stage have the challenge of cracking a number of problems ,
1. Product development.
2. User Acquisition
3. Monetization.
Large troves of users can't be acquired without good products.
Good products can't be of any use unless there are sufficient users.
So points 1 & 2 are a chicken and egg problem.
In case you noticed how we've approached this, we had a user base with basic, tools on since last year. With our last round of funding we had developed the "product" and thereby leveraged it to further elevate our user base.
Start-ups in a freemium model (eg : snapchat, whatsapp, facebook etc) , always reach a point where they have to clearly define how they will monetize their user base as things scale. FS is currently in that stage. We intend to create an advertising suite for potential advertisers to make an easy and intuitive platform for them to buy ads, track its delivery and see how effective it is - all without our involvement.
If we continue to go at the growth rate we are at right now, without cracking the monetizing aspect, it will be a lot like a man on steroids. Its unhealthy growth. We had our emphasis on growth and the product so far, and currently our emphasis is on the monetizing aspect.
Admittedly, we have a MAJOR project coming out from our stable soon, so for the moment, I haven't listed any shares on sale. I'll be posting updates on it by tomorrow.
For the user that posted before that :
The figures on the site are from Jan 2015. We are a small team of 3, so its often hard to update tiny bits. We have stopped taking support tickets from social media channels to streamline our efforts for instance. The numbers in the first slot of the financials section explain the potential revenue generatable from te user base we have - comes to around 65k, under ideal situations. Sadly we are far from there and our primary focus is to inch closer to that.
