[Web Client] NXT Wallet with Asset Exchange
« on: March 23, 2014, 11:08:55 am »

Here's my Nxt client, still in development, if you find bugs or have suggestions, please reply to this thread.

http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

I chose HTML/JS as the programming language because it has a few advantages:

- Source is just a click away (right click the page > view source)
- It's easy - lots of people know javascript and HTML - this means multiple people can work on this together.
- It's cross compatible and runs on any device.

A 1 click installer will be made available for linux/windows/mac as well.

For now it runs on my server, since it connects to the test network, there is no worry concerning passwords. Do not use your real account password.

I hope you appreciate this effort, if you do - my Nxt id is: 8189784314684138350

Here are some screenshots:

This is a bug that I reported before at nextcoin.org and you said:

Quote
Regarding the nr of confirmations being different on dashboard (homepage) and transaction history page, I suppose you looked at it during a 30 second timeframe? The homepage is updated every 30 seconds, the transaction page is updated when you click on it, so it's possible for it to be different for a short amount of time.

Well...this is not the case. The "dashboard" lags WAY behind when displaying transactions and confirmations. For example, as I type this, in the "Transactions" section of the client, my most recent Tx has 871 confirmations. However, in the "dashboard" it is still showing as unconfirmed.

The "recent blocks" section of the dashboard does appear to keep up to date. It's only the Transactions that are not updating.

When I quit out of the client and then logged back in, the "Transaction" section of the dashboard was updated to show 10+ confirmations.

Hmm, did you have it open like the entire day? I will have to test this.

Wesleyh, again, great looking software.

Question: Logging in as Genesis account (1739068987193023818) on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/ shows a balance of -4 NXT and owns 2 assets.
BUG?

(Sorry if this was answered already, didn't find anything)

Wesleyh

Are here some plans with transactions history, like "My transactions" in NRS? I see my account volume is changing, but I don't now from where testnxt are coming. Some are coming from forging, some came from selling an asset, but there is no one place to see all movements of my nxt.

Yes...I have had your client running constantly for at least a half day at a time.

Wesleyh, perhaps I missed it, but are there plans for encrypted messaging (AM) in your client?

The "Not Forging" option should be removed or disabled completely  if the user is not connected to localhost

Really like the Alias option when issuing assets, I tried several ways to break it and it won't let me issue an asset unless I own the specific alias.  I'm almost thinking that we should make it a requirement, that you enter an alias when issuing your asset.

That is back again?

Oh well - people always *drift back towards centralisation* (am not going to argue until blue in the face once more).

i dont understand:  aliases are unique, asset names are not.  you cannot deny issue of an asset simply bcause the issuer doesnt own an alias that equals the asset name.  these 2 should be 100% decoupled

Not at all.  What I was saying is that you could require the asset issuer enter their alias when issuing, the alias can be whatever you want, it isn't required to be the same word as the asset.  So you could have BTC:Wesleyh, BTC:forkedchain, BTC:msin.  That way you can at least see a difference between non-unique asset names.

You can't do that - if you allow *anything to be unique* you are promoting *squatting* and *scamming*.

Nxt needs an abundance of scammers if it ever wants to be considered a real cryptocurrency.

Haha - yes - it seems as though that is what the community does favour.

Haha, yes, we could use a few good scammers.  On a serious note, if I issue a "BTC" asset, Wesleyh's client allows you to list your alias next to the name as well, which I think is a great option.  That way I can tell people, "Look for BTC asset with msin alias"  Making it a requirement is one thing (which I don't think we should), but making it an option is good.  Also, I don't think it promotes scamming, it just helps separate the 100 different "BTC" named assets.

CIYAM's point, I believe is that the MSIN alias can belong to anyone with the 1 NXT it costs to register, and the impostor MSIN could be out to rip people off.
