Assets in the real world
« on: May 27, 2014, 02:58:23 pm »

I thougth about a couple of things.

I invest in share of a project on the asset exchange.
So they are traded and you can change them for NXT, etc. etc. everything works fine.

Then a company wants to buy one of this startups. So how can I be sure that I will get my share?
Cause the owner can sell his startup and keep all the money for hisself.
There is no legal safety, that I can demand my share cause "I am the owner of shares on the asset exchange".
I have to simply trust them.  :-\

What do you think about this?

You are exactly in the same boat as somebody buying an unsecured note emitted by GM or IBM; you have to trust that they will pay their regular interest AND not go broke AND reimburse you at the end ! It's a trust matter. Of course, in real life you have lawyers ! (do you trust your lawyer?)....
