Project updates as per 5th October 2014
I have been pending this project update intentionally, primarily because I wanted to post the announcement regarding our updated front end. The new update intends to make the website more aesthetically appealing and make the billing pages less of a pain in the ass to deal with. Sadly gamecp's constraints force us to work longer and deliver updates a while later than the stipulated time. The new update will be up over the next 48 hours and we'll be all set for marketing
MarketingWe have been laying on the low in terms of marketing as we've been waiting on the new site to kick in before going all out on marketing.
However we've got back on facebook in terms of advertising. I've been approaching a consultant in regards to this. With his assistance we've been able to get targeted likes (those with interest in the games we offer from USA) for around 20 cents. The standard industry rate is at 3-4 usd for such likes, so I'd say we're pretty effective on that end. In addition I'll be running another 100 USD campaign on reddit over the next week. I received a coupon for this campaign for free - so that's a zero spend ad campaign going on. However we've had minor communities picking up on the NY server and we've had a fair surge in the number of hits on the server over the past week. We'll have substantial numbers to show over the next few weeks.
Please do follow us on twitter and facebook if you haven't already
Project Road-Map1. We intend to announce team sponsorships soon. We will be on the hunt for teams that are worth sponsoring from today. Teams will be analyzed on their popularity on various outlets like Facebook, forums , twitter and their over all gaming ability. If seen fit, they will be offered VIP servers on our platform for free. In addition a group on the forum we've been working on will be allocated to them. Members of the forum will be allowed to sponsor teams via Nxt payments made directly to us. In exchange the teams will promote Nxt, Freebieservers or the start-up you are working with. We intend to sponsor 20-30 teams over the next one month, depending on the number of people willing to pay for their servers. I've had a reasonable amount of interest in terms of people willing to "sponsor" teams with us. It would be great if we could work along with them.
2. We'll be hosting competitions as a low cost marketing / user acquisition tactic over the next few weeks. The prices offered will be in terms of Nxt . This will garner major interest in Nxt as a currency and show players how easy and convenient it could be to use Nxt. We haven't decided on a bounty yet for such competitions and its winners. Am still discussing the competition's model with my team. We also need a fair amount in terms of man-power to handle things in a proper fashion. However, - We do intend to host competitions over the next few weeks and have the price money offered in terms of Nxt coins to garner more interest into the coin.
We are torn over whether the price should be solely coins because the users will come solely for the purpose of attaining money. My co-founder has been suggesting offering a low amount (10 nxt maybe? ) to every player that comes and offering a CS:GO knife to the one true winner.
3. We'll be bringing in members to the forum over this week. Part of our initial strategy is to offer incentive for HQ posts that add value to the forum. We will be offering 2 Nxt for each well made post, 5 Nxt for general threads that garner attention and 10 Nxt for well established gaming tutorials. Again, I could use some help with these bounties. Giving away coins help us establish a proper economy in terms of Nxt adaption. I'll be discussing other ways we can integrate Nxt into the system.
We are still waking up to the opportunity at hand. We are in no hurry to burn through our budgets and end up with nothing. The crashing value of bitcoins has been worrying me for a while - and I hope this does not affect the business on the long run. I apologize for not keeping the updates coming in a steady fashion. I've been incredibly busy with work/irl things.
I'll hopefully have the new site up by the time I make my next update thread
Until then..Sayanora!
