through not fault of your own, the passwords could be compromised and so these short numbers would only be good for accts with nothing in them
I'm not sure where you're getting this info, just a few months ago Jean-Luc said that numeric IDs would be supported by the client indefinately. When did this change?
Second issue, how can the passwords be compromised? A numeric ID is like an alias for a NRS number, isn't it? I don't see how the password could be compromised.
I'm getting the feeling that I don't have all the information here. I'll look into it some more...
EDIT: Ok I see, it looks like it's just that Wesley's client doesn't support the numeric IDs, and not that there is some kind of basic security issue apart from the obvious trust issue.
But. After some research it seems both numeric and RS style addresses may be deprecated soon. So looks like this business model is going to be a dud. :/
