Do you have Java installed? Is it version 7?

If Wesley's app can't download it for you, get it yourself at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html

I have java installed. This is what I got from terminal

java version "1.7.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_45-b18)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.45-b08, mixed mode)

Edit:

java version "1.7.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode)

After manual install, it works! Beautiful client. Maybe need to check why it did not download automatically.

Yay! Glad you got it working. Hopefully Wesley can look at the auto-download thing (maybe he still has it pointing to 7u-45 instead of 7u-51?)

NxtWallet For Windows is available: (test version)

http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/

It connects to the main (real) net by default, I suggest you switch to testnet first and try it out there (tools > switch net)

I have removed my donation address from the bottom of the app so as to give it a more professional look, but donations are still very welcome of course ;)

You can send to 8189784314684138350 or simply the alias @wesleynxt (this works in any dialog).

A new mac version is also available (minor differences).

A couple small things:

In Asset Exchange, scroll bar disappears below edge of window when you scroll all the way down.
Under "Tools" I would really like to see "Switch to Test Net" "Switch to Main Net", just so you know what Net you are on.
Nxt Logo in very top corner looks weird.  I would just remove it or use something else.

Other than that, looks stellar!

It is supposed to show the net but there is a problem with the menu not refreshing and showing the updated state. I need to wait for an upcoming release of the node webkit framework before this can be fixed unfortunately.

Nxt logo looks weird? First I heard.

Thanks for but with asset exchange, will check into it.

Yes, I noticed that too. Thought it was a weird effect of running Laptop with an external 2048x1152 screen in tandem with the Laptop screen.

Ubuntu 13.10 / Firefox.

At least optional. Something like "minimize to system tray"  in setting.  How secure is password generator without a browser?

Plus I get the message your browser doesn't have "flash" even though it's not running on browser.

I installed flash with firefox and that fixed it.

Under Tools there is "Switch Net". That doesn't make sense.  Is that Switch to testNet?

It's a bug in the framework in that it's not updating the menu label correctly. This is something I cannot fix until they fix the framework. If you click in help on 1 of the options then return to tools you will see it updated. So it's just not refreshed.. :(

Referring to the small Nxt icon next to " Nxt Wallet" on the top bar, bad resolution on windows.

I am not that familiar with Windows 8 apps, but looks like they are made in Javascript ?

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/br211385.aspx

If that is true, it would be possible to release a Windows 8 version that would be available in Windows store. It would need to be "light" version that connects to public nodes with no forging option.

I haven't yet made a windows 8 app, but yes - it's HTML/JS so I should be able to do this.

New version of NxtWallet for Mac now available at http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet

Note that it connects to TestNet by default. Use "Tools » Switch to main" to go to MainNet. Use on MainNet at own risk. (Why? Because no one has reviewed my code yet looking for bugs. Though I myself haven't noticed any bugs in daily usage.).

Windows version to follow soon.

0.8.13 update broke the app (you'd think I'd learn by now!)

Will we see a new downloadable client in the next few days? Thanks Wesleyh!

Hi, I don't know if it's a bug which just appeared due to the new 8.13 version, but when I unlock the account "á" (or any other tittle word) in your app and in the NRS gui I unlock different public keys, do you know what is this due to?
I just started testing your app yesterday, worked fine for the rest of things :), keep going, and in addition, when you customize colours in the upper bar "bright blue" the letters of the stop forging dialog becomes hard to see, but this is a minor problem.  :P

Sorry for that! Thanks for the bug report tho! It's because javascript uses UTF16 by default, not UTF8.

If you log in , above the login box is a message if you are on testnet. will make it more clear in next version.

Sorry for that! Thanks for the bug report tho! It's because javascript uses UTF16 by default, not UTF8.

Don't mind haha, you are doing a great job!, I'm only looking  :-[
The strange thing is that yesterday it was working with the same account and your app in my laptop? Does this make sense?

You can make it easier I think;Load to Mainnet as default (it already does I think) and then have two options;

Tools - Switch to Testnet
Tools - Switch to Mainnet

Or;

Tools - Switch to - Mainnet
Tools - Switch to - Testnet

Uhmmm, maybe I checked with a test account with little balance true... Was late yesterday and my brain is a bit burned  :-[
Should be that, just checked again in my laptop and doesn't work with the account with tittled word.
Go to sleep now, nice job again and keep going :D

I have it programmed like so , the problem is an issue with the framework that I cannot fix until they release an update for the framework. The menu bar item is not refreshed, I change the label but it keeps it's old value, not the new one.. :(

I have a few suggestions:

  • I want so see the forging happening. In the last client I could fix my mind to the estimated time for forging a new block.  :D Now I don't see anything. Maybe a small animation, so I see I am forging? (http://giphy.com/gifs/Qi9tR9SQdYWQg:P
  • I would like to see my account balance on all the pages, so that I don't have to switch back to the Dashboard to make a transfer.

Just two things I've seen today.

please look at this client:
http://www.danhgiakpi.com/nemClient/web/index.html#ajax/dashboard.html

Where did you get that from? I thought NEM were using a different design? And why are you showing it to me?

It's a template that's available for sale; https://wrapbootstrap.com/theme/smartadmin-responsive-webapp-WB0573SK0 so it's not something that they should be using anyway, since it's not open sourced.

Does anyone have the link to trustless version?

The trustless version should not have "forging" as an option

New releases with the same filename are confusing. :(

So it this client good enough yet for a wide usage (on mainnet)? Or should it be used for testnet, because I've seen some mentions about it

It would be nice to really see the client forging. Can you place one of these loaders on the rightside of "Forging"?

or this one…   :P

I can e-mail you the gifs.

hi,
I would recomment a feature - "group of contacts" and/or allowing sending Nxt to multiple addreses/group of contatcs by one action

I think I found a bug on your website. When I surf to http://nxtra.org and click on Mac Client I am send to http://nxtra.org/mac/ (version 0.26) instead of http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ (version 0.28).

Good luck programming!

Another problem: When I am in Testnet, the download of the blockchain takes forever and is still not finished after a few hours. I restarten, rebooted, reinstalled, redownloaded, still stuck on block 74745.

Mainnet is doing fine btw.

Hi, today I was sent some textnxt but the account balance is shown as 0, all transactions and fees are listed as "NaN". Yet the client allows me to start forging but I can't send any outgoing transaction, if try I get the following error "Either "amountNXT" or "amountNQT" must be specified"

thanks for the amazing client.

one question. Is it visible somewhere when I am about to forge the next block? and what my target is? You know like in the old NRS client.
I can't find it.

Thank you!

+1, some interaction about the forging gives more motivation to forge.  :)

HTTP API does not give any indication of when you will be able to forge.

Maybe your chance to have forged the last block? Or the chance if the target remains the same as in the last block? You know the target of the last block is known and displayed in the nxt Explorer and with the amount of nxt you are holding the chance can be calculated.

Or am I totally wrong on this?

Btw how does it work in the nrs client at all? Does it use the last target or what?

Could be a good solution for marketplace as well, you could point people to a certain IRC # for a specific marketplace.  For example, #nxtAE for postings sell ads about assets.  Just have it all accessible within client, the user could type in the IRC and it pops up in Wesleyh client.

What happens when Nxt goes to the moon and we have 1 million users or more? The IRC channel will get mighty crowded.

Yes, that's why you can create Nxt channels for specific topics, much like any forum.   Anyway, that's a good problem to have, so I wouldn't let it stop development.

Some suggestions:

(1) In recent transactions (Dashboard, first screen after login) it does not show the blocks my accounts forged. I would like to see it there.
(2) In number of confirmations, it just says 10+. I would like to see the exact number of conformation when I hover my mouse on 10+.

The testnet version of wesley client isn't working (yet) due to NQT implementation.

Testnet now requires 0.9.3.1e or later. If you are using 0.8 branch on test net, you are on a fork. And that fork won't grow because nobody is forging on it, and shouldn't.

Thank you. I have been able to update to 0.9.3.1e by switching to main net so I could download the blockchain, and then updating from within the client.

The client now doesn't work (I get a directory listing instead of an interface), but at least I have the latest version.

I've send all the NXT away from an account and now I see a negative balance in the client on main net. Bug?
(It's not visible in the blockexplorers, there the account is zero as it should. )

What is the account number? What do you see when you query the server directly through the test interface?

I have 0 NXT in the blockexplorers. I opened Wesleyh's client again and still is my effective balance -57 NXT.

Oh, you are talking about effective balance. It is normal for it to be negative, don't worry. This is the balance used for forging only.

The client gave a message it could update to 0.9.6, so I agreed. I assumed it was ok, it was in Mainnet. Now it's giving errors. I shouldn't have updated it.

Maybe Wesleyh could make a note on the website/client not to update it. It's a bit confusing now, when are we allowed to update the client? Just a tip.

If there was one thing that would make me consider another wallet, it would be this. I *always* get burned by this... I'm in a hurry, not paying attention, click ok, bam -- wallet doesn't work. And I get tired of going back, redownloading, etc. I haven't even opened my Nxt account for over a week, it could be empty for all I know.

Right, I will disable it in next update (auto-update) - Otherwise until my client is the default you will get this error.

I'm trying to use wesley's client on main net with 0.9.6 / 0.9.7 and get this:

Account balance NaN...

It would be nice to have that fixed.

I would also like to have a checkbox for:
- Simple client (Dashboard, Transactions, Contacts) (default after install)
- Advanced client (as it is now on mainnet) (can be changed in settings to default)
- Profi client (with all the comming features like AE, DGS etc.) (can be changed in settings to default)

That would make it the perfect client for everyone. 10k NXT bounty for this!

Keep up the good work wesley!

Greets,
eb

Gaman, it's pretty simple -- just redownload the wallet and reinstall. And don't update it. Sounds like Wesley should have an updated download soon-ish.

Haven't heard from Wesley in awhile. Something will happen soon (a few weeks), as the AE is going live in about 15,000 blocks.

Clients that aren't ready for the move to nxtQaunts will need to be removed from all Nxt related website. I think your client is ok Wesley  ;)

I believe wesleyh's client should not be updated from within the client yet.  He is still working on that.  In the mean time I would recommend the new NRS 1.0.0 which has wesleyh's client in it now.

I will use the "old" 8.13 version till a new version is available.

It has to be soon, as there are major changes coming at block 130,000 that will mothball everything prior to 0.9.x. We're at 124,593 right now.

The new UI was just rolled into the official 1.0.0 release, so we've gotta be close to having a new client download.

Wesley,

Would it be possible to add framed web browsing in the client with a few more buttons on the menu?

I was thinking:
Seeing as the main Nxt client is web based, rather than standalone like many other coins, we should capitalise on this by adding a web element. What I mean by this is keeping the side and top menu always static and allowing the content page to be pointed to a relevant nxt website.

Examples of new menu options:

- New 'Help' button - that forwards to to an online guide and FAQ e.g. on www.nxt.org/help
This would mean the users don't have the leave the client to try and find help, and the community can regularly update documentation with ease, without waiting for a new release and wasting developer time.

- New 'Community' button - that shows this forum, would drive much more traffic to this forum leading to a larger consolidated community, rather than users forced to google 'nxt forum' and getting multiple choices.

- New 'Apps' Button - There has been some discussion about adding apps into the client, which everyone seems to be keen on, problem is properly implementing apps will take time. So I think for a quick win we could add framed browsing to the services that are currently available and badge them as apps (or Nxtra's as one person came up with)

Such as the Nxt Facet, Win Nxt and Block Explorer. This way when people first set up an account they would be able to get some free Nxt straight away, I don't think these services are in the public eye enough currently.

These service websites (eg help & facet) could in time create specific landing pages that suit the style and size of the client so the user wouldn't know they have even left the client.

Is this possible?

I've started a thread over in the general discussion, and seems to be popular:
https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/framed-browsing-in-wesley's-client/

Loving your work on the interface!

You're right. All Windows apps look the same.

I see some customized Windows wallets that looks differently. But I assume that they use a different code.
Like Edgecoin. But that was a scam.

It was worth the try =) Thanks for your reply.

If this is a stable version, please remove the "beta release text" and another suggestion... Put help buttons where needed, for people to know what are they choosing or writing... For example making alias, what means URI and what it stands for and so on...

Hope this is the right spot to write this: I have just got the new client. Since I have cookies completely blocked though, nothing shows up but the background image. If cookies are really necessary (I would prefer not), then there should be a note so the user knows why the screen is blank.

After allowing cookies I got into the interface - and love the look and features. As for bugs/confusions:
- Where do I see how well the forging goes? I kinda liked the number that was shown in the old client. Though it was a bit random.
- the Todo tab doesn't seem to work. Maybe not yet? What is it? Better to remove it if it's not soon activated.
- I don't see an Animated Forging Indicator that it notes in the options. Just an unmoving green dot saying "forging".

Wesley,

Can you add a couple of buttons to the UI menu that open new browser tab's?

- New 'Help' button - that opens a new tab to: https://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Getting_Started
This would mean the users don't have the leave the client to try and find help, and the community can regularly update documentation with ease, without waiting for a new release and wasting developer time.

- New 'Community' button - that opens a link to this forum, would drive much more traffic to this forum leading to a larger consolidated community, rather than users forced to google 'nxt forum' and getting multiple choices.

Nevermind - I'm an idiot :D
Maybe make it gray just in case there is someone out there as stupid as me.

Another thing since I'm at it: When switching tabs it seems to remember where I was scrolled to, and jumps to that place on a new tab (i.e. go to the news tab, scroll down, then go to the peers tab, and it ends up down too). It's a bit odd behavior - seems better if it would start always on top.

I will answer questions later, for now here's a windows setup version with 1.0.0 inside:

download url : http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/nxtwallet-win-setup.exe
sha256 is: 991c478202b91d82b1f98c5c527fcadc234f9aeb96dd6e8bbbd0b9dd8e23eb99

There's some things still to do such as remove the flash notice etc.. Please try it and let me know if it works correctly before I add it to my site.

ps: do not quote the download URL.

mac version tomorrow.

Appears to have worked perfectly for me on Windows 8.1. I did not attempt to install without Java, and will test on Windows 7 when I get home.

Well done :)

This version ia so user friendly. We should put this download link to every website.

I prefer this Installer instead of the NRS version. Please make this happen. I told everyone already that we took damage the last months due to the hard to get working NRS for a beginner.

There should be a different section on the website for NRS downloads.

The ONLY way to get those people back that left in December/January is to have a 1 click installer like this!

But also not to make the same mistake we did in december.

The only thing we need is to push this version of Wesleyh to the public.

Hi Wesleyh!

How are things going? What is your planning with the installers? Will it be ready before AE launch? Will you delete the 'Beta message'?

Looks good to me. One thing which always confuses me for a second: While downloading the blockchain it says that I have a brand new account and I should fund it. Is it possible to show a different warning when the blockchain is not downloaded completely? I can deal with it but others may be more confused...

Besides that, great work  :)

Really 1 clik. (Ok, double...) :D

Regarding messages: they are all relevant... when the blockchain is downloaded.
So, why not advertise some :"Please, first of all, wait for blockchain to be downloaded" ?

Thank you Wesleyh for great work!

Can't do it in the app though, you will need to wait for 1.0.1

Well, do not need it as I can connect to a node. But it would be nice to test it.

The problem is: 'the Nxt folder is not there. It should be at the same location where the executable is' << or the like I hope you can make this out.

Another thing: why is the wallet not installed under "Program Files" but directly under C:?

Don't understand, is this with wine?

"Another thing: why is the wallet not installed under "Program Files" but directly under C:?"

There is protection of writing files in c:/program files.. Not sure of the correct way to get around that.. Any ideas?

1. Sure.

2. Probably because those transactions were done before you added the contact.

Initially I downloaded straight though the client via the pop-up.  It restarted and connected to the Test server but when I switched to Main, it wouldn't connect.  I then downloaded from the link in the OP (which I believe was an older version because it's asking me to update again) and it's once again working.

Also, I only have 208 confirmations on my first transaction but the client is saying that I'm forging.  I thought I had to wait until 1440?

Please go to http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/Nxt-Wallet-Mac.zip

Let me know if everything works correctly, so that I can add it to the site itself. (Others too!)

This is the Mac OS X one click installer, give it a try and report problems. I doubt that there are any (-;

I think the download link on the nxtra.org front page still downloads 0.28 which contains 0.8.13 - unless I made a mistake this morning checking it so I sent wesley a pm.

This link above does download 1.0

One thing I've noticed, and this happened with previous versions as well -- I need to re-download the blockchain multiple times, as it seems to get stuck. This will definitely confuse first time users if it happens.

Yes, Mac version. The green downloading status bar reaches the end, but the block and my transactions will only be updated through January or February (or whenever).

After three 'redownloads' it finally downloaded everything up to May 4.

Settings account info sets infos of your account.

Settings alias creates an alias. An account can have multiple aliases associated with it.

Wesley,

When I use the original client, it says I'm not forging (as I have less than 1440 confirmations).  On the Mac client, it indicated that I was forging.  Hope this helps.  Also, never had trouble downloading the blockchain on Mac, only issue was the initial connection.

Hello Wesley,

I installed this new version desktop wallet, but while downloading the blockchain it got stuck at the block 121680, so I clicked redownload blockchain, then it got stuck even more so I force closed and restarted the wallet. When the wallet started again, it was loading for longer than it should (didn't show log in options), so I clicked redownload blockchain again, it scanned the blockchain, showed log in options, then I logged in and everything was ok (blockchain complete and everything ok).

Just wanted to report it, because blockchain download didn't work as it should.

Is this mac version or windows version? Is anyone else experiencing this?

What did you mean by the first "it got stuck at block 121680"? What happened at that time?

Btw, it's normal when you click redownload blockchain that it takes a while, especially when you do it during blockchain download, as it has to shut down the java server first. How long did you wait before you did force close?

Under blocks section, last block downloaded was 121680 and it stayed at that block for at least 20 minutes or even more, then I clicked redownload because the download got stuck.
When I clicked redownload, whole screen was green like when you're logging in, it was maybe working for another 10 min and then I force closed.

Which browser do you use? Do you use an extension to block cookies or private browsing mode?

Whole screen was green, with a loading indicator or without?

"it was maybe working for another 10 min" - what do you mean by this? It was showing the green screen for 10 minutes?

EDIT: Client closed automatically after 15 seconds...

Java is running in Task Manager. So I think it's downloading the blockchain, but I can't see it.

Yeah and maybe one more thing... I have just a few NXTs and I obviously didn't forge any blocks, but when I switch to "forged by you" the "# forged blocks" and "forged fees total" can't load. It just loads and loads and nothing... Is that normal?

No.

But I've had this same problem at the previous release. But then it was approx. after 10 minutes when it shutted down.

I didn't encounter any such problems (Windows 8.1)

I think people with less than 10000 nxt shouldn't even have to download the blockchain. It's too much pain for nothing (they don't get to forge at all).  Trustless version would solve this

edit: do you not see it in "system tray" either?

I reopened the wallet after killing the Java process.
But then I saw the NXT wallet in the task manager 2 times. Then the name turned into netsession_win.exe *32, but still 2 times in it. After 2 minutes it crashed again with the next message;

I think people with less than 10000 nxt shouldn't even have to download the blockchain. It's too much pain for nothing (they don't get to forge at all).

I don't do it for fees yet, I do it because I like NXT and I want to contribute it.

There is "Setting" with some choices and then Tool/Preferences   (with different options than "Setting")

Is there a reason why two different locations?

Can't these two be combined?

Yeah, another major freeze... I was just browsing around UI, first my news disappeared, then suddenly my peers and alias disappeared and then whole thing froze, had to force close again.

And also "Dashboard" icon sometimes turns into a square and when you go over it with cursor, it turns back to regular icon.

I downloaded the new one, but it seems I was still using the old client on my Mac. That was because it didn't overwrite the old version because the new version has a different name, a well, it has a space between Nxt and Wallet: Nxt Wallet. I thought I was using the new one, but he started the old one...

It was a bit confusing, is "Nxt Wallet" the new name instead of "NxtWallet". We need to change to OP here too.

EDIT: Now transactions also...

I have 5 transactions, 1 alias, 20+ peers always connected and news work at first and after longer time, everything suddenly disappers.

Yeah you could say it happens 1 page at a time, but I'm not sure... News and peers go down first almost the same time, then later aliases and transactions last.

Wesley,

Updating the client returns the following error (hash doesn't match).

And yet, when i go to the update tab in the client and drag the client update zip over to check the hash, it matches. Strange!

New version at http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet

Please test.

Should fix the issues with auto update as well (I guess you can test this when the next version arrives).

Blockchain download stuck again, now at block 132000, have to redownload.

And I noticed there's no bar when downloading blockchain, did you remove it from this version?

Windows version is now updated to 1.0.3

http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/

Reason you didn't get update notice in the app is because the block that says there is an update available is above 134,000 - which you never reached.

No, the progress bar is something new, using a different mechanism and if there are not enough updated peers (to this version), then it doesn't work. It will work properly once most people have updated to this version and in the future.

It would be nice to see my asset order history with more information. In the tab My assets, I would like to see how much NXT I paid for the assets. Maybe as a relative difference? Example: -10%  or  +18%

You are using an old version which had problems updating, please download the new version manually at http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet

Updates should work fine from this point on.

I agree, but would need some server API to be able to accomplish this.

I really like your wallet Wesleyh, works great for me everytime..

Just wondering, is there any way to get an indication of timeframe to forge a block, like in the plain NRS?

Found it fun to look at  ;D

Keep up the great work

When you are forging and click the logout button you should see two options, logout and stop forging and logout and continue forging.  (So yes)

An alias is unique, and can be looked up easily. Account information is more for when someone knows your account number, and it's not unique.

There is nothing showing under "Below are the last 100 messages from the server log." I have left it open for 15 minutes. Currently running OS X 10.9.2.

Same for me here!

And  it is the second time in a row. It restarts downloading the blockchain forn zero and it gets stuck in (apparently) random block.

I solved the problem redownloading manually the blockchain.

BUG:
Sending NXT, Messages or Transferring assets to contacts isn't working correctly. When I click on the grey avatar for my contacts, I only see 1 contact, not all my contacts.

SUGGESTION:
It would be nice to see how much NXT or assets I have in the sending/transferring-panel. I wanted to transfer all my assets to another account, filled in the account number, etc.. then I forgot how much I had, so I had to cancel the popup-window and started all over again.

EDIT:
SUGGESTION:
I transferred all my assets to another account, but in my dashboard I still see: X assets owned. The quantity of the assets is 0, so it looks not right to me.

EDIT 2:
BUG
I sent NXT to a account in my Contactlist, but I put in the accountnumber instead of click on the avatar. After that, I get the question if I want to save the contact in my contactlist, but it's already there.

I have a question about the 12 random words that the client generates for a new account, how big is the pool of these words?  And is capitalization used currently?  I have created two accounts in the client for the testnet and both times all the letters were lower case.

If this was covered, sorry I didn't see it.  Just thinking about security as we move forward

Thank you again for all your work

The pool of the words is about 1650 words, I don't know the exact amount, I read it a few weeks ago somewhere on this forum.

It's 1626 word dictionary same as Electrum dictionary. All words are small cases. 12 random words from 1626 words means the entropy is 128 bits, same as curve25519. In fact slightly stronger than curve25519.  It's perfectly secure as long as window.crypto.getRandomValues returns truly random words.

Think of it this way. If someone can build a machine that can crack 64-bit account ID in one millisecond (that's 1/1000 seconds -- might be against the laws of physics), breaking 128 bits password on the same machine will still take 500 million years.

Thank you and that seems good  ;D
Guess I'm just a little password paranoid, ha.
The idea came up in my head because in the client when you create a new account with the random 12 words it says to keep track of capitalization of the words, but I've never noticed any capitalization and I assumed there was supposed to be.  I get now though, that it seems to be to make sure people know that it all has to be lower case.

Thank you again!

On the landing page of the NxtWallet client, there is an option of Save your pass phrase for this session. I wonder what this option does if I check it?

btw, this is a very nice client. Thanks!

You don't have to retype the password as long as you are logged in for the session.  Logging off clears the password.

I have not used the client yet. When do I need to retype the password if I am already logged in, for sending a transaction?

For all outgoing transactions you need to type the password every time, unless you do "Remember password during session" at login

I just wanted to check and see if there was any status of implementing the global design into this client and seeing if/when it is updated to 1.1.3 (It says 1.1.2 still on your website)?

Thank you and again for all your work!

On the top is the 3 striped-button for hiding the left panel. When I use it while I am in the exchange, the content doesn't automatically resize.

Seems the NRS server outputs a successful start of the server in the error output instead of default output, which is why it's showing that loading icon forever.

I fixed the mac version, windows version follows tomorrow.

I'm still having this problem. No output in the log and the NRS client runs fine. I've tried redownloading the blockchain as well.

How are you doing on donations by the way? Do you feel you got the donations you deserved? Or do you feel it's on the low side?

Did you download the new version at http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet ? That should normally fix it. It's due to the start event being outputted in error output instead of normal output, new version checks in both outputs.

Donations are always appreciated :)

Check if the version number is really 1.2?

If yes, does restarting help?

Thanks for the hard work :)

another issue I'm having: every time i launch the wallet, my antivirus prohibits it (no certificate blah blah), i tell it to always ignore this program but it wont "learn" while it did with any other software so far, why wont it remember the setting for nxt wallet? does it somehow "change" during sessions so the AV recognises it as a new thing? I also get the warning from chrome but I ignore it.

I guess .exe file downloaded from unknown domain name (for chrome's perspective)  is the reason? Or maybe implementing htts will solve this

SUGGESTION/BUG:

When I attach a long comment to the transfer of assets (maybe also when I send NXT with a comment), the words are broken when they are at the end of a line. Would be nice if words stay unbroken.

Yes, the version number is 1.2. I dragged into the trash can (equivalent of uninstall in Mac) and then reinstalled. Did this many times, but still can't get past the progress icon.

Some little usability suggestions:
- The big colored fields on the top, should be buttons - so that I can click the whole thing. Anyways, that's how the user would expect it to work.

- The balance should be always visible - i.e. on the top bar.
-The blue box on the front page, could then show some more detailed information - i.e. how much NXT is locked in BID orders at the moment.
-I'm not so sure about the number format - with the ' between three numerals. It is unpractical for copy/paste. Not the biggest issue though.

- In my eyes the "recent blocks" can be removed from the dashboard. It seems irrelevant and will just confuse new users.
If there is any importance to it that I'm missing, then maybe it could be pointed out (with a better headline or so).
Maybe the "Owed Asset" listing would be more relevant to users.

Another user who doesn't understand the asset exchange in the official client, and I guess it's just the tip of the iceberg.  :(

So, its been a month or so since I used my client. And I see the Asset Exchange option, but there are no assets listed that I can see in my client. Am I doing something wrong? Is the asset not visible in the Mac Client. It looks like I can add an asset, but I can't see the assets listed or price, etc. Thanks in advance.

BUG:
There is a small problem on the Asset Exchange regarding the decimals used to buy assets which are set at a different amount of digits after the decimal mark. The NEMstake for example can't be traded with more than 1 digit after the decimal mark (they issued it that way). But it's possible to buy with more digits after the decimal mark.

Improvement? (I maybe talked about it somewhere else)

If somebody is placing a buy order with all NXT he has, he's not able to cancel it anymore. Maybe there should be a notice (with an option to reduce the amount by 1 NXT) about that before the order is placed.

Mmhh, where is the bug?

Improvement? (I maybe talked about it somewhere else)

If somebody is placing a buy order with all NXT he has, he's not able to cancel it anymore. Maybe there should be a notice (with an option to reduce the amount by 1 NXT) about that before the order is placed.

Hmm ok maybe. Will think about it.

Btw people, I can't keep track of all the issues and improvements posted here. I just created a github repo, please add your issues there instead:

Hi,

In transactions, sometimes I don't know what kind of transactions there are. For instance, if I receive a token or I buy an asset, I can't see which one it is/for how much did I buy it. Or if I put an order, the same.

Is there any wayt o see it /could you add these features? "ask order placement" doesn't seem enough for me :)

Would be nice to know what asset I purchased, when and at what price, so I can compare with the price it has now because I have no clue about the evolution of these assets.

BUG
Looks like I can't register an alias (to an accountnumber anymore). It doesn't matter if I use the number or the Reed Solomon account-format.

I'll make some special version over the weekend that has a console window with extra logging, to see where it gets stuck.

Any update on this?

Yet another instance of the same bug I've been reporting for weeks:
http://www.reddit.com/r/NXT/comments/27b6bp/nxt_wallet_12_just_spinning_icon_eternal_am_i/

Wesley, I appreciate the work you are doing on the client and if it wasn't being promoted as the default I would not fault you for the slow response. That being said, this is a huge broken window and should be the top priority. Have you verified ANYONE successfully using this client on OS X Mavericks?

will get to it tomorrow, and yes, know of many people who use it on mavericks. Including myself.

Also, this is not the "default", the default is the web version in the java package. But I understand your point.

Hmm, I wonder if this has to do with a security thing and java.
Out of curiosity would you be able to go to System Preferences, Security and Privacy, and make sure "Allow applications downloaded from:" is set to Anywhere

I changed to Anywhere and still have the same problem (which makes sense since I've run a lot of clients and never had this problem before). In fact I was able to run a much older version of Wesley's client in the past (don't remember which).

I had no problem installing Nxt 1.2 on one Mac with Mavericks installed.

Then i tried on another Macbook Mavericks with Nxt 1.2 and i had the same problem as described in this topic .... loading icon kept loading.

I resolved this by installing Java manually, then restarted Nxt:

I picked the java version: Mac OS X x64   185.94 MB     jdk-7u60-macosx-x64.dmg

from this page:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html

and it worked fine.

Wes,
looking at this mistake http://blocks.nxtcrypto.org/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=2000&tra=5022813621849855120
you might want some warnings/are you sure if someone puts a stupid (high) fee in the fee box

I'm wondering, do we want the fee box to be displayed by default?
Why would someone make the fee higher than 1 NXT for a bid or ask order?  If there is no good reason, I feel this would just add extra confusion to the basic user and removing it would simplify things.

Thoughts?  Thanks!

"Deadline" is even more confusing.

I suggest hide these two under "advanced" tab. Someone who wants to change it, can just click on advanced tab to change these settings.

Some small bugs:

No space between the digit and "lessors".

No space after the first sentence.

The confirmations (little popup) in the list of recent transactions in the dashboard doesn't refresh sometimes.

The internal client update doesn´t work. It says that the requested file has got a different hash.
Anyone the same problem?

One small error today --

I owned and asset, and had it bookmarked.

I transferred the asset.

Once the asset was transferred, I right-clicked on the bookmarked asset and was told I couldn't delete the bookmark because I owned the asset (even though the asset transfer was confirmed and no longer listed in My Assets).

I ran in to the same problem a few days ago. I had to manually kill the java process, that got stuck for some reason.

On the occasion that I couldn't get it to work, I saved the database and started a new NXT wallet, but killing the java process did the trick most of the times.

./compile.sh
./run.sh

Sorry, can you expand on this (explain how to install on Linux Mint or Ubuntu)? What do I download from where to then compile? Apologies for being a newb. Cannot seem to find link to download source code...

I can see Qora is planning "BIP32 Deterministic Key Generator http://bip32.org/". Is BIP32 also possible here?

On my forging computer I keep getting an error and the Nxt Wallet has to shut down. I downloaded a new one, rebooted several times, but it's not working anymore.  ???

I'm having the same issue. Deleted old wallet, downloaded new, reboot multiple times -- same server initialization error.

I just figured it out. We need to delete the old db so it reinitializes a new, empty db.

Delete your database files in /user/library/application support/nxt wallet and you should be good. Worked for me, anyway. :)

I had the same error, deleted the database, reran the app. It crashed while processing. Now whenever I restart it I get an error

"The server database is already in use".

What to do?

Thanks

I need to reinstall NxtWallet (was using 1.2.5f, and downgrading back to 1.2.5, with some problems)

I've been able to get it to restart fresh with 1.2.5 without doing a full reinstall, but I lose my contacts.

I'm still looking for which file my contacts are saved in. Help?
(or perhaps, a simpler way to downgrade back to 1.2.5?)

I want to make suggestion. I was creating a new NXT account and I got this message.  ???
It's different than the previous message when I created an account.

Quote
Welcome to your new NXT account. Your account ID is NXT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX - When funding your account for the first time, you also need to announce your public key, which is 679blablablablablablablablablablablablabla...

I don't understand what it means. Hoe do I announce a public key, tweet about it??
