Command line client like bitcoind?
« on: April 02, 2014, 04:28:04 pm »

Has anyone come up with one yet?  I'm anxious to get my stash out of DGEX and run a linux node to support the network.
If not, suggestions on proceeding, maybe the most recent overview of the NRS?  I hate java and have migrated my custom binary server/client work to Go.

AFAIK no. You can just send/receive commands to NRS via plain curl however. Or use IPython + requests module for an easy http wrapper.

The HTTP API is nice and clean.

Not command line, but you can run NRS on linux easily and access with the web browser. You do not need to keep the browser open to forge.

Many of us would not recommend forging on an external node for security reasons, they all have back door were administrators can peek in to see what you are doing.

If this doesn't bother you, you can forward a local port to the node using ssh, and use the web client securely
for example ssh -L 81:127.0.0.1:7875 user@office.net

Ok that sounds fine, I'll try the nrs + browser.  Are there any developer docs, or just code so far?

No docs that I am aware of, just some simple installation instruction
http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/How-To:InstallNRSLinux

The code is here
https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/overview

the whitepaper is here
