I'll ask it again, how can we know that you own the server? Can you add Nxt logo on the freebieservers.com webpage (or somewhere buried on the site)?
There is a lot of Asset scam lately, sorry if you feel that I insist too much. But please take this seriously.

I don't know where you'd asked earlier but I have updated my front page with the Nxt logo to prove myself .

Hey,

Our forum and social media accounts are not at all active.
The reason behind this is our small team size. We are a 3 member team (1 is part-time) handling a large user base round the clock. Since most of our advertising has been via word of mouth we never invested time into social media per se.

I can definitely back the userbase claims with database and analytical data for any investors interested.  Spending time on facebook, twitter or the forum was not a priority while we were being flooded with down-time and massive demands from foreign countries.

P.s - In case you noticed my proposal on gdocs, I have mentioned we will be expanding into building a forum/socializing platform for gamers soon. I haven't stated we've already done it -partly because of the team being way too small and having its focus on growing the user base for starters.

Ok, now you have a website, but there were asset scam where there were showing us a nice webpage too. Is there any other way you could prove you have a user base?

Also, Freebieservers, I would suggest that you contact the member "whale" of the nxt commnunity, he may help you etablish for us that you are a legit business.

Send him a PM with my current message in quote. You could be one of the first business that use the NXTinspect. That would give you a lot more credential here.

So, miss two dividend payments and no activity since 21 august (1 month) and do not answer any questions. I guess that this business is off. I sent the ALTAUCTION assets that I own to genesis... I gt them for free anywway. Sad Nxt story...

Hopefully a new service I'm looking to set up within days will stop these kinds of scams. NXTinspect.

For sure :)

My primary focus right now is to expand globally and attain a user base. I have a back-end scaling strategy in place . As soon as the funds are in I'll be working on it and having people handle the forum and social media at the same  time.

What virtualization platform(s) do you use?
What hardware vendor are you standardized on?
Are you using SAN or local disk storage?

(I am a solutions architect, by the way - if there is any way that I could help contribute to this, I would love to).

Hey there,

Appreciate the interest. I've had interest from multiple users here willing to invest 2-5k each.
I am not yet sure about an ICO as am relatively new and I'd like to scale the business before I go for it.
I am in need of grants and PE investments before this goes public.

P.s - A grant from Spaw's Boost would be awesome! :P

Hello,

>Our entire infrastructure runs atop 3 servers in America at the moment.
Each of these servers are paid for over a 60 day time period, post which they are paid for by themselves from ad revenues. We show a single ad to each customer that connects to our client every day via an ad provider and permit the user to avail the service for absolutely nothing during the rest of the time. Currently we generate 3 usd on every 1000 impressions we get on our servers. Each server attracts around 40-60k hits in average and thereby brings in 120-180 usd for the server and keeps itself sustainable.

So with 3 servers, you can handle 75k users? Is the 40-60k hits/day?

Is it already working with mumble?

Btw..nice site

I'll clear some misconception here.

1. We have a clientele reach of 75k spread across 5.5k  sign-ups. Not all of these users come online at the same time. Some servers use only 3-5 slots , some use all 14, some use none through-out the month. Running numbers with my partner the other day, in order to handle 75k users at the same we'll need to have 15 servers live - which we clearly don't have. What we did do though, is bring these users on board and keep some on wait list - explaining we'll permit access once we scale up /go global.  Post scaling we'll be able to bring them all on board together. So to answer your question, am I handling 75k users online at the same time with 3 servers? Definitely not. Its not possible with that kind of hardware, especially when you are running game servers. Luckily for us - not everyone comes online at the same time (except on sundays), enabling us to serve a wider crowd.

2. Do we get 60k unique ip's / hits a day?
No we don't. The numbers I posted in the proposal were numbers from a tiny server I handle in Dallas.  Getting 60k unique ip's a day would mean having a recurring user rate of around 80% which is technically impossible for a bootstrapped business. We don't anticipate that level of interest at the moment due to limitations in terms of size and infrastructure. We do-not bring massive number of users online at the same time as our tiny team won't be able to cater to them.  What we do get on each of these servers is around 2-3k unique's a day. The reason why I'd mentioned "per month" is due to the same reason.   However, this isn't due to lack of interest , rather due to lack of infrastructure to handle such high amounts.
Post reaching limits we auto-block users from accessing clients to avoid lags on our vip users / users already using the service.  Post scaling we're anticipating 100-150k hits a day in average if not more. My target is to reach 1 million hits a day  by December.  (thats 90,000-100,000 usd a month from ad income alone. )

3. Is mumble enabled?
Yes, every client has free access to mumble provided he keeps his server active and alive. All you have to do is open a support ticket and our staff will get your mumble server live for you within 24 hours (12 if you are VIP)

Once again , we have greatly limited ourselves over the past few months due to lack of finances to scale this and the team. We've had major interest and our growth has been organic. I take pride in saying we've spent 0 usd on marketing and succeeded in scaling this from nothing to what it is today. My team works almost around the clock to ensure things work top notch. An influx of money in the near future would boost this to new heights  and enable us to show how this will grow/expand.

As a bootstrapped business, I've taken immense care in ensuring this remains lean in our approach. Post the fund raiser we'll follow the same philosophy of spend less ,attain more while ensuring quality over quantity.

There's been a few users approaching me via skype/e-mail regarding AE listings and PE .

I'd like to be frank and come out in the open. I've been actively talking with a few investors from the forum for a while. They've been doing their due diligence on the project and the team. I am patiently waiting on them to revert back to me.

I'll be continuing investment talks only after getting a response from them. Hopefully they get back to me soon :) .

Appreciate the interest and love you guys have shown me in the recent past.

Hey guys,

Apologies for the delay in response.
I've been AFK for the whole day.
Now that am back -I'll be kicking back into work.

Few updates

1. We HAVE raised a small round of funding via shares sold on the AE . Its not a big amount. It is a very small amount sold to BOOST to bring credibility to the table and ensure we have the right kind of partners on board.

2. We will be using the money to host a few competitions, bring more users on board, improve our infrastructure and bring on anti-DDOS solutions.

3. We WILL be selling more shares on the AE in the future, but only  as per the need for money arises. Right now am in zero need for cash over the next few days. Once I figure a proper game plan, I'll put aside more shares for sale.

4. We are working on an advertising solution that includes Nxt in the near future. I'll be posting my proposition to the community regarding it over the next few hours.

5. Some of the forum's smartest members have been requested to be on our board of directors . 2 have agreed. We'll be working closely with them to ensure proper scale and growth.

6. We'll also be relaunching our campaigns via social media, forum's and other outlets very soon.

7. If you are interested in interning as a part of our marketing division or joining the team in a specific role - Do PM me.

Project updates as per 9/28/2014

Hey there,

I'll be posting these updates every once in a while to garner suggestions from members of the forum and allow investors know where the project is headed  in a timely fashion. With the recent influx of funds from BOOST, albeit small , our team has magically come back to life. Until a few days prior to garnering the funds we were filled with paranoia and questions of how we'll move ahead with the project. Our Paypal (payments@freebieservers.com)  had been struck with a major chargeback and since this was a boot-strapped venture with founders having irl expenses to handle, we were worried about how the bills were going to be sorted by the end of the month. There was heated debate over the route we should be taking .

One of the potential routes we had was an exit for around 20,000 dollars. Given my short-term relationship  with the project, it made sense, but I wasn't in it for 10,000 dollars. I was in this because I saw an opportunity. An opportunity I wanted to tap to the maximum.  As a founder, I'd be lying,  if I said, I  began working on freebieservers.com due to my "excessive love for gaming" . I did this because this was an innovative solution to an existing problem. The solution made sense and over a few months, we tested and ensured it was profitable.   Due to the size of the opportunity in this, I wanted to hold on to this for as long as possible. I lent some cash to my co-founder to have him sort his finances, while I continued with the hunt for a fresh source of funds.

The next idea in my head was to bring advertisers on board. I reached out to a few parties who could be interested in working with us. We had a fair amount of impressions coming in every month. I approached - startups / project directors / anyone and everyone that would want to advertise with us. While talks were slow , I recalled how I'd posted in Nxt forum about advertising Nxt to our users in exchange for donations. The recent chargeback made me a bigger believer in what crypto-currencies could do for businesses like mine and due to the same, it was natural for me to return and see what can be done. I spoke to an admin of my position and intention to raise money in exchange for equity/profit offerings. The admin was greatly helpful in making me understand the situation here and I spent the next 4 days understanding how the forum works, how the AE works and garnered information on potential investors.

I posted my proposal with little hopes of any funding. However the community showered us with love and gave us a fresh breath of life and we as a business will be eternally grateful for the love shown.  Funds came in a lot sooner than expected. We aren't in "need" of excessive funds. We intend to sell assets only as needed as we scale slow and steady .
That said , its imminent for entrepreneurs to make best use of the money given to them and turn their businesses into sustainable ones while scaling rapidly.  We'll be slowly/steadily bringing new users on board over the next few weeks.

To Do's for the next week .

1. Discuss site with a designer, redesign the site's Billing system and revamp aesthetics.
2. Expand server reach across America. 3 new servers across different states will be brought in
3. Research features to integrate into panel development. Approach potential developers to help us develop the kind of solution we'd want to be deploying while dealing with our next batch of 500k users.
4. Discuss xTcr integration into freebieservers.com to get started with community building
5. Sort out the mess that our social media presence is.

The team is great mentally and emotionally - with the new influx of funds. The investment stands as  a symbol of faith in the solutions we build for gamers. We've been discussing countless new advertising solutions for Nxt holders. I'll be unveiling one of it in the near future.

If you have any query regarding the business or would like to collaborate/partner/work with us - drop me a message at god@freebieservers.com
If you'd rather prefer skype - go with freebie.servers.

Hey there,

Appreciate the asset purchase.
I'll research superNet today and see the most cost effective way to integrate it with our services.
I might need some developer assistance as we don't possess much expertise in the field and the team might be a bit too overloaded with work considering we are already developing a means of integrating Nxt into the site's microtransactions and community transactions

Project updates as per 30th September 2014

Hey there,

The team at freebieservers.com has been working round the clock over the new round of expansions we intend to do. I've gone soft on marketing , while trying to bring in more marketing professionals on board. Part of the reason for this is the fact that the new batch of servers we've rented out for the purpose of expansions have just been delivered and it wouldn't be smart to walk into marketing prior to that. We'll have our servers live and ready to go over the next 48 hours. With the addition of the new servers we'll have our footprint almost, all across America and total server count would go upto 5. In addition, we've also been going through internal discussions about a site  revamp. We'll be soon introducing a more aesthetic, intuitive version of the site. Our key focus is on redesigning the sign up pages as our customer on boarding process is pretty tedious and most people drop their carts looking at all the details they need to enter before getting a server.

In addition we are also looking to introduce team sponsorships. We'll be listing teams that are looking to be sponsored through our website. Individuals or organizations that require to sponsor the team's servers will be allowed to do it through us. During the test phase we intend to keep this open only to Nxt though. This will be part of our Nxt promotion plans. Sponsored teams will be promoting Nxt and freebieservers.com via twitter/other outlets. So far I've had 5 team sponsorship offers come through -and am open to taking more.
Team sponsorships will cost you 75-100 USD - in exchange for which you have the ability to approach the fanbase of the teams you will be sponsoring. We are in talks with a number of renown teams that'd be interested in working with us over this.

We intend to move towards the cloud over the next 45 days. I have been researching a number of cloud server options. Part of the reason why we've decided on doing this is to provide optimal service for our VIP customers. Currently resources are typically shared between multiple VIP users, causing us to hold back from giving the very best to those making purchases through us. Post moving to the cloud, each VIP purchase will be allocated a separate instance and upgrades will be made as per demand. This also enables us to expand our global footprint at a much faster, graceful fashion given the fact that we'll be able to make sales to anywhere in the globe - regardless of where our current (5) servers are atm.

We are open to collaborating with Nxt start-ups in every way possible. If there are any queries / questions  / possibilities of collaboration, do reach out to me. I will be busy with getting the 3 new servers live and filling them with new clientele, but I can definitely find time for those on the forum, looking to work with us.

Regards

Hello, you've mentioned throughout the thread that you will "sell more assets as needed". How much "dilution" in assets are you planning sell...and how many times?

I would suggest whale et al at NXTinspect have a look before investing. Also found either FUD or fact on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/freebieserversofficial

Not good reviews. I'm not one to spread FUD but I hope to have a balanced assessment before investing...too many scams.

Hey there,

I appreciate the element of doubt. Skepticism and criticism motivate us to work harder and deliver better.
As Spaw had posted earlier here, I have spent a fair share of time explaining multiple aspects of the business to him.
The reason why I'd gone with it is because BOOST is one of the business enablers/accelerators on the forum and it made sense to go with a partnership with him. As a member had posted earlier - we did have interest from other parties willing to pledge money into this, but it was quintessential for us to go through a proper route as we wanted to make sure people understood we are here to stay.

I like the fact that you bothered to go on facebook and look for our reviews.
However I believe you forgot to check out on what people had posted on the wall.
We haven't been active on social media at all (except for minor reddit posts which has been the majority of our advertising) and truth be told, we don't intend to be hyper active there in the near future either. Like I've posted here countless times, my key focus is on the product and ensuring we have a good server base globally to bring users from across the globe on-board without having issues of ping or delayed access.

Here's one of the recent social media interactions we had lately.

We have had countless positive interactions via the support panel too.

Regarding dilutions
Apologies for any confusion caused, but no shares will be "diluted" to that of lower value. What I meant is, I won't be selling shares (out of the 1million) until am in need of cash. For instance, the 150,000 shares that have been recently issued were up for grabs because I need money at the moment. I don't need to sell 1 million shares just yet and I won't be selling shares without any purpose/business growth.

I appreciate you digging into the business and investigating further. However, I request you to give me the liberty of having 2 weeks time before you judge me. I have worked with my team in scaling this in a slow, sustainable fashion and I intend to take this forward in the same manner. A heavy influx of money means redesigning the system to be more capital worthy and focus on sales to bring value to the investors that come on board. We are undergoing the same and due to that very reason, we need time to allocate our resources and prepare for expansions.

If you have any queries (regarding me or the business) , feel free to pm me or e-mail me or even come over skype and have a talk.

Thank you very much for the clarification, particularly regarding the shares: I assumed that you would issue more assets rather it is that you are only selling within the 1M already issued. Good news...I picked up a few. And good luck!

No new shares will be issued until dividends are paid on the current batch of shares.
I had a fair share of confusion over the valuation and the pay-outs. However, the users here were kind enough to spend time with me and explain how things work.

Appreciate the purchase. Glad to announce we've got a new server on board. It has 3x our existing capacity and should bring another huge batch of players to the table. We'll be focusing on marketing it and bringing new players on board once the new site is deployed this weekend.

Just wanted to let other investors know that freebieservers has been active on reddit. Most informative for me was their post history (https://pay.reddit.com/user/Freebieservers) and their AMA (ask me anything) (https://pay.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2bij6i/ama_i_am_the_founder_of_freebieserverscom_ama/). You could also check out /r/GlobalOffensive (https://pay.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/) to have some idea of what their users are like. (this is just a subreddit for one game)

(I don't know freebieservers, only heard about them from this board. So they aren't paying me or anything.)

Gonna pick up a few shares in a while. All the best with your expansion! I've been meaning to check out TF2 but never got around to it, maybe I'll be playing on one of your servers in the future. :)

Project updates as per 5th October 2014

I have been pending this project update intentionally, primarily because I wanted to post the announcement regarding our updated front end. The new update intends to make the website more aesthetically appealing and make the billing pages less of a pain in the ass to deal with. Sadly gamecp's constraints force us to work longer and deliver updates a while later than the stipulated time. The new update will be up over the next 48 hours and we'll be all set for marketing

Marketing

We have been laying on the low in terms of marketing as we've been waiting on the new site to kick in before going all out on marketing.
However we've got back on facebook  in terms of advertising. I've been approaching a consultant in regards to this. With his assistance we've been able to get targeted likes (those with interest in the games we offer from USA) for around 20 cents. The standard industry rate is at 3-4 usd for such likes, so I'd say we're pretty effective on that end. In addition I'll be running another 100 USD campaign on reddit over the next week. I received a coupon for this campaign for free - so that's a zero spend ad campaign going on. However we've had minor communities picking up on the NY server and we've had a fair surge in the number of hits on the server over the past week. We'll have substantial numbers to show over the next few weeks.
Please do follow us on twitter and facebook if you haven't already

Project Road-Map

1. We intend to announce team sponsorships soon. We will be on the hunt for teams that are worth sponsoring from today. Teams will be analyzed on their popularity on various outlets like Facebook, forums , twitter and their over all gaming ability. If seen fit, they will be offered VIP servers on our platform for free. In addition a group on the forum we've been working on will be allocated to them. Members of the forum will be allowed to sponsor teams via Nxt payments made directly to us. In exchange the teams will promote Nxt, Freebieservers or the start-up you are working with. We intend to sponsor 20-30 teams over the next one month, depending on the number of people willing to pay for their servers. I've had a reasonable amount of interest in terms of people willing to "sponsor" teams with us. It would be great if we could work along with them.

2. We'll be hosting competitions as a low cost marketing / user acquisition tactic over the next few weeks. The prices offered will be in terms of Nxt . This will garner major interest in Nxt as a currency and show players how easy and convenient it could be to use Nxt. We haven't decided on a bounty yet for such competitions and its winners. Am still discussing the competition's model with my team. We also need a fair amount in terms of man-power to handle things in a proper fashion. However, - We do intend to host competitions over the next few weeks and have the price money offered in terms of Nxt coins to garner more interest into the coin.

We are torn over whether the price should be solely coins because the users will come solely for the purpose of attaining money. My co-founder has been suggesting offering a low amount (10 nxt maybe? ) to every player that comes and offering a CS:GO knife to the one true winner.

3.  We'll be bringing in members to the forum over this week.  Part of our initial strategy is to offer incentive for HQ posts that add value to the forum. We will be offering 2 Nxt for each well made post, 5 Nxt for general threads that garner attention and 10 Nxt for well established gaming tutorials.  Again, I could use some help with these bounties. Giving away coins help us establish a proper economy in terms of Nxt adaption. I'll be discussing other ways we can integrate Nxt into the system.

We are still waking up to the opportunity at hand. We are in no hurry to burn through our budgets and end up with nothing. The crashing value of bitcoins has been worrying me for a while - and I hope this does not affect the business on the long run. I apologize for not keeping the updates coming in a steady fashion. I've been incredibly busy with work/irl things.

I'll hopefully have the new site up by the time I make my next update thread :)
Until then..Sayanora!

Oh wow, thanks! These days my multiplayer gaming time is mostly taken up by Hearthstone and a web game. The guys I play with aren't much into 'big' games.

I did get some shares: txid 5377373223182011414 (https://nxtblocks.info/#section/txid/5377373223182011414). Would your offer still be valid in future? :) Interested in getting some more, I definitely like what you guys are doing. But there's still a lot unsold, and I don't have enough Nxt to afford to "tie up" too much (dividends won't come until 6 months later", meanwhile until the current batch is sold I can only sell out at lower than 2, i.e. at a loss). Gonna wait before buying some more.

EDIT: Brainwave: a gaming guild and server for Nxters! Anyone else on Steam? PM me!

Hi Freebieservers,

Looking to pick up some shares, but would like to have something clarified. This quote is from your asset description in AE: "issuing 1 million shares for 5 percent profit shares of freebieservers.com's net profit"

Does this mean:

a.) the 1 000 000 shares represent 5% equity in your company, therefore the holders are eligible for 5% of "net profits", but also the shares will grow in value as the company assets (equity) grow

b.) shareholders will get no equity stake, but will receive 5% of future net profits ( starting in 6 months)

The latter would mean that we would not be "real shareholders", instead you would be getting something like a startup loan.

What happens if you choose to "reinvest" 100% of gross profits in the future, therefore there will be 0 net profits? Not to mention all the other (perfectly legal) shenanigans one can play with accounting so that one's "net profit" is close to 0 (just ask any tax professional). Or rather don't ask, less temptation that way.  :-\

By the way, I read your proposal, good stuff, you got my support on the NXT integration (what it's worth we will see based on your answer).  ;D

Thanks!

Hey
Do you offer 'upgraded' VPS servers?
I need debian servers with at least 60-80 GB of hdd space and ~4 GB of RAM (ideally 8) with at least 4 vPro assigned to them.
I'm looking for at least one development box to use for hashrate, and I'd love to switch the other two servers as well (currently they are using digital ocean).
I already use 3rd party DDOS mitigation and cloudflare, so there shouldn't be too much in terms of traffic (aside from the stratum traffic, which is minimal compared to a gaming server)

1. Yes the offer will remain in the future for sure.
2. We don't actively promote our assets just yet. We will be doing it from the next week, so you will see these shares moving faster.  I understand your concerns as an investor, but rampantly bringing in money we don't need didn't seem healthy for the business to me. However the 150k shares that are currently in the market will be promoted and sold out over the next few weeks.
3. We would love to put together a gaming guild for Nxters alone that runs completely on Nxt donations. Is there enough demand for this? I'll post a thread enquiring about this later.

Hey there,

The reason why I went with profit shares instead of equity was to maintain control over the functioning of the company. We will be giving out 5 percent of our total profits to investors post 6 months .As a matter of fact ,since community building is my prime focus here, I might issue 15-20 percent of VIP purchases to investors from month 4 (not guaranteeing this ).
In the case of an acquisition from an external party, investors will be given 5 percent of our acquisition amount (5 million acquisition = 250k usd towards AE) . In the case of maintaining this as a company, I'll probably be handling it like Reddit is trying to do lately. Profit will be given back to the investors, but operational control will be kept with me. Is this like a start-up loan? I don't know, depends on your perspective. I look at it as a symbiotic relationship between Nxt and my company - both parties grow and at the end of the day as long as its mutually beneficial/profitable, things should run smoothly.

What happens if you re-invest back to the company?

We'll use the excess funds for bigger projects. Eg : We have been thinking of buying our own servers instead of renting them. This will save us atleast 50 percent of our annual server budget and add towards the total profit. Which means more money will be returned back to you. We might also issue more shares (at higher valuation) as the company grows.

I will talk with my team regarding this. Considering you use digitalocean and we've done our research about cloud computing platforms, am sure -we can offer a cheaper solution for you.

1 & 3) Dunno if there are enough gamers here (I haven't received any PM replies yet, but it's only been a day). If there are, and we can get a guild going, my VIP server goes to the guild :) A few years ago I ran a small guild (~50 players) for a short while (though I'm not keen on "running" one anymore), let me know if there's anything I can help with.

2 & reply to JonSako) Good to hear, especially the part about careful spending. I'll pick up some more shares the next time I access my account.

hard question to answer probably but if you got these 1 million users.....is there a very rough ball park figure to a possible monthly/yearly net profit?....trying to work out if its Worth investing

5% of the net profit does not seem at first glance a lot but I could well be wrong.

Hey there guys,

Its been quite some time since I have posted anything on the forum - this has happened because I have been busy with personal affairs (travel , sister's wedding etc). The team has been going strong and steady like always. I am glad to announce updates regarding multiple events on the site.

1. Site revamp.

I am glad to let the world know we have relaunched the site with a brand new look. Although we intend to have the back end dashboard re-done over the next month (right before the vacations begin in America) we've decided to launch updates part by parts / as chunks. The whole idea is to ship lean and keep costs minimal. Although we've been investing heavily into the platform during the past month and we'll continue to see the same trend until the end of the year - the money we've been pouring into this will be recovered via the improved growth rate and higher VIP purchases we'll be seeing.  Our primary strategy right now is to build on the community and the site in parts and move on to establishing a  monopoly in the free game server market as time passes

2. SEO

We are currently #2 in multiple countries (goes all the way to #8 in some other nations) for the search term "Free game server" . We are further trying to strengthen our position via increased activity on the forum, social media linking and a larger user base. The rank in google comes as an added, un-expected, sweet surprise as it keeps us in a strategic location in terms of search engine traffic. Our marketing budget has been minimal in comparison with most of our competitors and a major chunk of our traffic comes via organic traffic. By further strengthening our position in search engine rankings we're assured to see more growth coming in through that source

3. Facebook promotions.

When we'd first started off with revamping the site one of the primary issue members here had pointed out was our low like count on faceboko and how it was a bad indicator of the business's strength. Taking this into account and our desire to have our name renown amongst gamers in America we'd started a small campaign in facebook. We've been targeting gamers from America for the past 1 week. We have gone from 42 to 312 likes with an expenditure of .08 cents per like. Although this might seem "much" in comparison to our other marketing spends (free reddit promotions for instance) - it is a relatively much lower amount. The average start-up spends 3-4 usd on each like - in comparison to them we've been spending much lower. This has been attained via testing multiple campaigns and scaling on what we see to be working for us.

4. Forum

We'd posted on multiple outlets that we'll be paying out in Nxt coins for members that post good content. I'd tried this on a small scale as I wasn't sure how we will be taking on this. I've been keeping an eye on the forum for the last week and we've noticed well over 180 posts that deserve payment. We'll be giving away 1-2 nxt coins for each of these posters. We'll be offering our services in exchange for Nxt payment and thereby gaining the cash back. What I intend to do via such give aways is by creating a small economy that runs atop Nxt coins. The entire idea is to create an experience for these users on how tipping/payments/remittance/transactions work via Nxt coins. We might as well implement multi-sig wallets and have an escrow going on. We've seen some positive numbers on this end in the recent past and we intend to go heavy on this in the coming days.

Project Roadmap

1. One of the most interesting things we'll be rolling out is team sponsorships over the next 2-3 weeks. We've been researching this thoroughly. What we intend to do via team sponsorships is to have major gamers market us in exchange for us paying for their tournament entries and servers. We'll be offering free VIP to upwards of 10-15 teams and use their fan-base for promotions. We'll be marketing this as a completely Nxt backed project and there-fore this will add towards the growth of Nxt

2. As mentioned earlier, we'll also be hosting competitions as a part of promotions in the near future. We intend to use the competition and team sponsorships to further strengthen the brand name amongst players across the globe

3. The biggest challenge for us now is a complete revamp of the dashboard. We'll need to hire a team of developers and work with them for the next month. Our target is to be completely ready by the time the vacation in America starts. We have been talking with top of the line developers in the industry. We've kept apart a budget of 7-10k for these revamps and I'll be issuing shares for the same over the next month. Although we haven't been heavy in promotion of these shares I will be going heavy with the prmotion over the next month as it has become quintessential for us to raise the cash. The money raised will be going towards product development and community building

4. We are also looking to attain whatever form of IP rights we can gain to protect our unique model as this would add towards our total valuation in the case of an acquisition

5. We are also researching a cross-platform cryptocurrency that can be used by gamers across multiple softwares/communities for transactions/trade of items. I can't shed much light on this but we'll have a whitepaper regarding this coming up in the next few weeks.

My immediate concern at the moment is to catch up on work. I have a lot of Pm's I need to respond to as I have been away from the forum for a while. In addition, I'll also be working on a document stating the features/description of what the new dashboard will have and how well Nxt can be blended into the complete user experience. We anticipate major interest from Nxtforum members in the dashboard remake. We'll be glad to inculcate any new feature requests / product revamps you have once the document goes live.

Do keep an eye on this thread in the near future regarding dashboard conceptual papers and the gamercoin white paper.

P.s - I'll put p a chart sheet on how revenue numbers will be like once we do hit a million users.

Adding a list of features we intend to build into the site. Am looking to raise funds for the same. If a private party would like to buy 300k of the shares at a discounted rate - message me.

https://www.evernote.com/shard/s496/sh/446ed7fa-e9fa-4003-b8f9-ee2d81c36312/20a8290d2efe0db5e2e0e9728e32917b

Running throw numbers - when we have a 1 million user base.

1. Assuming 100k hits on weekdays - which is just 10 percent of the userbase - we'll be seeing a total of 100k x 22 = 2.2 million hits.
2. Assuming 500k hits on weekends - which is just 50 percent of the userbase - we'll be seeing a total of 500k x 8 = 4 million hits
Therefore, total = 7.2 million hits.
We'll be selling ad spots at 5-7 USD per K - so that's just about 35k USD in advertisements alone.

Additionally,
We sell VIP to 1 percent of  our userbase.
20 USD x 10k = 200k

We sell minor upgrades in the 2-5 dollar range to 15 percent of our user base. Taking an average of 3 usd per purchase
we'll see - 3 x 15K = 45K usd

Total = 200k+45k+35k + Donations (rounding off to 20k)= 300k
5 percent of 300k = 15k every month.

I haven't added server expenses here as we intend to build up our own global network of servers over the coming months. We'll be allocating a nice chunk of our profits to building infrastructure and team and due to the same we anticipate very little expenses on the long run.

We have a large array of other projects such as the blog, merchandise store and other things that are yet to come up / be added in this list -but this is the most basic add -up I could give you.

While this can be seen as a monthly source of income, what you really need to see is the potential the business has in terms of acquisition. We'll be easily able to sell the business for anywhere between 15-20 million USD if we have a million users on board. If something like that does happen - I'll definitely be increasing the profit shares of members on forum from 5 to 20 percent (yes, i am stating this for the first time) - and be giving them a much larger piece of the pie.

My big concern would be that you have an infrastructure that can scale up and out to support the kind of user load that you're talking about.
I build data centres for a living (well, not the physical data centre part but all the stuff that goes inside them lol).  We should hook up on skype and talk about some of your infrastructure if you'd be willing (I would be willing to do an NDA if you're that sort of organization)

Appreciate your concern, I have been thinking of the same in the recent past.

We've finished work on our affiliate panel as ensuring profitability is as important as ensuring growth and user acquisition
We'll be going into private beta with it later today.

Payouts will be made in Nxt/Btc to further promote cryptocurrencies. We'll be offering weekly payouts with a minimal withdrawal of 50 usd.
We'll be giving out 3 usd for each VIP purchase made through us.

Just so everyone knows, I had added this guy to skype and I'm supposed to be talking to him later about some of my concerns in his operation.  I will post in this thread (and decided whether or not to invest) once I've had that convo.

Been having a bit of a casual lurk and registering my interest now.
Will comment more when I've re-read the docs.
Sounds like a great project and a top opportunity.

Edit: I've had a chance to read everything again now. I like the way you've gone about building the business and think this has great potential. Bootstrapping it, keeping debt-free, creating a community as well as a revenue stream, not getting greedy and overreaching yourself - there should be more businesses like this. It also looks like you're well placed for rapid expansion.
I've bought a small number of assets and would like to get in for more, but I'll wait until I see pf's feedback as I'm not a tech guy.
Can I confirm that NXT currently plays no role in your business, but this is part of the expansion plan from 75k -> 1 million users?
If I can help with marketing content, do drop me a line.

Hey Cassius,

Appreciate you going through the documents and taking a look into what we do.
Our prime focus has, and will continue to be building a community around this. People tend to misunderstand us as a game server provider. We are not.
We are a gaming community that happens to provide game servers in the process. Unlike most other hosts we DONT rely heavily on our VIP sales (on the long run) to pay for our servers. Although on a micro scale the VIP purchases often beat the advertisement revenue - on the macro scale things will change substantially. However, I wouldn't want to miss out on a major revenue source and due to the same I've launched an affiliate program on the website and we'll have a renown marketer taking care of things on that end  from next week.

Nxt currently plays no role?
You are right in a way. At the time of raising funds (in the beginning) - we weren't actively looking to integrate Nxt into the service as we were still researching how to go about it. Currently we offer Nxt payouts for tutorials on the forum, nxt payouts for affiliates that promote the service and distribute Nxt during our events. We also intend to sponsor various events, teams and competitions that are completely backed via Nxt. The idea is to build a nxt-economy among our users as we grow. We are also looking at ways to tap on what Supernet and other interest projects here offer us.

I will drop you a line right away regarding marketing. As we grow, am finding it important to delegate tasks and tap on the skills others possess.
The success of freebieservers.com should also be a success of Nxt. I believe in mutual growth and collaboration and I'd be willing to be very open to every resource the community can provide.

We are having difficulty explaining Nxt to our userbase. I would love it if people would also like to take the task of explaining Nxt to our user base.

The next week is quiet important for us. We've planned on the following

1. Blog post
2. Launch of affiliate system
3. Replacing MOTD with new advertising system.

Thanks for the reply. Will aim to catch up with you on Skype soon, though probably not tomorrow.
Sorry, forgot you'd written you were already paying people in NXT, yes.
Just to be clear, I'm not a marketing pro. I'm a copywriter/communicator, so produce plenty of that kind of material but wouldn't claim I was an expert on strategy.

I'm also holding back as an potential investor. I appreciate everything Freebieservers has said and done, which all looks very promising. Unfortunately, i do not have any expertise on the technical side and that's still holding me back. That's why i'd love to hear an opinion, from an independent source.  :)

Also, as a gamer (LeagueOL) myself, i think the cause for this service is great.

Appreciate the interest. I personally believe we wouldn't always be able to be transparent about how our servers are handled, marketed and maintained. It remains in the best interest of the business to protect some aspects as they are our trade secrets. We have an ambition of setting up 100 servers around the globe by the end of the year. 50 in America, and 50 across the globe. The obvious underlying concern here would be to scale up. We've had a few parties being interested in advertising with us giving us quotes in the 4 figure range. We'll be posting a proposal to the community here later regarding a marketing campaign we'd like to run.

I had a pretty good conversation with Pf . He had a conference call come that day and had to leave. Hope to catch him soon :)

I like the expansion plan, but i'm little bit worried, will the scaling up be successful. Will you make enough money from advertising, to pay for the costs and is the risk worth for the possible profit? If you catch a good deal with an advertiser, how long-term are those agreements? Can advertiser leave at any point? Can those ads be blocked by users? Is it a fixed amount for the advertisement deal or is it based on server usage?

To be honest, i dont know pretty much anything about the market for online gamers. I know there are lots of alternatives, including free ones, but what makes Freebieservers special?

If you make acquire the servers, you have get alot of new customers to fill the servers. How much is the cost for customer acquisition?

1. Will we make enough from Advertising ?
Yes

2. Is the risk worth the profit?
Yes, the way it will work -we'll be in profit even if had 0 VIP buyers

3. How long term are these agreements?
Am looking to deliver 5 to 10 million impressions over a  6 month period

4. Can advertiser leave at any point?
No, but we can work together on tweaking the campaign to produce better results

5. Is it a fixed amount or based on server usage?
Every free consumer is greeted by a single message of the day - so its fixed at the moment. We're tweaking this for more profit

What makes freebieservers.com Special?

Freebieservers.com is different in the server market given the fact that it is the only provider which provides the servers at the nearest locations (via its wide network of servers) , with the highest amount of slots , no questions asked for as long as the consumers use the product. Unlike other providers we don't see our "Servers" as a 1 or 2 day demo that players can use. We see it as a service we provide to gamers across the globe. This has helped us inculcate the kind of following we've witnessed on various platforms such as reddit. We are NOT your average game host. We are a community of gamers that also happen to provide servers in the process. My prime focus has always been building a community/userbase around this since the beginning and that is what we'll continue to be. Going forward we intend to launch a much wider array of services but right now our primary focus is to garner servers across multiple continents, paid for via ad revenue. Going forward we could evolve into all kinds of things. Etc : We've been considering providing the complete server back end for major games in exchange for them running our ads and doing a rev share model with hem.  Another thing we might do in the near future is figure a way to award top players with cryptocurrencies for their in-game performances and thereby be a medium that garners early adopters for games. The future is bright and I am glad to have an opportunity to build it.

What are our marketing costs like?
So far we haven't spent a penny on Google or any other marketing streams. We ran a test campaign on reddit but didn't find it all that worthy. The only place we are still paying for marketing is facebook . Even at facebook we've a minimal expense of 6 cents per like in comparison to an average of 3 usd per like. The domain name gives us the added benefit of ranking #2-#3  for terms like "free game servers" . Going forward most of our consumers will be acquired via sponsoring servers for competitions and major teams. Most of this is already being done and am sure we can host a number of major cmpetitions to get more members on the board.  In addition we've also launched an affiliate system to acquire users. We'll be providing 3 usd for each VIP purchase and 1 cent for a free sign up. We're still tweaking on the marketing. Truth be told we've never had to market much because fundamentally we solve a problem many gamers face - we offer a product they'd like to use. Word of mouth does the magic in most cases

Just wanted to let the community know we are working on our own proprietary method to set up game servers across the globe on the cloud (on the fly) and have things go down when they aren't being used to reduce costs. This will be an addition to our IP holdings.

We have begun work on upgrading the platform to freebieservers 2.0 . We're glad to announce we're now working with a really good info-sec specialist in securing the system and a team of ace developers in revamping the system to serve customers better and acquire a larger crowd of users.
If any investor would like to see our Asana panel / rate of progress - feel free to message me. In addition, if you'd like to see a list of upgrades/revamps we're building in - follow the link posted below. We will not be going heavy on promotions / user acquisition for the next few months as my prime focus is on ensuring fs 2.0 is rolled out on time, in a perfect manner.

For private investors that'd like to buy upwards of 100k shares - do PM me for a discount offer.

Freebieservers: update

It’s been a busy week for Freebieservers and we have made significant progress in pushing forward our new campaign. We have collected around 20,000 NXT from donors, which has been mostly been used to pay our developer to create our custom platform.

Here is what we’ve managed to build in the last week:

Registration and tracking
Users can register for new accounts (email verification required on registration), log in and log out.
New sign-ups are checked for duplicate usernames and email addresses, and duplicate IP addresses.

We’ve created a database for new game product entries and for tracking the games users own. Users can now purchase games and add-ons with credits. Freebieservers is sent an email on purchase. We also store records of when users gain or spend credits.

The Open Auth system has been implemented; OA users have to confirm their email address and are asked for username, email and IP address on first login (these are checked against existing users to ensure no overlaps). After their initial login and email verificaiton, OA users are pretty much click-authentication (no need to enter any information). We have completed initial OA for Facebook and Google; Twitter will follow.

IIS is set up on a Windows Server 2008 machine for public testing. Our Publish system is successfully set up (we can deploy a live website from Visual Studio). The project has also been upgraded from MVC 4 to MVC 5.

Payment system
The payment system is fully implemented and users can purchase credits from PayPal. (Our donation system works in much the same way, and we have started work on a more flexible donation system.) Payments generate invoices both for Freebieservers and the customer, and logs are created in the process. We have implemented several security checks for fraud via the PayPal IPN.

The user-management panel is under construction. Users can change their password and will soon be able to change email address, re-send confirmation, and change/set their donation IPN handler, with documentation.

NXT
A JSON API helper has been implemented for future work with JSON. We have started implementing the MyNXT.info JSON API (for wallet transactions) and implemented BTer’s JSON API (for conversions in prices). Our USD to NXT converter returns values every 10 seconds from BTer’s API. Our next step is to implement Coinbase API integration.

We hope you will agree that this represents great progress towards our goal of creating a platform that is closely integrated with NXT, enabling and incentivising new users in our ideal demographic to explore NXT and cryptocurrency in more depth.

If you would like to donate to this project, please send your contribution to NXT-8MLD-T9Q8-NE6E-53MSM. You can also buy the Freebieservers asset (id: 784050511394255426).

Public disclosure : All money that comes in through the AE this week will be going through stronger integration of nxt into our systems. If a donation seems too "philanthropic" to you - contribute to this cause through the AE :)

We will be selling  350,000 shares at 2 Nxt each to raise 700,000 Nxt. Out of this 7500 USD worth nxt will be flown into completion of development efforts that have been going on. The rest of the budget will be used for servers, marketing and maintenance. Post the revamps (which will finish by Jan 15th) , our sole focus would be on user acquisition and scale. While we've actively looked into various crypto's as a means of advertisement/partnership, if nothing fruitful occurs by the stipulated date for launch of v2.0 we'll be going with other advertisers (glispa.com integration for eg) and attaining scale. Jan 15 - April 15 will be solely used for scale of the project and occasional integration of SuperNET into our operation.

Post the sale of the 350k shares that are up for sale, we do not intend to lean heavily on share sales for running the company and due to the same we will not be selling shares at  2 nxt. Combining the 130k shares that have been sold with the 350k shares that are up for sale -we would have sold a total of 480k shares by the time the sell wall is down.  This is in lieu of the fact that the company would be practically worth more - with new users coming on board and the IP being developed in-house. I'd like to value my initial investors and ensure maximum returns for them.

It has been a great journey with the Nxt family so far. I look forward to updating this thread with progress we've made on the site.
If any investor would like to keep an eye on developments-  feel free to ping me.

P.s - Investors will be given access to details from the Mynxt.info deal post its completion as I'd like to ensure complete transparency within the organization.

I can't wait to be back on reddit promoting the service with the mynxt.info integration / ad opt outs :)

Thanks for your regular and detailed feedback!

The pleasure is all mine :)

Another major break-through.
https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=6545.msg134637#msg134637

We have attained permission to run our first major marketing campaign - on behalf of Nxt. The deal should land us a total of 400k Nxt.
Out of the mentioned amount, 100k Nxt would be granted today, 100k Nxt on the first of December when we launch the nxt integrated version and the rest 200k should come in after 2000 users sign up for mynxt.info

The money we make on profits from this would be redirected towards site revamps. As we grow positive in profits, and our need for external funding reduces we'll be slowly pulling out our shares from the AE. In case you're interested in attaining a bunch - now is your chance :)

Looking forward to demonstrating the Mynxt revamps to the community soon :)

Public Disclosure : I will be removing 100k shares (at 2 nxt price each)  from the sell wall post the closing of our deal with mynxt.info. This is in lieu of the fact that the money would not be needed as the development work  (mostly nxt integration in to the business) will be done by the  time of closing of the deal. There will be 250k shares up for grabs once the deal closes.

Also, a demo of our new system and a paper explaining our revamped model will be released over the next few days. We are done coding the back end aspects and are now working on the aesthetics/design elements. Prepare to be surprised on what's coming :)

Just wanted to keep the community updated on progress with this project. This has been a huge eye opener for us at FS. This has been a massively great opportunity for us to test our advertising solutions and helped us analyze our monetization for the coming months. I am incredibly grateful to everyone that has helped us make this a reality.

Having that said, there are a few pointers I'd like to make.

1. The nxt integration we made has helped us garner atleast a few users with interest into nxt. There have been orders placed via nxt, users asking us more about nxt via support tickets and the blockchain has proof of multiple users transacting the nxt they have received in the give away. We are  launching our new panel on the 10th of this month. We will be going to avenues like Facebook, reddit and forums to promote us as a business. If the budget of the project can be further expanded we'd be glad to accommodate Nxt in our expansion.

2. There's been HIGH demand / number of sign ups on the site over the past month. A major chunk of this can be traced back to the launch of our new bill panel. What this has often meant is, a large number of users have signed up on both at our side and mynxt's side. The rate of sign up has been so substantially high that mynxt's affiliate payout panel has often gone empty. If we are to continue delivery - we'd be in need of more funds. If the community can come forward with donations, we'd be glad to continue delivering users to mynxt and nxt in general.

3. We are glad to upgrade the site with more educational content from the nxt community. Users are welcome to look at our modals and suggest changes to be made if we are going to be continue promotions.

4. The team at FS has done a really good job in delivering what was promised. We've delivered 1650+ users on the second of Jan , while our promised deadline for 1000 users was a distant Jan 15. We are confident we can finish the delivery of all users over the weekend. We are looking forward to larger deals with the nxt community. I appeal to the committees , whales and members within the community to come forward to sponsor further promotion and marketing.

5. We have a capacity of delivering 500,000+ impressions for videos and it is ever increasing. We have had active discussions with video advertisers outside Nxt. This has a monetary worth of over 25k USD. We'll be utilizing this to bring in revenue in case we don't close deals. I'd preferably be workign directly with crypto communities and closing deals with lead dev's personally. So if the community would like to use this to promote the coins - am all ears.

6. I look forward to closing deals with multiple coins - Nxt and the ones within SuperNet so we can keep our campaigns live continually. We are soon to be going forward with our panel to places like reddit. It lies in my best interest to keep the relationship going so we can have tech like Nxt's coming in the spotlight.

We are soon to launch our new panel. More info regarding it can be read here

Okay, so in the spirit of keeping the community up to date on this partnership, I wanted to share my side of the experience as well.

  • When we started, the objective was to introduce new people to NXT. Freebieservers had a lot of users, and the age range was very good (16-35 male americans). MyNXT wanted new users both for MyNXT but also for NXT itself. Since we are a NXT company, the more users NXT has, the more MyNXT succeeds as a consequence

  • When FS and I started to discuss the options of working together, it became clear that the current MyNXT affiliate system would not be enough. Our system was designed to just keep track of referrals coming through an affiliate link, and we wanted to pay FS for each user referral but also give NXT to each referred user as a gift. Our system could not do it in an automated way, and developing it meant delaying the plugin system. But we decided to go for it, and we managed to get the new system done in 1 week. Communication with FS was crucial to make sure we didn't waste any time, and that worked well.

  • What we did is that MyNXT introduced a voucher system that affiliates can generate and distribute to their users. Once a user registers using one of those vouchers, our system sends some NXT as a gift to the user and pays FS for the affiliate referral. As FS mentioned, we had many challenges, for example during the course of the last few weeks we had issues with the affiliate account running out of funds, and this is obviously due to the big amount of users being referred to us, which is great of course. Not just great for MyNXT but great for NXT, because each one of those users that use NXT, transferring NXT form the MyNXT wallet to FS, then purchasing items from FS may talk to their friends and family and get more people to join NXT.

  • Every time we had issues (like the account running out of funds, or users not properly inputting their vouchers), FS was very helpful, flexible and reliable. We worked out solutions together and implemented, some times the necessary change was on our side, sometimes on their side and many times in both. But it always worked well. This partnership has also been great from a marketing perspective for MyNXT as FS is very active in the forums and he always keeps people up to date, mention our partnership and his excitement with NXT. I would recommend working with FS to anyone reading this, and I am looking forward to continue working with him.

We'll be launching our new panel over the coming weeks

Hi,

I just realize that we can't buy or sell Freebsrvrs at fraction of Nxt, i.e. put a bid for 2.5 Nxt. It is either 2 or 3 Nxt. Could you consider to reissue the asset with fraction price allowed and offer an asset swap? Imo, this is a serious problematic to the Freebsrvrs market. This should be fix rather sooner than later when more people are involved.

Thank you.

I would contact "valarmg". I think he knows well on how to do asset swap (if I am not mistaken).

I can't really help you more on the subject (I never issue an asset and do not know how it work). Maybe someone around with more experience with asset would care to help?

Yes. Shareswap is kind of messy (in terms of getting everyone to swap), so shouldn't be done lightly. But there aren't too many holders of Freebsrvrs so might be fine.

I'm confused by the problem though. Why does Freebsrvrs refuse decimals in price? It has 8 decimals in quantity, and I don't know what asset property disallows decimals in price.

I was new to nxt when I released my asset - there was a bug at the time (as far as I remember) - but twinnerd gave me a better explanation lately. If anyone can help me fix this , I'll do it right away.

That said, i'll have updates for the community soon :) .
We've delivered on the 2k promised users to mynxt and are looking for our next round of marketing campaigns.

Well, the shareswap solution is that you create a new share, swap all the old shares for new ones (using a semi-automated tool) and destroy all old shares.

But I'd first bring it up with the Nxt devs. It seems to be a bug to me. Perhaps they can fix it.

If you have D=8 decimal points for quantity you can only have (8-D)=0 decimal points for price. This is done to prevent rounding problems since the server only handles whole values in NQT and QNT.
Therefore never issue an asset or currency with more than 4 decimal positions unless you fully understand the implications.

Okay, thanks for the info. Any thoughts on putting a bubble in the issue asset modal recommending decimals of 4 if issuer is unsure? It seems to be what experienced asset issuers tend to use, and I've seen problems with using decimals of 0 (rounding problems with dividending) and now problems with decimals of 8. Because assets are unchangeable, and the implications are initially unclear, asset issuers can be stuck with large problems down the line.

When FreebieServers.com first launched, we had a single virtual machine and an idea:  to bring the Freemium business model to the Game Server world, and in the process provide a free gaming platform for users to grow and cultivate a community.  We started using a host of third-party applications to help us realize this idea, and while it had been a difficult job getting the different systems to work together, we’ve gotten our software to a point that works - in its own way.

Once we started seeing that our idea was not only popular but made a good business model, we realized that these tools were not enough to help our business grow in a way that was not only easy to manage from our viewpoint, but easy to handle from our client’s viewpoint as well.  Knowing that in the Freemium model presentation is a large part of success, we decided to start development our own tools to take FreebieServers.com into the next generation of game serving, and that meant replacing these third-party tools that we use to manage and govern our systems.

Two months ago, around the beginning of November 2014, we began fundraising for development of these new tools.  Small loans for specific projects evolved into crowdfunding from the NXT Community Marketing Committee, and this has allowed us to begin development of our own systems to replace these third party programs.  The primary third-party software we use, GameCP, has been a huge help in providing the platform to actually serve game servers to our clients.  This tool was not designed with our business model in mind however, and thus has been the focus of the majority of our development:  a replacement for GameCP that can give us all the tools necessary to provide game servers with our Freemium business model in mind.

Due directly to the investment from the NXT community, we have managed to develop a system as robust as GameCP in a fraction of GameCP’s development time - 2 months versus 10 years - and this has allowed us to customize how we provide game servers to our clients and implement the first ever micro-transaction-based business model in the game server industry.  This also allows us to present our goods with a direct connection to advertising partners and the NXT community, ensuring global spread and delivery of meaningful content.

Freebieservers
Our new game server panel allows us to not only provide free game servers reliably and consistently (a feature that GameCP found lacking at times due to our unique model), but also allows us to provide an actual value to our goods using a cryptocurrency - NXTCoin.  This symbiotic partnership we have cultivated not only allows us to accept many different currencies beyond the USD, but also helps spread the value of NXTCoin specifically and cryptocurriencies as a whole, by using them as our primary virtual currency system.  Other Freemium business models (most commonly Free-to-Play video games) utilize this virtual currency system to value their goods within their own system, instead we use an actual currency giving our target demographic of over 14 million gamers worldwide a direct correlation between the value of their virtual goods and a cryptocurrency.

Now that our new panel is able to provide reliable game serving to our clients, our goals for the near future are to provide intelligent advertising solutions to bring a consistent revenue stream to speed development of our infrastructure.  As part of our new system, we can ensure delivery of advertisement content to our users in a meaningful way thanks to in-game MOTD advertisements served by way of custom plugins and in-site modal popups with advanced regional-based offers. The combination of these technologies allows us to provide premium Tier 1 advertisement hits to any affiliate partners, the track record of which has already been proven via such services as Pinion.gg and MyNXT.info.  Users who sign up for our services are more likely to adopt the product that we advertise due to the targeted methods we use to serve and enforce ads.

In the near future, our infrastructure expansion will likely involve a cloud solution giving us the ability to server game servers all over the world.  Our current model does not provide the elasticity we need to serve game servers around the world, and directly impacts our advertisement delivery.   To that end, one of the major expenses in the coming future is the shift from bare metal to cloud, which is overall a more expensive solution, but has a greater potential for growth overall.  By making direct partnerships with various advertising solutions, we can provide consistent and intelligent marketing to users all over the world via direct in-game MOTD video and banner ads, CPL signups delivered via modal popups on our website, and any other method we can craft into our system without presenting it in a manner that will drive users away.

We plan on a number of additional revenue streams to maximize our growth potential, including licensing of our new panel software for others to use, creating a commodity-based virtual goods betting system, and the introduction of the first-ever gamer related cryptocurrency - backed by NXTCoin.  The diversification of these revenue streams ensures the long-term viability of our business model and the meaningful spread of cryptocurrency to a market more than willing to utilize it in a way that increases the value overall.

Advertisement models we intend to use in the coming months

1.1 - CPA ads
We have experimented with this model of ads at the highest level with a partership with mynxt since December 1. Our users were requested to sign ups and do a variety of activities to garner an ad-free server and some free nxt coins. Over the past 40 days we’ve delivered 3000 sign ups , averaging 100 sign ups every day. From an advertiser perspective, this is major number that can be actively utilized for monetizing and educating users about what we offer

1.2 In-server video’s
We have a combined capacity of delivering over 500,000 impressions every month on our servers between multiple game sessions held while a user is on our server. We intend to form partnership with a variety of coins/communities to help further spread details about what the tech offers and why its important

1.3 Banner ads.
We are able to deliver multiple banner ads between game sessions and on-site to users from across the globe with minimal interruptions to gamers. As long as the product relates to what the users require / the demographic relates to what mentoned, we’ve seen a reasonably high level of interest spurt out of the variety of banner ads we’ve displayed in the past ad we intend to tap on this to further move ahead

The following are 3 places we strongly see Nxt being integrated

Game item exchanges.
In order to further bring in added revenue to the company, we are actively looking at making an exchange for the trade and exchange of game items. Users will be allowed to sell/purchase game items at under-market rates from our exchange utilizing Nxt. How does Nxt come in the picture? Most pay processing companies charge high rates for micro-transactions. Utilizing the speed and low transaction rates Nxt utilizes we’ll be able to tap on to the wide market that lies for game items. Think of it this way : How much will nxt benefit if we see atleast a fraction of the billion dollar industry that deals with game items moving into our platform and have them utilize Nxt?

Gambling + Game items ?
We intend to roll out an -in-house gambling platform that focuses on game items. Game items are commodity and can often be traded for actual currency. We intend to develop a gambling platform that enables players to bet game items and either cash it out into nxt or just have game items sent back to them. We have this at the top of our priority list and will be rolling this out as soon as our current panel is shipped succesfully. Transactional volumes will be large enough to add value to the network. I’ll be willing to share further details on this with the admins, but would prefer to refrain posting much information on this - given its sensitive nature.

Gamer team sponsorships.

Over the past month we’ve had a number of globally ranked teams reaching out to us, looking forward to working with us on FS promotions. We intend to have  nxt and FS logo imprinted on their jerseys as they move ahead with their career. FS will be promoting gamer merchandise and servers required for them to trade. This helps us establish ourselves as an emerging platform and put word out there. Think of the impact the Nascar campaign had on the value of Doge? Imagine we could pull that out for Nxt every other week? That’s exactly what we intend to do for nxt with our partnership with high end gamers from across the globe. I’ll be very willing to share conversations with a number of globally ranked players with a total reach that cross over half a million users with the admins here.

Title: Re: Freebieservers.com - 75,000 Users and growing!
Post by: Freebieservers on January 21, 2015, 04:16:35 pm
There's been a fair amount of confusion on our business model. I have tried explaining via various posts on the forum - and am working on a complete business analysis of what FS is trying to do .

1. Advertising.
This is at the bottom of the pyramid - advertising brings in majority of our revenue. We are trying to get a precise metric on our userbase - but we have over 10,000 servers deployed - each handling up to 15 players, bringing in a total f 150,000 users. Our monthly video ad impression is as high as 500,000 Tier 1 users. In addition, we are seeing major demand from Russia, India, Singapore, Australia and European nations.  The reason why we aren't tying ourselves in with conventional forms of advertisements is because we strongly believe working directly with a potential partner works towards the best interest of every user. Eg : by working closely with mynxt.info - we could deliver a 350% surplus in our initial deal and also add value to our user experience.  I do not want to bloat our user experience with random ads from useless sources - this is the reason why I keep pushing for direct ad partnerships.

2. Panel licenses.
Anyone that's come close to hosting will know what's WHMCS. Gamecp.com offers a similiar product for gamers. When we began bootstrapping work at FS - we realized how pre-historic the panel was . Our endeavor to revamp the bill panel and create an entirely new panel was to beat them at their game.
Our panel beats gamecp's in terms of aesthetics, functionality and speed - even at  a very small market reach of 1000 clients - which is a realistic figure in 4-5 months time. We are seeing a recurring income of 25,000 usd every month (given the panel is sold at 25 usd).  There are lots of ways of monetizing this, but am just giving you guys a gist of why we spent the last 3 months working on our own panel.

3. Micro transactions and hosting sale.
We have focused largely on gaining free users - but as a business we need to focus on selling our core product : Game servers. In the months we  were  bootstrapping - we focused mostly on market research and minimal sales. In the last few months our focus was the product - but now we are also splitting focus into sales so we can begin sending dividends for our investors asap.

If you look at our bill panel -you'll realize how the entire user experience has been made in a manner than enables anyone with as low as 99 cents to spend on us. Conventional hosts offer nothing for low budget consumers and that's where we are cracking. We'll focus little on price and more on volume like Amazon does. In addition we have a wide variety of solutions for higher paying customers in the 20-25 usd range. As a matter of fact- we will probably be diversifying into the 400-500 USD range with us deploying entire servers for communities.

4. Betting.
Am not allowed to say much on this at the moment - but we'll probably be utilizing the rest of the $$'s into developing a gaming/gambling platform for gamers.  and utilizing the returns from there to fuel further growth. I will post detailed reports on this in the near future.

Although - it might seem like we are a "free" - ad server company OR  - "another game server" company, - I wish to clarify that we are clearly diversifying our income sources.

P.s

Your contributions has helped make a business that enabled us to garner 7.5k sign ups for nxt wallets and together we've added to 10 percent of all nxt wallets ever made! . I strongly believe FS and nxt can strongly benefit from mutual growth and that's exactly where we're headed :)

As promised, our new panel goes live  soon.
Internal tests are on before public deployment.

Its been  a tough, long 3 months for us and I expect equally challenging 3 months ahead for us - but it feels good to see hard work come into fruition.

Thanks freebieservers, what you do is amazing ;)
people did not start to use email because it was a great technologie, people use email because it makes their everyday life easier.
You are making peoples use NXT, they will realise that it makes things easier!

Have you thing about esport betting? or esport tournament? This would be great and I'm sure a 100000 prize for the winner would be good. Maybe the NXT marketing fund can donate to the winners?

Hey there,

Yes we have been actively thinking of having an on-site betting platform. It is legally in the clear -we've also registered as a delaware LLC to move ahead with it.
The down-side is proper development of a robust system that is capable of handling things at scale would cost anywhere between 20-25k USD. Returns are reasonably high but at the current state of my business, I wouldn't want to take that high a risk. Slow and steady :) .

If there are people that do want to see the betting platform go live and can help us with it -I'd love to collaborate.
I have a team that can deliver the platform in 3 months time frame and the return of interest is fairly good.
That apart, it is also a very good platform to garner early adopters - think of it as something like satoshidice, except for the 16 million population of online fp gamers.

Cross posting updates from another thread.
There will be a bit of product related news releasing today :)

I am happy to report that with the help of two anonymous Nxt holders, FS has been able to raise 400,000 Nxt in funds.

150,000 has come from the fund I hold
100,000 from donator one
150,000 from donator two

Part of these funds were a straight donation, part of these were exchanged for assets which FS bought himself off the market.

I invite FS in this thread to explain more on his future plans.

I am also aware that it's rather hard these days to find good offerings to invest into, and so want to extend my thanks to the two people who chose to donate/invest into this venture.
I truly believe that moving outside the known crypto space is the way to go. :)

Just wanted to confirm receipt of the cash.
I would like to come out, set business aside and express my sincere gratitude to a number of members here for constantly helping us - financially, technically and even in terms of emotional support for stronger integration and marketing of Nxt. It has been a pleasure working with the community in the past and I look foward to constantly bringing in such amazing results for the community.

The launch of our new panel was momentarily delayed due to a number of internal issues, but we are working hard towards its launch and I believe I'll have a preview soon for the community. Like always we'll be having a Reddit AMA explaining the reason behind our strong integration of nxt , the role of the AE in our growth, our Nxt marketing campaign and previews of our all new game panel. The idea is to let the end consumers know why Nxt is important to us as a business and them as consumers.

I am looking at a number of avenues for stronger usage of Nxt within our business. We believe instead of solely "giving them away" to gamers - we should also encourage our partners to garner the benefits Nxt offers them. In the spirit of doing this, we'll be offering Affiliate payouts in Nxt to our sales team members. Ofcourse, we'll be having a fiat back end exchange but we'll be promoting Nxt as much as possible in terms of payouts. In addition we'll also be hosting a series of competitions with Nxt for the winners The idea is to slowly create a culture where users talk and use Nxt often.

We have a number of major avenues to advertise nxt in the future.
We have closely been in talks with teams that rank  globally closely  for  a series of games. My idea was to be corporate sponsors for them to garner attention towards FS as a host.  They come at a pretty heavy price tag  (3-5k) - but they also bring in massive attention along with them. With a combined reach that runs into the millions over avenues like Twitch and Twitter - we believe they can bring a lot of eyes popping onto Nxt. Think about what the Nascar race did for dogecoin ? That's what we want to do, except that we aren't looking at momentary hype but creating a cultural shift. Our wide network of partners within the industry should help us stage the same.

Offering for potential donators

As a means of incentivizing potential donators, I will be offering 1 share for each 10 Nxt donated to this cause. This is in lieu of the fact that the average share price of FS assets are in the 4 nxt range - so we are trying to put a 40:60 ratio for the fund raiser.  For every 10 nxt donated, we'll send in 4  nxt worth shares.
Users may Pm me for direct donations or have nxt sent to the given Nxt address with  a donation message for transfer of assets.

No new shares will be issued until dividends are paid on the current batch of shares.

Hi. A matter of curiosity as a potential investor. This asset is listed as dividend paying in the asset list sticky. But I can't find any information on past paid dividends. Can you please provide a link to this information in the OP? Thanks!

The information is in their description, which states: "Dividends will be paid out on the 15th of every month , 6 months from now."

Roughly in March they would start paying.

Hey guys,

Am still here. Apologies for my lack of posts and updates in the recent past. I've had a series of personal things to look after, which is why I haven't been online on the forum much at all. I won't make bull-shit excuses. The fault is at my end and I owe up for the same. Will avoid it in the future.

1. Regarding dividends.
The thread was made on sep 21, our first business cycle was in October, post 6 months on the 15th, the date we're looking at is April 15 for first dividend payment. I'd conveyed the same message to anyone that had reached out to me and en-quired the same.

2. Regarding sales
While we've seen a nice amount of volume in terms of "free" traffic, my prime focus lately has been on building up the paid server traffic up too. One of our advantages is our new panel. The only reason we've been holding back from promoting it is, am personally involved with some projects behind the scenes - sales will resume as soon as its back on.

3. Regarding Advertisements
We'll be partnering with a coin community soon for a monthly ad deal. Dividend payments will be made from it as soon as the specifics are sorted. Although nxt enabled us to take off the ground - when it comes to our advertisers, we see things in pure business terms. Anyone that offers money and is ideologically not against what we consider right, will be working with us. We're in the talks with a few coins- announcements will be made as soon as the deal is set.  We are also working behind the scenes with a number of big Nxt projects, you will see why we've been silent lately as they roll out .

4. Regarding future projects
We've been looking at the MS to roll out a FS-coin. I'll be making announcements regarding this in the days to come. Another project that has been actively discussed within the team is something that has to do with gambling and gaming commodities. Am not in a state to release much info on it yet, but you will be hearing from us in the days to come.

We are also looking to completely license the panel we've developed to enterprises or move towards a complete acquisition of the IP. If anyone would like to help us with the same, we're very open to suggestions.

Although am not active here-  I always respond to e-mails to god@freebie servers.com and am constantly on slack.
Feel free to reach out to me on either mediums.

@whale, would be great if you got back on nxtinspect slack and responded to the messages I've sent on 12th, 15th, 16th, 19th february.
For those calling ours a lousy business - not saying we're perfect, but hey, we had Rahul Sood (google him), buy from us last month :)

Hey guys

secureae seems down. Can someone please look into it ? I utilise it for most of my wallet purposes and since it is down I am not able to do a little something...people have been looking forward to - the dividends. The site currently shows a server end issue and I won't be able to move ahead until it is sorted.

Any alternatives !?

Will post the update as soon as the service is back up.

There are alternatives :)
I think that your secureae passphrase = login + password. At least, I'm pretty sure that it's possible to log in to secureae using the first few chars of your passphrase as login, then the rest as password.
That may not help if you don't have a client downloaded, of course :)
If you're uncertain, probably safest to wait.

Edit: Oh and congrats on the dividend. Many months of work behind it, I know.

Hey there guys,

Sorry for the late update release. I have been with-holding release of any major news for a while, partly because its become evident that we have a few competitors lurking these forums and garnering insights into our moves. I figured, its best I conversed through slack with those interested in what we do and have been there throughout the past few months conversing with people.  Back in April, when we began taking funds from people, the promise I'd made was that we'll be launching a brand new panel with proprietary software backing it in order to differentiate ourselves from others in the market. I've been contemplating doing  a complete sell off of the IP-rights for the past few months, but looking at the growth rates in the recent past, I figured its best to hold on to it, as it adds to the company's valuation. If anyone would like to preview it, feel free to sign up and take a look. Having that said, while developing the panel was the focus over the last few months - I'll be dedicated a large portion of the coming month into scaling the venture , acquiring deeper levels of metrics / analytics and pushing towards smarter forms of monetizing.

We reckon ourselves to be one of the largest names when it comes to the intersection of crypto, gaming and advertising. My co-founder has been dabbling with gaming since 2004, I've a fair amount of insights from trying to set up a monetization platform for digital content and we're madly in love with what crypto brings to our demographic. The size of our user-base and our advertising reach has been unparalleled (feel free to check the campaign we ran for nxt) and we intend to bank on the same. The next 30 days will be utilized into adding a new product line / feature and scaling the project further higher in terms of user reach.

I believe it lies in the best interest of both our share holders and the team's to not release much info and due to the same am going to with-hold certain news from you guys for the moment but I will be posting them as product launches / initiatives roll out in the weeks to come. We are always looking to partner with start-ups within nxt and have been working with a few projects, more news on this will be released as the time arrives.

I understand the dividends have not reached a few people. This has happened because they were sent manually. In case you haven't received yours, just PM me and I'll have it sent within the day.

To sum things  up
1. The panel has been launched as promised
2. We intend to keep it private - unless there's 6 figure+ bids on the IP rights to it.
3. There will be new streams of monetization being added in the weeks to come.
4. I'll be allocating a large chunk of my time in the month to come towards scaling this further higher.

Feel free to pm me for further clarifications / suggestions / updates.
We are proudly one of the largest businesses within the Nxt eco-system and intend to be on our pursuit of greatness by delivering time and again on our promises. Your support has played a major role in enabling us to release the new panel and am grateful to all of you for the same.

P.s - There's been some enquiries as to whether we are a SN venture. SN and FS are yet to find even grounds to work together upon, so not yet. That said, I actively post within SN and share a very collaborative culture with SN. Who knows what the future might bring us :)

Edit : The new panel is being fixed at some ends, will be updated over the day.
@dsalina's - I've reverted to you via slack.

Hey guys,

Important update from our side.

Its been over  a year since I've joined FS and the growth rate has been unusually high. Since May, we've consistently seen sign ups to the tune of what we usually see on the best days of 2014. This has created some sweet problems for us to solve.

1. As our growth rate increases to 4x of what it once was (yes, we're inching closer to a million), it becomes important for us to figure out how to effectively  monetize our traffic. Most of our ad deals have been direct ones and we've seen close to 12k come into the business in those terms. I personally work on such deals and seal the deal directly with the business owners. But as this grows bigger, I've realized that we need a relatively automated solution. I have personally played atleast 200 hours of Cs:Go over the last summer to get a proper grip on the product  and then wrote the Business plan. If you guys have read the business plan, you would know that we have 2 main modes of monetizing.

a. Mid-Game message of the days
b. Opinion polls for A/B testing

In order to ensure the former happens effectively, I've struck a deal with a private advertising agency that will work with us on a net-7 basis. This will also deliver payments at 3x the amount we get currently on a net-60 basis. Sadly, in order to deliver these ads optimally, we have dev works to the tune of 5000 USD on the platform. In comparison with other projects, FS has raised only 5.5k so far, all of which was spent on developing the back end platform. I am thinking of raising another 5500 to finish up the work that's left.

B. If such scale of growth continues, we will become unsustainable around 4 months from now at which point we'll need to shut doors to new sign ups and sustain our present user base. This will become a major problem as we won't have a potential for growth or further monetizing.

C. We have the choice of issuing a MS currency, but sadly outside the realm of Nxt, noone cares about it and that's a sad predicament. If users here are willing to buy 5k usd worth MS currency, we are willing to issue them and honor them for ad deliveries.

Thus to sum it up, we are going to go ahead with selling more shares.
I personally prefer working with individuals directly, that would like to rack up some shares.
Message me if interested.

Hi Freebie,

You are issuing new shares, but each shares will still worth the same pourcentage in profit sharing with freebieserver?

Hey Seb,

We are not issuing new shares.
We are only putting out some more on the market place for sale.
I had sold only around 250k'ish earlier, transferred 400k to LibertyNow as escrow  holding (for a private reason) and have the rest with me.
The strategy has always been to release shares only as business needs arise and not to go on a fund raising spree and do nothing.
I have a few business calls today / some private parties interested. If things don't fall in place we'll be falling back on the AE

On your site, it say you served 120,000 ads since your inception. It doesn't seems to match the 490,000 impression / month (for an userbase of 7000)  you show in the document.

I see a lot of projected numbers but i would like to know the current ones. How much do you generate per month for exemple.

I like what you are doing and I hope the best for you, but it's hard to invest without more information

I'll probably require a graph to explain this but lets hope a wall of text does the job.
Startups in their early stage have the challenge of cracking a number of problems ,

1. Product development.
2. User Acquisition
3. Monetization.

Large troves of users can't be acquired without good products.
Good products can't be of any use unless there are sufficient users.
So points 1 & 2 are a chicken and egg problem.

In case you noticed how we've approached this, we had a user base with basic, tools on since last year. With our last round of funding we had developed the "product" and thereby leveraged it to further elevate our user base.

Start-ups in a freemium model (eg : snapchat, whatsapp, facebook etc) , always reach a point where they have to clearly define how they will monetize their user base as things scale. FS is currently in that stage. We intend to create an advertising suite for potential advertisers to make an easy and intuitive platform for them to buy ads, track its delivery and see how effective it is - all without our involvement.

If we continue to go at the growth rate we are at right now, without cracking the monetizing aspect, it will be a lot like a man on steroids. Its unhealthy growth. We had our emphasis on growth and the product so far, and currently our emphasis is on the monetizing aspect.

Admittedly, we have a MAJOR project coming out from our stable soon, so for the moment, I haven't listed any shares on sale. I'll be posting updates on it by tomorrow.

For the user that posted before that :
The figures on the site are from Jan 2015. We are a small team of 3, so its often hard to update tiny bits. We have stopped taking support tickets from social media channels to streamline our efforts for instance. The numbers in the first slot of the financials section explain the potential revenue generatable from te user base we have - comes to around 65k, under ideal situations. Sadly we are far from there and our primary focus is to inch closer to that.

Releasing info on the new asset in ten mins from now.
Dividends will be sent within the week. We've had a major issue with our pay processor (paypal limitation) and I've been busy on the diversification front, which is what has caused the delay. There will be some interesting news for FS holders in the fundraiser announcement.

Ouch! I had that happen to me once. Thankfully, it was a personal account that had only a few dollars or so. No wonder why merchants are so frightened of it. I've read more than one tale of someone's Internet business being disrupted - in some cases killed - because PayPal "limited" the account that had their working capital.

Yea. Its a pain in the arse.
I've been sending Nxt manually for a few people that hadn't received divs in the last 2 months, the third div will be sent over the weekend.
So for those wondering if they haven't received this month's divs, its because it hasn't been sent yet.
Am trying to include revenue from a parallel project I'd launched lately. Feel free to pm me for details on it.
I understand delays have occurred with this time's div payouts. This is because of the limitation and me being overly busy with the new projects. Just a head's up : We've already applied for a new processor, so this problem should be solved pretty soon.

Sent a batch of 6100 Nxt as dividends.
Just saw an interesting issue, currently FS owns around 300k+300k (in escrow) assets, so whenever I send divs, its been sending me 60 percent of the funds back, is there any way I could blacklist our wallet from this ? This could have a role in a nice number of people not receiving dividends.  I will check how much funds have come back to me, and individually send funds out once am free later, so in case you didn't receive funds, please PM me as it'd make my work a lot easier.

Also, just wanted to announce the launch of thegambit.io
Its a raffle site we'd launched to test our "betting" hypothesis, we've seen close to 1.1k USD wagered and I think this number will only increase much higher as we roll out our other projects. Thegambit.io will be the world's first trustless ecosystem for exchange of in-game items such as cs:go guns, skins and other game items. Am not in a position to release much information, but hopefully, i'll release the whitepaper to the project in the days to come. Currently income from the project stands as a back-up in the event that FS doesn't close an ad deal.

Edit : am still working on thegambit.io and the product is nowhere near completion in case you're wondering.

I got something, with an attached JSON message that wasn't very specific. I had to click the payor account to figure out it was a dividend on my Freebsrvrs.

Tx id: 13145728268356296850

Check your own recent incoming payments. If you got one from NXT-8MLD-T9Q8-NE6E-53MSM, that's your dividend.

According to dividends, you made approximately 2135 dollars profits last month.
That's good but far from even your lowest projection :  4900 dollar / months for 7000 user and 490 000 impressions
What is the problem, you don't have enough user? Not enough ads partner to show that much ads? Ads pay less than anticipated?

Hey Bidji29

Good question.
The business plan was released around 2,3 weeks back post which I've also been working on 2 other projects which complete the Fs eco-system.  The projection mentioned is from post implementation of the new advertising suite which is yet to be implemented. Once its on, we'll be moving towards that direction. Advertisements are currently served from 3rd parties who chew a nice chunk of the ad revenue which is part of our problem currently. In addition, as a pre-cursor to not being solely dependant on advertisements we've already begun diversification to e-sports gambling and an in-game item exchange to reduce our dependency on external advertisers working with us.

Feel free to PM me in regards to the project as I'd be glad to clear any concerns.

Thanks for the quick response.
Have you any ETA for the implementation of the new advertisers suite? Is it still en development or are you just waiting for partner to be able to have ads on it?
I didn't own FS asset prior to this month, can you share the dividends of the last 6 months?

I know you're working on other project but I'm a owner of Freedieservers asset. And while those others projects will help you being less dependant on external advertisers, they don't contribute directly to Freebieservers profits and dividends.
Those others projects have their own assets, so I have to consider them independantly.

By the way I have some concern about "too much" diversification when i see that https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/ultra-re-designing-the-forum-for-the-blockchain-era/msg186791/#msg186791
Are you sure you can provide the amount of work needed for all your project if you have so many of them?

Bouncing an idea doesn't necessarily mean I'll do it unless and until it makes sense to me, my team and my share-holders commercially. Ultra was just a system I thought would be worth sharing with the community. From a dev point of view, yea its possible to handle that kind of load, but since we aren't raising much I won't venture into that. For now my focus is on gettning the gambling project live , generating revenue and building FS's advertising capabilities.  As mentioned in the other threads, the ad revenue from there will be directly flowing into this so there's always a value add to FS asset holders. That said, I have also offered a direct swap of fs assets to the new asset in case someone wants the other asset holding.    What needs to be noted is that unlike most projects here with 50-200k in funding, we've worked with 1/10th of those figures and we've clearly stuck to our goals (user acquisition, product development and now profitability). Admittedly, i've been a bit too frank too in the process because it means people have concerns, but transparency has been a goal since day 1.   I'd like to note that its quintessential that we make the ad suite in the months to come in order to leverage the user base we have at FS to grow the new platforms, so its clearly on our agenda. My team is strong and I have absolute faith in what we're capable of. We've been involved with a number of projects here (behind the scenes) and am sure people that've worked with us can vouch on their capabilities.

In case you'd like to chat with me perosnally about any of these concerns, offer me advice or simply talk - feel free to hit me up on slack. Am always available.

Completely forgot to send the divs out due to other commitments. It'll be send once the weekend is over :)
Been working on  a partnership (hint : ads that pay in crypto ? ) and a minor merger.
Too early to post news on either, so give me time until I make progress on either.

If you guys would like to know more about the project or enquire about the status of things, do hit us up at #freebiesrvrs on slack.

We do a standard .7% to 3 percent of the amount raised (550k nxt) every month. Depending on variables such as ad revenue, deals brokered and business requirements.  Our advertiser currently pays in Bitcoin. Provided his rates are good that should help avoid a lot of hassles. So far we've paid 5 months. I've been off the forum due to involvement in a number of other projects. The goal is to create an entire ecosystem around the business.

Yes. Development. Lots of them.
It was a DNS issue. Site was off for upto a week in some parts of the world (didn't come to our notice until the support tickets kicked in) but it seems the entire thing is back on-line at the moment.

Yup, I know whats happening...the owner/controller of the DNS record for freebieservers.com needs to set a CNAME record, directing http://www.freebieservers.com traffic to http://freebieservers.com....heres an example from the nxt.org zonefile:
Quote
$ORIGIN nxt.org.
$TTL 1800
nxt.org. IN SOA ns1.digitalocean.com. hostmaster.nxt.org.
nxt.org. 1800 IN NS ns1.digitalocean.com.
nxt.org. 1800 IN NS ns2.digitalocean.com.
nxt.org. 1800 IN NS ns3.digitalocean.com.
nxt.org. 1800 IN A 188.166.98.134
www.nxt.org. 1800 IN CNAME nxt.org.
*.nxt.org. 1800 IN CNAME nxt.org.
nsc.nxt.org. 1800 IN A 69.163.47.173

Just for laughs, nxt.org also has a wildcard CNAME record (*.nxt.org), so that every possible subdomain (like http://evildave.nxt.org  ;D ) also directs to the main nxt.org. The idea is that even if someone makes a mistake and types http://ww.nxt.org or http://wwwwwwwww.nxt.org, they still get directed to the right spot......and you can use silly/cool vanity links, like:
www.marek3ball.nxt.org

Hey guys

Firstly,  sincere apologies for the lack of communication  from my side.  Albeit  the investment in our ventures  are minimal on the AE,  it is by no means justified to leave stake/shareholders wondering what in the world is going on and am completely at fault for not communicating more often.  I could try justifying that I've been busy building the business but it doesn't take long to come on here and update you guys.  I failed at prioritizing communication like I once used to and am at fault for the same.  I apologise and shall ensure it isn't repeated.

In case you are wondering why dividends haven't been sent and why my presence has been erratic it's because the last month has been terrible for us.  We had our first month of downward trend in terms of growth since our inception and this occurred due to reasons we had not anticipated at all.  While our systems were tuned for scale,  we didn't expect to be constantly under a DDOS attack that would take our infrastructure  down for long.  Starting early in September to around the third week we were subject to a series of attacks that forced us to keep the site down for long.   For those who have been in the server industry,  you might know what a down time would mean to an end user.  It resulted in a nightmare from which we are slowly recovering.  My co-founder  had to fly across states working directly with data centers to host our servers and eventually got the platform on live.

As we reach new heights we understand we will be subject to more attacks but this came completely unexpected and we incurred a lot more expenses bringing systems back on and live -  resulting our first month in losses.

Added to this was a bad case of dengue that almost got me and my co-founder having to deal with personal issues leaving us little space to have a come back within the said time.

Having that said,  we haven't been lazing out.  We have constantly been in the works behind the scenes to strengthen our reach as a marketing tool and expanding our horizons  through varying partnerships.  We continue to believe in synergies and work along with organizations like lyth,  nxthaus,  tvf  and a series of other Ventures where we find a fit for ourselves.

Regarding dividends.
Although we have taken losses in the past month,  I have been working on an advertising deal that is about to wrap up soon.  I will combine the two months profits and send it through by the end of the month.

For anyone concerned,  you are free to ping me anytime and discuss our business model and conduct queries.  We are also open to verifications from trusted bodies here like Nxti wherever relevant.

We have been in the works in regards to creating a gaming economy and we are slowly reaching closer to that goal.

I will be posting updates regarding the gambling venture later tonight post a few meetings.

Am on  Skype and slack in case you'd like to talk business and catch up on our inner workings.

Regards

Thanks for the update!

I bought your assets because I believe the Esports industry will be huge in the future and because I liked your business plan. I didn't even know this asset was paying dividends.

My advise: don't sweat about the dividends and focus to the long term goals. If you made a loss last month, don't pay dividends.

Of course I would also advise you to pay the dividend on time, or inform that there is no dividend. Don't be afraid to give bad news. Transparency is very important, in my opinion.

Good luck!  :)

Thanks for the update.

Every company has it's ups and downs, a couple months of bad revenue isn't the end.
But the communication to the shareholders must remain, even when it's bad news.

I hope you can find solutions for the attacks, and keep working on the project.

Shared this with the community.
Figured its important our stake/shareholders know what we've been into over the past year and how we are slowly evolving into our long term vision.

Hey guys,

There's been a lot of discrepancies regarding our involvements in a series of ventures and there's been a large number of queries concerning how far does the freebie world really go. While we started off as "free game server" provider, the core of our business goes far beyond that . As a company with about 5000 dollars in funding, one of our strategies was to be involved in a series of partner ventures, where we could add value, either in terms of development or marketing. Over the last year, apart from marketing, our cash flow has also come from development we've done for a series of partner ventures. In cases where we found sure-shot synergies and absolute long term profitability in working together, we've taken minor stakes and in cases where we believe we are not going to be able to add substantial value in the long run, we take a clear payment and deliver on our promises.  This thread is my humble attempt to document our journey over the last year.

1.  Mynxt.info -Nxt Synergy

Our first major partnership was with the Nxt community on garnering users for mynxt.info. The campaign involved us garnering users for Mynxt over a 2 week period in December 2014.  We integrated modals and other marketing tools on our platform while completely revamping the payment module to work with Nxt's   wallet system to give the users an experience of how wallets work. Mynxt was gracious enough to offer 10 Nxt to each user that signed up. We strategically used this to garner over 14,000 sign ups for Nxt. The contract stated 5000 sign ups, but we were able to over-deliver, partly because of a surge in users due to the vacation and secondly, due to the offerings made by Mynxt. This was our first major campaign after 8 months of launch and scale.

2. Launch of a revamped Game Control Panel

In January 2015, we launched a completely revamped game control panel that was developed in-house for the purpose of enabling gamers to have better access and control over their game servers. The idea behind this was to replace out-dated software from 2009 with new software that beat industry standards. This also gave us flexibility in terms of being able to revamp the platform for user cases that required re-coding the server management software. This was a 4 week operation that was funded by our listing on the Asset Exchange of Nxt and remains to this day, crucial to our operations.

3. Nxthaus Collaboration.

In Feb 2015 we decided to work with Dominik Schiener, CEO of Nxthaus on revamping their tech stack and launching the platform. The exchange had raised funds in May 2014 and struggled for a year due to a lack of developers and banking related issues. We were given the wonderful opportunity to engage in revamping the platform and finally putting it on launch.  Our team was involved back-end development and administration of the servers.

4. Xpool.Ca

We were involved with a crucial revamp of the platform that enabled the website to run its operations with Nxt.

5. CoinRaq.com

CoinRaQ is the application and service designed to take the challenge coin and fuse it with block-chain technology. Through CoinRaQ, you gain the ability to create custom branded challenge coins for purchase and distribution.  Created in partnership with a  board member of Nxthaus

6. Colored Coins

Created an RPC and GUI for the team.

7. WeTipTap
Assisted the administration at Nxthaus to launch the Tipbot for Nxt. Currently allows tipping on platforms like reddit, facebook, twitter and slack.

In the mean time, we have also picked up on core businesses with the intent of creating a gaming ecosystem that enables  the gamer demographic to engage in transactions. The entire idea of "freebieservers" was to create a marketing funnel for the following projects while enabling gamers around the world to come, have a clutter free gaming experience on an online platform. Our cash flow deficits during months we don't advertise heavily are to be tackled by the launch of the following projects.

1. Gamebet

We’re building a legal betting platform for gaming leagues. We believe Esports stands to grow substantially over the coming years and combining the power of crypto with it enables us to create cultural shifts amongst our target demographic, while ensuring profitability and scale.  The new betting platform stands to do 6 million dollars a month in revenue once at scale and work within a multi-billion dollar industry with very little competition.  We are 80 percent done with the project and intend to launch in the month to come. Preferably, we catch the crowds in the vacation period for christmas.

Further Information : https://www.dropbox.com/s/vfp02mud3np625q/ExecutiveSummary.pdf?dl=0

2. TheGambit

The idea is to create the world's first game item exchange powered by crypto-currencies. We have a base structure to the platform live and internally tested. The project was taken down while we worked upon the establishment of Gamebet - in order to enable cross platform integration and real time sale of tickets to place bets.

3. Lyth

We serve on the board of Lyth as a partner and this is one of the best partnerships we've engaged in so far. We stepped in on the last minute and saved the project from a closure. In exchange we received an opportunity to work (with full financing) on creating a MMO that runs on Nxt's blockchain.
Further information here :
https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=10023.0
https://nxtforum.org/lith-the-nxt-mmo/lyth-development-announcement-(alpha-spoilers-inside!)/

Hence over the last year we've evolved beyond just gaming. Our involvement has gone through fin-tech, social media and community development. As a start-up, ever single month, we fight the devil called short term cash deficit and as we fight our way through to that beautiful shore of profitability, there are times we sit back and wonder wtf are we even doing anymore. We prefer staying far away from the limelight and being the hackers and artists  that just love building for the heck of solving a problem. Due to the same, you might not see us engaging in PR blitzkriegs or pointless marketing tactics. But, every, darned time ,we've had the opportunity to add value to ecosystems or engage in revamping things, we've delivered on our promises. Unfortunately, a large batch of our ideas go to waste, or die a sad death because we often don't find the means to bring them to life, but that is the struggle behind what we do.
You win some, you lose some.

What's the holdup with the dividends?
Just use the standalone client to pay them.

These kind of holdups are really not helping to gain back the trust of your investors.
These things should be handled asap, and shouldn't be delayed for weeks...

Hey there,

Am sorry.
I have been incredibly distracted with a lot of other things going on (expansion, allegations, irl matters).
Communication is indeed a short coming from my side and I owe up to it.

As stated earlier, the divs are in the wallet but secureae keeps showing the "submitting" message for 20 minutes straight and nothing happens. I tried sending it from the client itself, but it says can't send in fractions so that doesn't go through either.

I'll be sending in this month's divs too to the wallet in around a week, but I am yet to find a way to process these divs.
In case any of you can help me send the divs, I'd sincerely appreciate it.
I always  send it via secureae, but the platform hasn't worked for me in the last 3 weeks.

If you can post an alternate solution, I'll use it right away and send it within the day.

Hey

I'll download the client in a few hours and try it. Alternatively, Cassius if you can send the divs I can send it to you.
Would really appreciate it.

Sorry, I already checked my client and I'm not sure how to do it. I know coinomat could, though. Probably worth finding an asset issuer who regularly pays divs and asking.

Just playing with the client and found dividend payments after all. Sent a test transaction (don't get too excited, it was 5 NXT between 82 holders). I'm using SuperNET client 1.5.12.1 if that helps.

Yes, I think that's right. Was a little under 4k NXT in total.

Recently we have been paid dividends for assets in Freebieservers, I would like a complete breakdown of what I have been paid, what periods I have been paid for and how much pecentage of what profits I have been paid because we have not received payment of dividends for at least 4 months by my reckoning and to just dump out a none descriptive payment is not clear or transparent.

Clarity please.

Hey Dolux

Part of the reason why you haven't had divs come is the low amount. If am not wrong, I've directly sent you divs in two cases where you bought it to my notice. I haven't missed four months of divs. I'd skipped one, delayed one (and sent it) - and am soon to send this months too. That said, yes, I'll account total divs sent and issue a company report on the six month's time frame so stake holders know what's up.
Also,  I tried messaging you on slack, but couldn't find you. Please ping me whenever possible.

Hey guys,

Sent divs to Cassius. He'll most probably send it out later today once he's free.
I'll probably back it up with one more batch of divs towards  the end of the month.
Will be busy until the end of the day, but am looking to get our annual performance report out asap.
I'll be announcing the launch of a new project (currently in beta) and the integration of nxt into another project (currently live)

In addition, I'd like to state that I have settled issues with Killakem (although he hasn't posted here for whatever reason) through a complete refund personally. This wasn't on behalf of the company or my co-founder but with the intent of acquiring the software developed for the forementioned client. This makes me the owner of the said product and am yet to deide what is to be done with it.

Divs for the month will be sent by the end of the coming week.
I've been busy with gamebet.gg. The MVP is live and we intend to be taking bets by the end of the month.
Part of the revenue will go into the asset.

I can paste the gamebet whitepaper here if that helps.
Freebie's paper needs updating on a lot of fronts. I think it should be updated with insights / lessons from the past 1 year.

If you could just give some kind of assurance or report on the company which we can use to establish a valuation that would be great.

Let's see, probably the simplest is via Supernet lite, you can do it from any account, not need to be using the issuer account.

1. download here: http://www.supernet.org/download.php
2. install & import your passphrase
3. click the 'advanced' tab on the top bar (click the 3 horizontal lines on the top right first, if you do not see the 'advanced' button)
4. click 'Supernet' on the left nav bar, then select Dividends+Voting
5. click the 'click here to calculate dividends'
6. fill out the relevant fields and activate dividends.

Please note that you can just decide the whole amount you want to pay out, the system sends out the right amount to each account with your asset.

Good luck!

I'll give it a shot. I've mentioned this atleast ten times in this thread, but GOD-DAMN! I miss Secure AE.
Is there anything I could do to bring it back online ?

Not a question of busyness, it's that I can't use the SuperNET div plugin since the update to 1.7.
Apparently testdruif has created a plugin that works well for NRS. Alternatively, you can use SuperNET lite client I think, but I've not used it myself.

@Cassius can you just pay the instructions for the coinomat method you'd mentioned ?

Just looked into it, fairly user intuitive and helpful.
Either ways Kushti open sourced his product and we intend to re-do it and add some of our existing IP into his project and launch it the coming week, so I'll combine the 2 month's divs (jan & feb)  and send it through that. That way, I could avoid sending some of the asset holders with low number of shares their divs manually. There's been a  number of cases where I had to send it manually due to the fees involved.
I'll follow up later today with information regarding gamebet.gg and our intention for a revamped version of SAE.
Hint : Gamebet has begun taking deposits (btc, bts, game items ) and will officially open this Friday.

I am incredibly proud and excited to announce that we have opened the platform for deposits. Over the week, I'll be working with PR outlets on marketing the platform. I am grateful to everyone that has contributed towards the project. We'll be releasing project reports and dividends for this as it scales in the weeks to come. I have also pulled out all assets from sale in the AE as we are no longer raising funds for the project. Extremely excited to see this go live after 9 months of delays :)

Thanks Farl! What do you use to pay divs nowadays?

I use the core dividend payment function of Nxt.

As for updates.

1. Gamebet v2.0 is out. Sports integrations are to go live soon.
2. Gamebet's marketplace is on. In doing so, we're the first ever to combine e-sports betting with in-game economies and the blockchain
3. Will be a month/2 before revenue from the said project affects dividends (marketing expenses etc)
4. In talks to expand to a fantasy league system. Deal is in early stage. Will post if there is a breakthrough.

Just to update you guys

1. I looked into why I kept getting the "fractions not allowed" error in the div module
2. It turns out, I'd selected "upto 8 decimals" - when I'd set the decimal permission for trading the asset. The system detects it as zero (bug, no clue why it hasn't been fixed). This is why You haven't been able to trade for decimal points either. You may cross check yourself by trying a trade. Someone needs to make new comers aware of the same.
3. I'll be trying testdruif's plugin and re-trying tomorrow post an exam I have to give. If that also doesn't work out, I'll just manually send the divs, so tomorrow - you will have the divs, regardless of whether the system works or not. Just caught up with irl stuff right now. There's been too many delays and I admit it is not justified by any means.

Edit : The account is loaded with nxt to be sent. If someone wants to help me send the divs, I'll transfer it to them.

I've never had any issues sending out dividends.

Maybe you could post some screenshots here so others can help, I've never realised what your problem with using the dividend feature actually is?

I've sent out divs to approx 35-40 of the holders (manually) a few days back.
There's still a batch of 30-35 people with low number of assets to send out to.
I haven't sent a message with the div, so just check the list of tx's from the account to check up on how much has been sent.
Keep in mind, this is only partial divs (as I was testing the entire manual tx thing)

Total sent : Approx 4k nxt.

I haven't sent a message with the div, so just check the list of tx's from the account to check up on how much has been sent.
Keep in mind, this is only partial divs (as I was testing the entire manual tx thing)

Total sent : Approx 4k nxt.
Regards

i did not get anything

It has been months with no activity on this asset. I have repeatedly tried to get Freebie to take responsibility for it, but nothing.
