Asset Exchange questions
« on: June 07, 2014, 10:54:43 pm »

I'm new to Nxt, but have a lot of experience with Ripple and am very interested in Nxt's asset exchange.  I have some questions about it:

1) On the Ripple Network the issuers of assets are called gateways.  What is the appropriate term being used on Nxt - issuer, gateway, or something else?
2) Once a asset has been issued, can anyone place a bid or offer into the public block chain and effectively become a market maker in that asset?
3) If I place a bid or offer into the block chain, how many confirmations do I need to wait until that bid or offer is available to other Nxt users?
4) If I create an asset called USD.CW - can I sent that asset to anyone I choose, or do they need to trust me in some way for that asset first?  I.e. can I create a spam asset and send it to every other account?  If not, how is that spam prevented?
5) Is there a way to ping the block chain via an API to pull a list of every asset traded on the asset exchange, or is creating such an index of assets a more manual process?

Thanks in advance for answers to these noobish questions.  I'm kinda digging this Nxt thing...

1) Asset Issuer :D
2) yes, everyone can start to place bids
4) You can create spam assets and send to user, you have to pay transaction fees for any of them. User can just destroy assets they got sent with sending them to the genesis account
5) http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Nxt_API#Asset_exchange_operations

Hope thats a start to answer your questions
