Title: eMunie
Post by: Wakasaki808 on January 31, 2015, 09:50:54 pm
I actually forgot about eMunie for a long time so I went to visit their forums again  to see how it was developing :P. (it was my first crypto I looked at when I first discovered BTC besides NXT, and Protoshares back in mid-late '13)

Seems like eMunie is getting close to their IPO and open beta (again) after closing off any beta clients for at least a few months (maybe close to a year?).

Fuserleer seems confident its getting close to ready for the (beta) masses testing it out after some of the eMunie founding users in a closed alpha helped him get kinks out and improve things. (looks like a few weeks out or so)

He said in https://forum.emunie.com/threads/how-fast-can-emunie-go-heres-how-fast.3339/ the eMunie system can according to the post get at least 100+ tx/s with just 10 nodes using eMunie and looks like it can go multiple times higher than that with more nodes. (I believe that's how eMunie's new structure works...not sure though as I barely have any understanding of eMunie...)

Oh, they are still at it at all?

They'll really have do deliver big, if they want eMunie to mean anything to anyone.

Yeah I was curious if there was anything being developed too. So I decided to take a visit and see what was going on with them. They pretty much disappeared off-radar for almost a year.

Seems like Dan for the last year has been working mostly solo on the coding of eMunie with at least one of the founders (Jazzer) helping him set up the whitepaper. Along with some eMunie founders helping him test the client when needed.

I agree they have to deliver big-time while getting some major figures on-board in order to get noticed.

amazing.

btw I wonder why almost no one communicates their alias as receiving address in Nxt.

they did a pretty good job making their marketplace similar to ebay that everyone is familiar with.
i wonder if ebay is able to sue them since emunie is a company?

I don't think a "look" of a webpage can be a basis to be sued on unless they patented or copyrighted it..not a lawyer though :P

Are we able to do that in NXT? I've always had a contact list (since it was introduced a while back) but I just use it to make sure I'm not sending NXT to a random account...lol

I've never really understood the use of alias. Just remember the time it was released and everyone picking up anything they could think of (and ended up taking a break from cryptos for a few months). Are we able to use our alias instead of Nxt address already when sending stuff?

Looks like Dan is getting stuff done...probably would have been better and faster released if he had more coders than himself though...

Yes.

When you buy an alias, choose the type "account"

When someone sends you Nxt, he/she can just enter the alias as recipient instead of the address. Pretty easy

yeeahhh...nope :P. Sorry...

Not much of a news reader (other than business financial stuff (stocks, equities, etc.) and sports (american fb, basketball, etc.)) These forums have been my sole news-source when bored in my classes or when I have time.

What interests me with eMunie is 2 things.

1. Its innovative approach to the 'block chain' with their Relational Channeled Transaction Ledgers. (here is an interesting discussion on 3 individual attempts at new 'block chain' innvoations https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=928860.0;all)

2. Elastic money supply. This will blow nubits out of the water.

The rest of its features will be very similar to nxt. I've been following for over a year now, about the same time I started following nxt and I think it'll be a huge force when released.

Seems like eMunie is getting closer to release. Probably a few months out though still.

Looks like a new test client is finally coming in week or two from talk on their chat box. Dan seems to be finishing some last minute tweaks before he releases it.

- do you know that that clown tried to teach BCNext in 2013 how to code ?   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.msg3517418#msg3517418

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with all the features you've announced, with a 3 months development time INCLUDING testing and bug fixes...well, I think you'll find you wont have enough time and there will be some real nasties down the road with lots of grumpy investors.

Well you know Nxt is a joke when dogecoin is beating it.

Looks like a beta client will be up relatively soon. (don't think its Open Beta though)

Quote
A moment ago - Fuserleer: ok, 1 hour, at 8PM UTC, it'll be up

edit: first of eMunie's Beta clients (version 9-79060.4381) is out if you have been part of the eMunie beta testers. In respect to Dan, won't post the actual link here.

That clown says that he needed another 6 months:

Quote from: Fuserleer
If we want all the V1.0 features that have been discussed, and have the time to get some infrastructure in place to push mass market roll out, we're looking at around 6 months.

eMunie is being developed. The platform will not be based on a blockchain but rather on a relational channels. This will ensure speed and scalability. Hope Dan will manage to deliver open beta soon.
